Both item names for search purposes: **Take & Bake Kirkland Signature Combo Pizza** - $16.99 **Take & Bake Kirkland Signature Margherita Pizza** - $16.99 Roman Style "Pinsa" Flatbread Crust - Item 1821404 OP spotted at Iwilei, Honolulu

savourtheflavor

$16.99? Seems steep when you can walk up front and get a $10 pizza.

jinx_mua

It might be more because this is in Hawaii

HereForFunAndCookies

How much is the food court pizza in Hawaii?

wwabc

four pineapples and a coconut

Pandamonium98

Dang, I left my pineapples in my other wallet

dc_IV

This you and your 1/2 full wallet???? https://preview.redd.it/ruiksuytut8d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b63c54fa44cab79d286ac1d44b86b9fe974fc3f8 /s /s /s

Is.. is he wearing orthotics ?? https://preview.redd.it/p76gd1rfnu8d1.jpeg?width=192&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=371c959210cd2ffbe8029b9c8de3327bbbfb2463

Dependent_Stop_3121

I’m guessing a Brazilian butt lift maybe?

owlBdarned

Dang, he got that Costco cake.

cwatson214

Is that a pineapple in your pocket, or are you... oh, right...

illusio

George Costanza has entered the chat.

TB1289

Best I can do is seven alohas and a mahalo.

JEStucker

but it's ohana... and ohana means family family means no one gets left behind.

SRGilbert1

those are worthless, they hand them out for free

wingm8

[$9.99](https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/18xtbof/kona_hawaii_food_court_what_is_on_the_menu/)

HereForFunAndCookies

So the take and bake's really are a bad deal.

Devilalfi

Why should I pay more if I'm doing the work to cook it and using my electricity and equipment? Only half the work done, it should be half the price! Half the work half the price! Half the work half the price! Half the work half the price!

armanese2

Because it’s a higher quality pizza with more ingredients ?

BluntsnBoards

$1 per topping is chain delicery rates and they're not even "premium" toppings

FavoritesBot

Or you want it fresh out the oven a few hours later

Weekly_Direction1965

Your average pizza only cost 70 cents -1.80$ to mass produce and that's with staff manning a store, these pizzas should be 7$, but if people are buying them why not charge them, after all the real price of something is set by the consumer and what they will actually pay.

Schwa142

That's for some really bad pizza. Food costs for good pizza is $3-10.

mikefellow348

Looks half the size too, should be $2.50

heeheehoho2023

Convenience fee

Tityfan808

Ya at that price point I might as well get take out pizzas from somewhere, otherwise I’m cool with the food court pizza. Can always put some in the freezer and bake em again later.

Chojen

It does have other toppings that they no longer offer but yea. It’s even worse than their generic frozen pizzas.

HereForFunAndCookies

$7 worth of toppings when the pizza that's better and cooked for you is $10 bucks? Nah

Chojen

Even before they were discontinued they were never a great deal. They were like $12, which is more reasonable as they had stuff like the margarita pizza but even back then hot pizza was the way to go imo.

Chojen

It’s the same price as everywhere else, $10, same for the hotdog.

kevlar51

I remember reading 10 or 15 years ago how even then Costco was a crazy good deal especially in Hawaii due to national pricing.

piratenoexcuses

9.99

Fncivueen

$2.00 - $1.99 (?) don’t remember Edit: $9.99 or $10.99 for full pie —- haven’t bought in awhile

Philaliscious

Is that also why they are square?

amithecrazyone69

It’s not square. It’s spam shaped.

warpedddd

Costco Doesn't Cut Corners™️

ChefJoe98136

To be fair, the old take and bakes just barely fit in my apartment's oven and round pizzas in square boxes weren't space efficient. If they're coming on a paper tray maybe they're trying to maximize how many can be prepped on the same time and avoiding gaps on a prep table.

exhausted1teacher

And why the toppings are applied counterclockwise.

noah_ichiban

Foot Court Pizza is $9.99 at the Costco I went to in Hawaii

lollykopter

This is the answer.

KSMO

Hawaii pricing

Gbcue

Can't get a combo up front.

Alewort

I can get neither combo or Margherita up front at my Costco.

Frosty_Cloud_2888

Right? Like $20 for 2 amazing hot pizzas

fakelogin12345

Come on now, amazing? Costco pizza is pizza for sure, but it’s definitely not amazing.

lusktildawn

All pizza is good pizza! 😉

fakelogin12345

Right it’s good, not amazing.

fuckedfinance

Hard disagree.

Reputation-Final

100%. its mediocre at best. Its quality is its quantity and price.

aakaase

I think it’s very tasty. Crust has good chew, sauce is zesty. I have to spice it up a little with red pepper flake. Definitely better than mediocre and more in the “quite good” category in my opinion.

Reputation-Final

Not a fan of the crust or sauce. Theres not much sauce, and it doesnt have any real flavor. Crust can be a bit cardboardy. Also pro pizza taste testers all universally rate it pretty badly.

aakaase

Yeah I admittedly am not too fussy but I think it’s equal to or better than the big three national pizza chains.

0-0_00_0-0

I consider myself a "professional pizza taste tester," and I think it tastes pretty good. But that's just my "professional pizza taste tester" opinion.

Reputation-Final

Alright. I'd disagree with you, but we all have opinions.

Eccohawk

You can always ask for extra sauce.

Reputation-Final

True. However, the sauce isnt good to me.

aakaase

It beats all the pizza chains, IMO. So for $10 it is a VERY good value.

fakelogin12345

Good value, sure. But not amazing.

aakaase

I’m gonna be charitable and say the person who originally said “amazing” probably meant the actual value; not so much the pizza itself

nick0n1

You do you my man, but I can't agree with your take. Sauce has too much sugar, way to much cheese, and the dough/crust is atrocious. Just doughy soft with no crust or leoparding to speak of.

PussyFoot2000

If you put a cold slice in the air fryer until the cheese is browned-ish and the crust is crunchy-ish... It can be pretty, somewhat, kinda killer

aakaase

Yeah if I were getting an entire pizza I’d ask them if they could run it through the oven twice. The packet of pepper flakes is definitely needed to spice it up a little. I think the crust has sufficient chew. I like it, I’d give it a B.

abhitchc

Bro, it’s actually pretty good…

fakelogin12345

Right, but not amazing.

mesorrymesosorry

It is amazing

cib2018

It used to be a lot better

GetMeASierraMist

2 brand new hot fresh delicious pizzas?

fuckleshire

Seems very overpriced when they sell so many cheaper pizza offerings

thehildabeast

In Hawaii I doubt it it’s probably $10 ish in the other 48.

FauxHumanBean

It will be 16.99 in every costco, I work in the deli

thehildabeast

Well that’s not great anywhere but Hawaii then.

RagnarWolfcock

^This.... I don't think I'll be trying it. I was hoping that it was only because it was Hawaii. It's like: take this hot delicious pizza we made for 10 bucks or you can pay us 70% more and go home and cook it yourself

lawlskooldude

Food court in Waipio had the same prices as anywhere else in the states. $9.99 for a za is such a good deal when living on Oahu

amsman03

Prices in hawaii are exactly the same for almost everything and is priced like all the rest of the stores in the Los Angeles area..... it's part of the same territory. The only exception to this are some local items only available in the Hawaii stores, but everything else (CLothing, patio furniture, TVs, etc.... abides by the LA region pricing.

griffindor11

Holy shit, I wonder if Costco is crazy busy in Hawaii because of this. Must be dirt cheap compared to other stores

_DJNeoN

OP's pic was taken at [the busiest Costco in the world](https://costco97.com/blog-post/busiest-costco-in-the-world/)

junesix

Wow, the top 5 busiest Costco are all Pacific Rim. Ring of Fire!

webtwopointno

Yeth

Full_Collection_4347

InsaneAdam

[$9.99](https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/18xtbof/kona_hawaii_food_court_what_is_on_the_menu/)

iamjackslackofmemes

> the other 48 What?

thehildabeast

I was too lazy to type out Continental United States aka not Alaska and Hawaii, like every fast food commercial has a note at the end that this deal doesn’t apply to those two states.

iamjackslackofmemes

Ah, gotcha. lol, why did we get downvoted?

HeathenHumanist

I upvoted you both back into the positive! Hate when genuine questions get downvoted. I'm always for people asking questions and learning new things.

PM_MeYourAvocados

The pizza itself comes frozen. Additional toppings are simply added. Stupidly easy to do at home. Though all of deli is convenience pricing.

RegisteredNarc

Costco, stop playing and bring the combo back to the food court.

Pseudophobic

They Detroit style or just shaped that way?

aManPerson

i just zoomed in and enhanced. that looks like the normal crust. it does not look like it has any frico or crisped edges. so it only looks square in shape. no evidence of pan cooking. thats still oven free ballin while cooking.

PlayStationPepe

Motor City Pizza 2-Pack for life tbh

aakaase

Those are sooooo good but sinfully so

x24601x

I’ve only seen the pepperoni version. Wish I could find just cheese!

angiexbby

Just pep? Our costco sells a combination version, there's pepperoni + sausage, forget what else

suddenly_summoned

All meat though so it’s super greasy. I could swear they had a supreme version for like a month two years ago but maybe it was a fever dream

sneaky-pizza

By me they only have the ultimate meat. I would kill for a veggie deluxe

richanngn8

i’ve been tossing goat cheese, onions and hot honey on these and it’s been a divine journey

sheaple_people

The Kirkland cauliflower supreme pizzas (2 pack frozen for $11.99(?)) are the bees knees because my store still hasn't/won't bring back supreme at the court.

Iwentthatway

Yeah, these are my fave even though I’m not gluten free. The crust crisps up so nicely

sheaple_people

I eat them for keto, they aren't because I eat the whole pizza but I still tell myself it's OK for keto.

ScytheSergeant

All of a sudden I cannot get mine to cook through. I cooked one for 30 minutes the other day and the top bit of dough was still squishy. I don’t have any issues with other stuff I make so I’m not sure it’s the oven but idfk

PlayStationPepe

Are you baking it straight on the rack?

ScytheSergeant

In the provided “pan” on the rack as directed

PlayStationPepe

What temp are you baking the pizza at?

ScytheSergeant

Whatever temp the box says, I think 425

PlayStationPepe

My trick to that is to foil cover the top and cook for about 2/3 of the way. Then the remaining time, move the rack up closer the element and let it crisp up the top.

ScytheSergeant

I'll have to give that a try, I've bought it a few more times because it is SO good when cooked, appreciate it!

PlayStationPepe

I’d recommend for the foil not to wrap it tight just pinch it around the tray but allow air to circulate around it. You don’t want to “steam the pizza” but you do want to get the mid level to the bottom crust crispy.

FrustrationSimulator

Can I "take" my combo pizza over to the food court and ask them to "bake" it for me?

InsaneAdam

And they'll give you $5.99 back for letting them bake it and slice it for you.

warpedddd

Maybe no one would notice if you used a display toaster oven.

bullinchinastore

😂

EndlessSummerFan

This is exactly why I never understood the papa Murphys biz model

doiwantto

Papa Murphy’s can accept food stamp cards since it’s considered a grocery item, instead of ready to eat food. When I was super poor, it was the only way I could get a decent pizza for my kid.

kevlar51

This is the correct answer. Papa Murphy’s found the loophole.

webtwopointno

Not just them, Fresh Fried Fish places are another setup like that.

droans

It's also a great price for the size and quality, too.

APsWhoopinRoom

Papa Murphy's does well in areas where the best cooked pizza comes from Dominoes or Papa John's. It doesn't make sense for people that live in areas that have decent pizza

foamy_da_skwirrel

I still liked it because it was cheap and plentiful

psychic2ombie

I regularly got coupons in my mail during college for 3 for 1 deals and stuff. Yeah I was forced to get 1 topping, but damn 3 pizzas is 3 pizzas

dalerus

When I was a kid Papa Murphy's was the afforable option in my town. Now it's not any cheaper than a normal pizza place. No idea how it still stays in business.

Faptasmic

You monster.. I saw "combo is back" and got all excited.

hockeygirl1427

I never thought these tasted that great. It was way different from the food court pizza.

somethingwholesomer

I liked them fine but not for $17

SargathusWA

Hard pass 16.99 is way to expensive

Stilgrave

The deli went from 18 items to 62528594 items in the last 3 year. I feel sorry for them.

hostile65

Corporate management is too out of touch with the average customers anymore.

laststance

I think they couldn't offer old items at low prices at anymore so they had to come up with new items since the consumer wouldn't be as anchored to the old price.

Gadzooks149

this is my belief. Deli has changed it's platter prices (newest is $50, old croissant was $39.99), cut old items (goodbye Ravioli Lasagna, hello $18 Meatballs & Rigatoni), and now is bringing back take and bake pizzas at $17 (pepp/cheese used to be $9/8 nearly a decade ago). You see the same thing in the food court. Churros came back "enhanced with a twist" and cost $1 more. Turkey & provolone sandwich? nope. It's a cold Turkey and Swiss and costs $4 more. Chicken Caesar Salad now with "Rotisserie Chicken!" for $1 (or $2?) more I always expected Combo Pizza to come back as a "Specialty Pizza" that cost more, i just never expected it in the Deli

gloriosky_zero

Mahalo

Responsible-Yak2993

God I miss the combo pizza 😭

UsusalVessel

I’ll stick with the Detroit city motor co pizza

Docmantistobaggan

I pay like 25 for an actually good quality large pizza around me. I’m not cooking one in my oven for 16.99

ColdasJones

$10 for a hot and fresh pizza, $16 to bake it yourself. Stonks

flyflySpanish

Costco just bring back the combo at the foodcourts!

Dark_Focus

I’ll even pay $16.99 for it!

MindRaptor

$17 is actually kind of expensive for a frozen pizza. Like I can get fresh pizza for that amount. Is it bigger than it looks? Better than their regular pizza?

Old-Nefariousness556

Without disagreeing with your main point, these aren't frozen. They are made fresh in the deli. But you're right that they are too expensive, regardless.

Captain_MK13

That price is absolute joke

Low_Wall_7828

$17 seems a bit much

fernet_about_it

That green Kirkland New Zealand grass fed butter tho….

Slow_Art_5365

Where are the pepperoni?

IAmBatman1984

Hmm. Perhaps that explains why there are pizza ovens on sale at my store.

knowslesthanjonsnow

You could just buy a pizza for the same price without the work

nahcekimcm

Now sell the cooked version of this in food court

ch3rie

Why can’t there ever be no pork options? 😑

Gears6

Damn! Inflation? Didn't those use to cost $10?

nxtiak

Hawaii prices.

Suspicious_Water_123

Are they greater than 254 in^2 ?

DDrewit

An estimated weight would be nice too!

dudly825

These are terrible. The food court pizza or Kirkland brand frozen pizzas are both significantly better.

Killowatt59

That seems pretty pricey for me. Hard pass.

DavidDPerlmutter

That's interesting. I've never seen at Costco some sort of statement like "X is back." I assumed that it was in their style guide, never to say in print that something is "back"...or ever left? I thought that was part of their brand distinction.

hostile65

Sign looks like a locally produced non-corporate style.

TheOriginalSpartak

Was at mine today, no joy.

Powerth1rt33n

Curious to see if this makes its way to my location, I’ll give it a try if it does

hazmat962

I’m hoping it’ll be back at my local Costco!

meep221b

Marguerite pizza was my favorite as a kid. My mom said we had to stop buying them because we got them too often because so tasty

J3t5et

Taking advantage of the downfall of Papa Murphy’s I suppose lol

boxedfoxes

I will not compromise I want my hot and ready combo back.

soundmagnet

Why are they rectangle?

lollykopter

Def gonna look for this tomorrow. Thanks!

ADU22

The combo wasn’t as good as the original

RockyJayyy

Where's the pepperoni?

Wolfie-Man

I like $8 aldi take and bake Supreme. I cut into slices and put in freezer bags so it doesn't spoil.

climbhigher420

I would expect a Hawaiian pizza for that price.

JustTheOneGoose22

$16.99 wtf? Why would anyone buy this? You can get a large one topping pizza from just about anywhere for the same price or cheaper.

briinde

Including at the food court at the Costco you’re already at

nxtiak

Hawaii prices

Physical-Beach-4452

I want this in Georgia

Survive1014

This is great news. Costco Customers need some wins IMHO.

mikefellow348

Shape is weird ? What happened to $9.99. I want it in the food court.

nxtiak

It's Hawaii, everything costs more there.

AskThis7790

How much is the food court pizza in Hawaii?

BlackWalmort

Hell yeah I loved these

jmartin2683

$16.99 and it’s frozen? Lol

AskThis7790

Interesting that the “take-n-bake” is 70% more expensive than a “hot-n-ready”?

freshapocalypse

That’s kinda pricey for a frozen pizza when I can get a fresh one from a pizzeria for less.

HarveyNix

Weird to post the sign on a cross, tho.

Old-Nefariousness556

That pizza died for your sins. You damn well better appreciate it!

Axiomatically

It’s on a t-bar where signing is usually hung. Seems more out of place since there isn’t other signing at each end of the t-bar. Should’ve placed it in an acrylic sign holder.

CaviarTaco

Combo pizza died for your sins, now he is risen

Gbcue

It's not. Those are wires.

BBakerStreet

Are they square now?

ShinyArticuno_420

Your moms a square Sorry I’m high

swingdeznutz

no thanks, I rather get the already cook ones for $6 cheaper

Apprehensive_Bad8876

$16.99? i’ll go to dominos.

Omnom_Omnath

All frozen pizzas are take n bake.
