I think your contractor was looking for something like this: but didn't know there's a specific frame and tank for a recessed into the wall toilet...

At least he left room to get the lid off. However, I do wonder how they hooked the waterline to the toilet? Normally there would be a shutoff through the wall with a flex hose to the tank. 🤔
I know this was done because the door swings in with 1/8” gap to the front of the toilet so you have to do a gymnastics move in order to close the door.
I think it’s brilliant!! 👍
What? It's fine. Toilet fashion is always changing. This is the recessed model I'm guessing. You were lucky the plumber was able to do the drywall work on the installation, looks like you got a deal.
That blanket on the floor with a huge plunger is nasty, Im sorry. Throw that out or get something to put under it instead of a shirt or towel, please.
Since you have 2 plungers, you probably needed a bigger toilet. This post is 🤪 or for shits n giggles? 😆
I don’t see a problem
Pretty ingenious

Yes but look at the custom trim work. The base is coped over the toilet base. I mean they did it with a steak knife but its still the details that count.
This set-up is for older folks that fall asleep on the John. Front of tank flush to the wall Properly done should have the corner of room immediately to the right so there's a wall to lean on and often the sink to the left where the toilet paper roller hangs in front to not impede it's use as the other support. Now just wedge your cane in front and you're good for a nap while you wait on the poo poo train.
Put trim around hole it'll look pro feshunal.
On a serious note, my neighbor showed me some work her contractor did in her kitchen, they cut the Sheetrock around the stove to gain the smidge extra need to open stove door fully.
You could only load stove from side, they removed the bar handle and installed cabinet knobs.
I guess the bar would hit the fridge opposite stove.
A real shit show.
Single, clueless divorcee with a little money moving from an apartment to a house.
At least now she found another hack contractor, Jack of all trades to move in with her, but she gets half ass work done, along with all his non working cars and junk with him .

I’ve seen this before! Not as bad as yours, but there’s more than one out there. This one’s already been fixed.
You have more room, and now if someone wants to upper deck your toilet, they are going to need to get creative, thus proving, censorship does breed creativity. You owe whoever did that dinner.
This looks like a way to replace one of those too small uncomfortable little round toilets with one that's elongated - and a lot more practical (depending on your body type / gender).
It’s a good built-in look if you don’t believe in finish trim but they were sloppy with the joint compound or is that just dry dust from lifting the lid off? Also you should know that it’s not a Reddit approved toilet with no bidet. Ideas like this toilet installation could inspire entirely new ways to mount hidden bidets in previously unthought of ways. Eventually your entire toilet experience will happen behind that wall.
0 I had something similar but not this bad parent I paid a contractor to remodel small entryway bath. New cabinet new countertop material, Corian, and upgrade the toilet. The guy orded out the Corian and ran a 6-in shelf from the vanity over to the wall, over the top of the toilet. It was a nice effect and looked very nice. However he failed to realize that the shelf was 4 inches above the top of the toilet tank. We could get the toilet tank lid off when needed, but even the smallest hands can I fit in to repair anything inside the tank. Luckily we caught that before final payment. I made him correct the and get a custom 6 in cabinet which stopped short of the toilet
Having been an electrician for 20 years, nobody is willing to pay in U.S. for anything close to quality. You can quite literrally get better paid doing anything else. I was working in a union at times too.
One customer told me to NOT change careers as I was such a good electrician and the next job took the lower priced bid! Seriously! No amount of quality work gets you more work! or any kind of bonus or repeat customers!
10/10 shitpost
Definitely shit
Full of shit.
Or 100% homeowner didn't wanna pay to have that drain redone after their DIY remodel, so the plumber gave them what they paid for. Lol
Quality, quick, cheap. You can only have two
And the homeowner prob bought the materials so he didn’t get gouged by the contractor mark-up.

At least they cut the hole big enough to take the lid off...
The shit head should have at least trimmed it out.
Flush mount!
Beat me to it!
Well played, sir.

With right amount of mud it ll look just like that!
Soon as he slaps a tile over it for sure!
Hey that’s nice!
It's different, but it definitely looks cool and unique!
I installed a wall hung toilet with in-wall tank. It’s cool.
This is the same picture as OP's, just mirrored.
“Trust me, it’s all the rage right now in luxury homes!”
Heeeere’s Jonnie!
![gif](giphy|5yeQRdiYrDq2A)
Is it a 12” rough in lol
First thing I thought... someone didn't measure lol
Somebody tell this man about offset flanges
I don't think they can offset that far
Just needs caulk
Black or white?
For that big hole. Black.
I typically charge a premium for in wall tanked toilets.
Wait this is real??? I thought this was a troll post
Looks custom
At least he left room to get the lid off. However, I do wonder how they hooked the waterline to the toilet? Normally there would be a shutoff through the wall with a flex hose to the tank. 🤔
I've seen this in real life.
Recessed toilets are all the rage!
This is an anti upper decker toilet install
He made it “flush” with the wall
You should be happy they increased the usable square footage in your bathroom 😆
custom shit
![gif](giphy|IfyjWLQMeF6kbG2r0z|downsized)
Gonna guess you hired and paid for a handyman. Not a contractor.
He was licensed and insured. I looked up his license number
Well then…
Space saver.
Looks fine to me
This is a first for me.
“Upper Decker Proof!”………….. ![gif](giphy|9V1F9o1pBjsxFzHzBr)
My Lord!
Glad he left room to take the tank lid off incase the flapper gets stuck
The nearest home depot mustve been over an hour away and said fuck this, it aint gonna be a multi trip job
Just picture frame it and call it good
Does it have a too small joke hole that's just for farts?
So much room for activities...
Ah yes. Usually you have to pay extra for the murphy toilet that matches the murphy bed....
Did you purchase the toilet or did he?
Bro that is some custom “shit” right there!
You never heard of a water closet?
Flush mount
So close to brilliant yet so far away
It looks good tbh
Omg i should do the my bathroom is tiny
Oooh…custom!
Dats one a dem hidden tank toilets
They just haven’t cocked it in yet it will look fine
That's creative. I would definitely poop in this work of functional art.
Is it not flushing? What’s the problem?
Yep, those home Depot sidewalk contractors can be real hit or miss.
Jesus H Christ.
“Hey! you want a “Wall mounted” toilet just like the rich guys? Bada bing! “I deliva dreams babe….that’ll be $2 grand.”
Did they caulk the base?
This can’t be for real. Wtf
I'm not even mad. I'm impressed.
Rough in too close to the wall. Probably intended as a floor drain, not toilet.
Yeah he forgot to hit that gap with a bead of caulk 🤣
That’s not reliability, that’s stupidity
That to me, looks like you get what you pay for. I can GUARANTEE, u weren’t trying to pony up…contractor here
The only thing off is the paint color. Hideous. The plumbing looks great. Would recommend.
No contractor would do this, don't lie to us like that.
I know this was done because the door swings in with 1/8” gap to the front of the toilet so you have to do a gymnastics move in order to close the door. I think it’s brilliant!! 👍
Oh boy!! The leg room to stretch out those legs to work them bowels. Recessed pooping for win.
What? It's fine. Toilet fashion is always changing. This is the recessed model I'm guessing. You were lucky the plumber was able to do the drywall work on the installation, looks like you got a deal.
Slap some drywall on there. Cut a hole for the handle and tell people you have a tankless water closet. Lol
Yeah they didn’t charge to chip out the concrete around the poopy pipe and extend and fit your poopy choice of toilet
Honestly they made it work, hope they got paid well, and tiped
This is awesome, consider yourself lucky
Retractable?
That blanket on the floor with a huge plunger is nasty, Im sorry. Throw that out or get something to put under it instead of a shirt or towel, please. Since you have 2 plungers, you probably needed a bigger toilet. This post is 🤪 or for shits n giggles? 😆
What was there before? A urinal? And where is the water line? In the wall too? So many questions…
I bet the wall was built out around the plumbing stack. New rock and old house in this picture.
how are you suppose to take an upper decker??
The only thing I know for sure is that the head of my bed is probably directly on the other side of that wall.
Wow this is a new one in my book
As if the walls weren’t thin enough to hear
That wasn't a contractor... That was a dumbass. Contractor has skills. Dumbass... Well the picture tells the story.
Imagine how good a lowboy would look installed instead.
Imagine how good a lowboy would look installed instead.
Imagine how good a lowboy would look installed instead.
Tell me you got it done cheaper without telling me you got it done cheaper.
Tell me you got it done cheaper without telling me you got it done cheaper.
This is great. Why didn't I think of this lol.
You’re right. That green is terrible
Because they’re all studying Computers
Hide-a-potty, I’ve never seen one before.
Ohhh I thought you said you wanted it flush not that it needed to flush
Put a nice casing around it and no one will know!
Elongated with extra steps
The modern US “skilled labor” market are like METH zombies 🧟
Shitty job💩💩🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'd knock the piss out of him/her! Home owner definitely didn't do any reference checks!
I don’t see a problem Pretty ingenious https://preview.redd.it/e41hg19rrr0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d58a60f73916639584da5696011b6266d9a82867
Looks good from my house
No double deckers for you!!!
Yes but look at the custom trim work. The base is coped over the toilet base. I mean they did it with a steak knife but its still the details that count.
When your bathrooms is a 4x4 box, you do what you got to do.
Can you imagine the condensation from the tank…. Inside the wall…. mold….. water damage…. etc….. You Trollin’?
I bet he didn't tighten down the seat bolts.
He actually took his time to make more space for your bathroom. Imagine if he didn't, that toilet would most likely be touching one wall to another.
It looks....snug
Mission accomplished. It's replaced.
Lol
In-wall tank toilets are “in”
This set-up is for older folks that fall asleep on the John. Front of tank flush to the wall Properly done should have the corner of room immediately to the right so there's a wall to lean on and often the sink to the left where the toilet paper roller hangs in front to not impede it's use as the other support. At least the right end is sticking out
😂😂
Should have went tankless
You stole someone else's post.
“I thought you wanted a wall bidet”
I'd be so mad they didn't finish off those edges of drywall around the toilet nicely. Other than that looks awesome.
Our population has collectively become dumber. $10 says your contracter cant even read your post & comprehend it.
That’s what happens when you don’t pay 100% up-front in cash…and with a little bonus.
If it fits u shits
So you were sitting on the couch eating Cheetos listening to a guy hack your house to shit, to install a toilet, and thought “this is fine”
Put trim around hole it'll look pro feshunal. On a serious note, my neighbor showed me some work her contractor did in her kitchen, they cut the Sheetrock around the stove to gain the smidge extra need to open stove door fully. Good joke.
The two plungers are a great touch
Wow it's a built-in toilet genius..😭😭😭😭
Definitely a unique feature of your house. No one in the neighborhood will have it.
https://preview.redd.it/t5glw8eves0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91c4eba0923d04df7bcddb72804de33b467fdb60 I’ve seen this before! Not as bad as yours, but there’s more than one out there. This one’s already been fixed.
Yuk yuk yuk (laugh track plays)
You hired a contractor or a plumber?
gotta appreciate the choice of plungers 🪠
it’s a hide a toilet lol
That looks flush.
You have more room, and now if someone wants to upper deck your toilet, they are going to need to get creative, thus proving, censorship does breed creativity. You owe whoever did that dinner.
Flush mount he just needs to fix the drywall to hide the tank you’re toilet might be trendsetter
the new trend " hidden bowl"
Looks like the toilet was replaced.
It will look good once you get the trim up
It’s an inboard toilet - no issues here
Lmfao 🤣🤣🤣 What Circus Clown 🤡 did that???
The condensation off the tank with no ventilation is likely to cause rot…..
Some crown molding and the shitter is lookin 👌 lmao
Looks fine to me, what’s the problem
Hmmm… I don’t see the problem. 🤔
Clearly this isn’t a plumbing issue but a Sheetrock issue!
Ugh! I have to hand place my upper decker in there now? Gross.
Houston…you have a problem!
Atleast you have a solid backrest 😂
This looks like a way to replace one of those too small uncomfortable little round toilets with one that's elongated - and a lot more practical (depending on your body type / gender).
Wow, that’s one of those expensive in wall models, you’re really lucky if you got that for regular cost. Count your blessings, fool.
People have a lot to say but they never let the man finish. He hasn’t even finished caulking it in yet. Let him finish caulking before you criticize.
No notes. This looks totally normal.
Call the contractor and get him to replace that carpet with a deep shag in white. It will really set the mood.
Obviously, that’s where the biscuits go.
Seems fine to me. Just need to caulk around the edges
Yeah your plunger 🪠 looks messed up
Well he made sure you had a toilet to use, otherwise it’s a bigger project
Because everything is a damn scam in usa
Better than a Home Depot bucket. Not by a lot, admittedly.
Re-placed toilet
He saved you a lot of space
0 I had something similar but not this bad parent I paid a contractor to remodel small entryway bath. New cabinet new countertop material, Corian, and upgrade the toilet. I made him correct the and get a custom 6 in cabinet which stopped short of the toilet
Let’s see someone try to lay an upper-decker on that toilet!
It’s wall mounted, no? 😭
What’s your offset? -8”
I actually not upset at this.. I’d love a few extra inches in my bathroom..
U git whatcha pay fer.
Hum a 12” toilet on a 10” rough in lol
References
Well, how does anybody get that high?
Was it that way when he started?
Is this a joke? Bc it’s FUNNY.
The problem with the contractor is the owner. Contractors do what the owners pay for. I’m sure contractor doesn’t want to do that.
They cut out a stud as well?
Wonder if he usually works in hole in the wall bars? Or spends all his time in one.
Regardless of the situation If I was your contractor I would put the toilet in front of the wall and not inside it.
It’s one of the new ones that retractable into the wall for more room
What’s the issue?!
Can’t wait to send this to my boss next toilet RNR.
Quit yer bitchin' and appreciate the extra legroom! Geesh!
Ever see the movie Inside Man?

Nope! Nothing wrong here. Just the wall expansion. It will contract at some point.
When home owner does not want to pay
I wonder about the vent?
