If Hawaiian is what they like go for the plate lunch classics. Shoyu chicken is really easy and totally works in a crock pot. Boneless skinless chicken thighs. Sauce is 1:1:1 ratio of soy, sugar, water. You want enough to at least cover the bottom and ideally come 1/3rd the way up if it's a big pile of chicken. Add garlic and ginger to taste. I'd use one small clove garlic per serving and equal ginger personally, but that may be a bit strong for some people. Just cook in the croc until the chicken shreds. Probably 6 hours. Serve with rice. Garnish with green onion. Usual sides are mac salad, side salad, and some fruit. Mac salad is super easy just look up a recipe: pasta, mayo, grated carrot, touch of sugar, touch of black pepper. Another option is fake kalua pork. For this I like using a dutch oven in the oven. Take a pork shoulder, rub the outside with salt and liquid smoke. Be sparse on the liquid smoke, just a thin coat will be plenty. Wrap in cabbage leaves. Cook in dutch oven at 325F until it pulls apart, roughly one hour per pound. You could do this in the crock too but I think the oven at just a touch higher temperature is slightly better for texture. Same sides either way. Both of these are pretty foolproof and very unoffensive to even unadventurous pallets.

Can you just get her recipe since it's already tried and true?

Italian beef sandwiches are pretty simple at scale if you want a similar but different theme

I bookmarked this recipe bookmarked for cheeseburger sliders made on Hawaiian rolls: [https://www.instagram.com/p/C2VEvd0Rsnx/](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2VEvd0Rsnx/) But if you are looking for more of a crockpot dish, our favorite is pulled pork. throw a pork shoulder roast in just a little bit of water, some garlic salt and pepper and cook it until it falls apart (I did mine on low for maybe 6 hours) Then drain out the water, shred it with 2 forks, and dump bbq sauce on it (you could also serve bbq sauce on the side in case someone prefers plain) Serve with some type of rolls to eat it on. I just made this recently and out of one big roast, it made at least 6-7 sandwiches. The roasts shrinks a lot when you cook it, so I buy the biggest one I can get my hands on. edit: just re-read you said Hawaiian sandwich, not Hawaiian rolls :P That's what I get for commenting at 2am!

Meatloaf would work

They are used to sandwiches, make some type of meal with bread. The bread is the important part. Also giggling over the cheap old guys.
