A lot of people vouch for it. Really good controller. Unfortunately it does have QC issues. I have 3 of them 2 special editions and 1 regular. I personally haven't had and issues but just scroll a few post and you'll see people talking about snapping thumbsticks

Icy-Flatworm-9348

Wonder how much pressure they put on for them to break thumbsticks. That or must be some super low quality plastic used.

ethayden97

These controllers go out in batches so it's probably a bad batch

Jamaican_POMO

It uses a brand new stick module with a lot of it's components constructed from plastic. It could be that a few components may need to be revised to metal to improve reliability. https://youtu.be/8ZcXL-IMCac (25:40 for stick module)

Live_Result_7460

Maybe some are defective but the only person I’ve talked to who broke their stick (it’s not the stick itself that snaps, the base of it cracks inside the controller) admitted they were trying way too hard to fit an Xbox size kontrol freek onto it and felt it crack while jamming it on…

Icy-Flatworm-9348

Yeah, I was wondering how much pressure you gonna put for an internal component to break brand new.

Icy-Flatworm-9348

Yeah, I was wondering how much pressure you gonna put for an internal component to break brand new.

AurumNumisma

Mine broke just from 5 hrs playing. Never turn the tension. Pure bad batch, got my replacement today

Yucker420

had two break on me; kept it in a controller case and everything lol. third one has worked like a charm and has been through the most abuse out of the three as well! def just some bad batches.

PowerfullyWeak

Devil's advocate but I'm sure a good percentage of those issues are user error. That new mechanism where you can tighten the sticks is pretty alien to most people. I can easily imagine someone overtightening the bolts and going ham during a competitive game. The combination of the two would likely lead to a snap.

ethayden97

Some are getting stuck in place though

AurumNumisma

It is a case of the analog ‘ball’ plastic. In my case the plastic that hold it together broke just from 5hrs of playing. Many people complain the same thing like me, never turn the tension, but still got the same problem. Those who got the bad batch usually bought the controller in May/June

Radsolution

I don’t think it’s worth it for what Amazon sells for. Even aliexpress… if it was 50 to 60 dollars sure. But I can’t justify more. The Vader 3 pro can be had for 40 to 50 and I think that’s a better deal

sunrainsky

Apex 3 at launch was $75 in China. Apex 4 at launch was about $85 in China. I was surprised at the increase in price but inflation seems to be everywhere. However the last Aliexpress big sale was $55 before shipping. As for worth, it depends on what you play. I find the adaptive triggers fun so the extra cost (which can be low due to the big sale) over the V3pro seems worth to me. I have Apex 2, 3 and 4. I still prefer the weight and feel of the Apex over the V3Pro I bought. V3pro is super good value though (even though my right trigger stop broke after 2 weeks)

IntelligentMud9823

I'd have to agree. I recently purchased the gamesir kaleid and it's actually impressive for the price also. For pc it actually hits 1000hz from software, but it will not on console for whatever reason.

Wow_Space

Yeah, but the Vader 3 is kinda ugly. Thank god Vader 4 fixes that.

kanaye007

I've been super happy with mine coming from an Xbox Elite 2. Honestly, I hate the triggers compared to the Vader 3 Pro but the sticks are way better. The Vader 4 Pro is coming out soon so that will be interesting. There have been a few posts of the stick internals breaking either from overtightening or hard use, so keep that in mind.

Professional-Log6012

Is the adaptive triggers good? , that's the reason I want to buy this controller.

SoupSup25

They are the my favorite part of the controller especially for racing games

Professional-Log6012

How about the quality, I am checking Amazon and I find a lot of people saying that the sticks broke, for how long have you been using it ?.

SoupSup25

I have been using mine everyday for about 5 months. No issues with my joysticks. I think there may have been a bad batch idk. Also Flydigi support is excellent through facebook messenger.

sunrainsky

You might need to manually adjust the vibration. On the Apex 3, it seems to be at max for the adaptive and gives a great kick when using guns. On the apex 4, it's default is least. It doesn't change when the supported Game is launched. At least when I was trying out shadow of the tomb raider.

kanaye007

To clarify, I don't hate them. I prefer the Vader 3's better. I also haven't used the adaptive feature much with many games.

user45735672584564

It is my main controller now.

Thatguydrew7

It’s a hefty one but I love it 😂

natlovesmariahcarey

Got mine for 76 usd shipped. I REALLY like it, but there some issues. You can't swap rebinds on a face button and triggers. I've been babying mine, in fear that I break the thumbsticks. It's a little too heavy for me.

kenzie1000000

Broke in like two months (the joystick in particular) and I always had issues with the vader 3 pro. See what the qc is like on the vader 4 and if it's good then get that one

rajohns08

I’m curious - did you tighten the stick tension? Trying to get anecdotes of people with broken sticks to see if these things are correlated?

kenzie1000000

Nope, actually had them quite loose.

icreatedausernameman

I bought one when it released on Amazon the paddles still work and I don’t have any stick drift I recommend it I feel like it’s one of the best currently on the market

flamefood21

I have been using it every day for 3 months now so far no issues on my end however the recent posts I have seen about thumbsticks breaking is kinda making me paranoid every time I press the sticks I really hope it's just a bad batch and not a design flaw.

SLE3PR

It's my favorite of the 40 or so controllers in my collection. Really depends on whether you like clicky buttons, but the D-Pad and sticks are lightyears beyond anything else out there.

Wooden_Ad8778

I’ve been using it for 5 months now, definitely worth it but the Flydigi software needs improvement

Superb-Addendum5940

People saying that is not worth it paying 400$ for a battle beaver controller, when this controller is way better than every other controller on the market for much less ! I own a bunch different high end controllers and this is next level

Candid_Day_4332

Great! Had some issues with the software but the latest update fixed it. I’d recommend it.

hairycompanion

Vader 3 pro is cheaper and arguably better in some aspects.

PowerfullyWeak

What aspects? Not challenging you. Just genuinely looking for new input.

ethayden97

Mostly ppl like the physical trigger stops the apex 4 has software base ones tgat uses the vibration motor to up the resistance at a set point you choose

hairycompanion

I don't even use the trigger locks I just prefer the trigger feel on the vader. It's dampened on the back stroke where as the apex it isn't dampened. Feels clacky.

GoCards5566

Not worth it imo it’s only 500hz and I didn’t like it nearly as much as this one

OmegaMalkior

With the Vader 4 Pro coming out soon, I see a bunch of people ignoring the Apex 4 more now

IAmConspiracy

I wonder what the main advantages of buying it would be over the apex.

OmegaMalkior

Actual trigger stops already make it for me. I have the Apex 4 and hate that if I press hard enough by reflex I bypass it cuz the virtual trigger lock isn’t that strong. And it coming in black by default is already much more good than the default color options at launch.

sunrainsky

It actually works well for me. I use it for fighting games. Edit: I'm glad Apex 4 comes trigger stops adjustment from the screen. I find that it works better than doing a custom one from the program. I used to do my own for apex 3 since there wasn't an instant setting. Back then, not many knew that it was through the racing mode.

SoupSup25

I have been using mine for a couple months now and have had no issues. The joysticks are some of the best I ever used.

buffaloplease

It's my daily driver for the past month since my AimController custom Dualsense gave up. Things I really like: - adjustable thumb stick tension - how smooth the thumb sticks feel - clicky dpad and face buttons Things I hate: - the back buttons are in awkward spots for me, and generally inferior to paddles like those on the Aim - how soft the bumpers feel - the "trigger stop" mode doesn't feel as good as a mechanical, physical trigger stop Overall, very good value for the ~$90 that you can find on AliExpress and gadgethyper

sunrainsky

I guess I like default tension. How do you adjust yours and is it for fps?

buffaloplease

Yeah I play Apex Legends. If I recall correctly, I have mine 1.5 revolutions looser from default. Not sure how that actually measures though.

Bedroom_ninja

Do you push down on the left stick to run? I’ve just ordered a Apex 4 and paranoid this could break the stick 🤷🏻‍♂️

buffaloplease

No, I use auto sprint in Apex Legends. I do press on the right stick to melee and I haven't had any problems arise so far.

Bedroom_ninja

Thanks for replying! Good to know 👍🏻

rwx_0x6

Are these trigger stops similar to the digital implementation that the t4k uses?

buffaloplease

I haven't used the T4Kaleid, but based on a brief YouTube browsing I'd say yes, the trigger stops seem similar. Both rely on software controlling the trigger resistance.

rwx_0x6

Ok. I was under the same assumption. The comments about the issues with the digital trigger stops on the Apex 4 pro gave me a different opinion on what the implementation is.

Beardfish

I own both, they're completely different. T4K's "hair trigger" is just software. So if the full range of motion of your triggers goes from 0 to 255, when you put ANY pressure on the trigger will register a 255. Personally I found the "hair trigger" mode buggy and found better results setting the trigger range from 2 to 5. The Apex 4 on the other hand, has adaptive triggers. There are motors in the trigger. When you enable the "trigger lock" mode, you set a position where the motors provide maximum resistance. You CAN push through this, but the resistance is a lot more than you would expect. The default position is 80, I put it on the minimum of 20 and it works great. Of course this solution isn't as good as a physical trigger stop, but it works much better than I thought it would. It's MUCH better than the T4K's software solution.

Avrution

Love mine, but hate the fact that they STILL haven't implemented a low battery warning. The screen is also wasted as so much more could be done with it.

Effective_Pin6393

does this controller work on xbox?

Crazy-Pass-9183

Mine sits on the desk gathering dust 😂 . I use it for car games every blue moon , triggers suck for shooter's and back buttons are in 💩 position . Latency is not great and got worse after firmware update 😒

GosuGian

BEST CONTROLLER RIGHT NOW

GoCards5566

Best controller. Far superior than my $400+ scuff ps5 roller. 0 drift what so ever no issues. 500+ hours so far. Macro software easy to use. I recommended all my buddies buy this roller

ACCESS_GRANTED_TEMP

Love it. I went from the Dualsense (had sick drift) to the T4K (fantastic for the price but it's wired only and doesn't "feel" premium even though it's a banger) to the turtle beach stealth ultra (rubbish, died within 26 days) to the apex 4. Vader 4 looks cool but the Apex 4 is exactly what I want in a controller.

CheisSz

After my Edge broke and didn't want to spend another 200+ on a controller I went through a controller testing spree to see what fits my needs. I'm generally used to symmetrical layout and backpaddles. After testing a few I got a decent deal on an apex 4 and vader 3 pro, got them both. The V3P never got out of the box. The adjustable tension sticks on A4 are awesome, I like them sturdy and this controller really fits it right. At first I was a little wary of how the backbuttons feel and the use of it, but they are really well done. They're sensitive and quite fit the position of my fingers, also for quick and double click use (I play mostly Rocket League). To be fair, I use 2 backbuttons mostly, the inner 2 aren't really useful for me. The controller itself feels decent and qualitive in hand, I personally love that there's a decent weight to it. It was also a quess if I could get used to the clicky mechanical buttons but they feel awesome! If you're not used to them you will be within hours. I did and I never used those before. As for the triggerstops, I would have love to see decent mechanical trigger stops on this controller. For me, I can't use these software guided trigger stops. I easily push through them so even if the signal is there it just doesn't feel right. So I use it on normal analog mode. I don't care about rgb or a led screen on a controller, just not my thing. If they would cut that and sell 20 bucks cheaper the deal would have been even greater. In my opinion, in this price range, this is definitely the best controller I've used so far. That is, if nothing brakes down.

b4nerj3e

O bought it already having the Vader 3 pro and the truth is that I regret it a little because I still like the Vader 3 pro more than this one because it is lighter and I got used to the C and Z buttons. The apex 4 I would only recommend over the Vader if you're going to use the adaptive triggers and you like the controller to be heavier

KanjiGames

Personally I don't like how the back Buttons feel and also I would much prefer clicky Shoulderbuttons over Force Feedback. In both of my problems it's not even the controllers issue but more a personal preference thing. Sadly the perfect Cobntroller for me doesn't yet exist but I definitely like the Apex 4.

DrKoNfLiCtTOAO

Good controller, but the screen is a gimmick and I think they over-engineered some things leading to QC issues. The Vader is still king imo.

marcinp123

Best controller ever ! I can’t believe it cost only £70 comparing to turtle beach stealt £180 !

JAYJO63

Get it on sale and it’s worth it if not get the Vader 3, my apex comin in soon can’t wait

Calm_Faithlessness35

I watched a guy test one of these on Youtube. He said it is a fantastic controller.

venxity09

I know this can be a bit controversial Xbox it’s not good (for me) feel so weird I tryed Xbox controller then I gave to my friend it just not for me

OccamsBanana

The problem I had with it is that the adaptive triggers can’t simulate the feeling of an actual trigger stop. It can emulate some different interesting behaviors but none of them feel really snappy and responsive in terms of tactile feedback (the actuation is still instant ofc) I ended up returning it and getting the V3P which has the mechanical trigger stops + click switches feedback

Fishpate

it's playable

LordRelix

It’s really really good. I now look at my Xbox controller with disdain. Love it. Feels weighty, long battery, fantastic sticks, the buttons feel good, great shape, it’s really a great controller. Purchased it off Aliexpress for like 80 bucks. Don’t buy off Amazon.

shuozhe

I want it's trigger with apex 2's abxy buttons..

patrik2256

Vader 4 Pro preorders just went live this morning. Mine is shipping on July 5th. I'd wait and see how good the V4P is before picking up the Apex 4.

PowerfullyWeak

Honestly, I'll just wait. Not worth dropping that much money when new options are coming out. I'll see what the Vader 4 is all about once the reviews start rolling in.

yungforever87

Great controller, I love the back grip, something missing on the Vader series.

FlannOff

It's the best gamepad I ever used

PowerfullyWeak

I've been shopping for a new controller and I came across this one. The things I like about it are it's almost entirely Hall Effect. Even the triggers have magnets which control the amount of resistance when pressing. I also like the fact that the entire thing comes apart and you can replace parts as necessary (joysticks and D Pad) Was just curious what you guys thought.

IntelligentMud9823

I picked up the gamesir kaleid last week. It's wired and for pc use first off. Reason i say that is, for 60 bucks it's got HE sticks and triggers, clicky buttons ect, remappable, and hits 1000hz. Now for console it won't do the hz for whatever reason but I'm really loving it thus far.

sododgy

I genuinely don't understand why companies are still making "pro" controllers with less than 4 buttons. Shit, Razer has ruined me and I hesitate on anything with less than 6. Physical stops, 4-6 buttons (four buttons two bumpers preferred), and HE sticks. That's the ideal controller and no one is doing it.

utzcheeseballs

I think it's one of the ugliest controllers I've ever seen.
