In here is a list of feeders. Dubias and crickets are like the top tier ones usually
Mine gets the ick from dubias. I now have a bunch of pet dubias because of this. Lol. They're also part of my cleaning crew in my kings enclosure. I call them his pets.
Totally agree, I just got dubias and I put them on the top drawer of one of those plastic 3 tier things with a little paper towel and egg carton pieces for them to chill in. And they just hangout, I feed them gecko diet and kitchen scraps. I will say my female goes ham for them and really anything that moves but my male couldn't be less interested in them, I'll leave them in there for a day or 2 and he won't eat them so I just give them to my female.
Live insects are not a completely necessary part of a crestie diet! As long as you’re feeding gecko diet with insects (my boy loves the Fig & Insects), you’re good to go!
Maybe wait until you live under your own roof so you can buy what you want when you want. Meal worms maybe theyll go for but if they dont like crickets or locusts i highly doubt roaches will be better for them in their house lol
Dubias are the ideal feeder, easy to get, and easy to keep.
Turkistan roaches also make good feeders, but they do need help incubating their egg cases.
Mine will only eat crickets. Tried other insects and he won't touch them. Lol. Only problem I have with crickets is every so often I either seem to get a bad batch, or something I don't notice wipes them out. Thankfully they're cheap. If it's the chirping your parents don't like, get small crickets. They usually seem quieter, for me. And if you don't get to many, then feeding about 3 once or twice a week will go through them before they get big. Of course you could get lucky and get a crested that isn't as picky as mine. You could also go with Pangea or other similar food that has everything so insects aren't strictly necessary.
I use exclusively Dubia's for live insects, and some gecko diet type stuff as well.
Dubia's don't smell that bad, don't jump, are slow and easy to pick up with your fingers and best of all are SILENT.
They are also top-tier crestie food, so I would highly recommend getting some. The only "catch" is that, at least my crestie, will not eat them any bigger than what my local shop calls "medium", the largest dubias are too big.
Waxworms are a staple for us, they’re pure fat which is good for gaining weight. When I don’t want to give him fattening stuff I give him the smallest sized dubia roaches.
From what i read, dubia and crickets are the best insects feeders for cresties, but it is not required if you feed your gecko pangea with insects. Although having insects in the diet helps your gecko grow faster and bigger than just powder diet. I suggested you can check what your gecko like to eat besides crickets to determine what other insects to feed them. Mine literally wont eat any other insects but crickets and if the insects is not moving he won’t even touch it.
dubia roaches, mealworms, or sometimes black soldier fly larvae. thankfully cresties don’t need a diet with a lot of bugs and certain mixes of the powdered diet contains bugs in it already

Just make sure to avoid feeding them too much protein. Keeping their diet low in protein helps to deplete uric acid, which can be an issue for geckos.
I'll keep it in mind thank you!!

I asked them, and they don't mind roaches because "They aren't as jumpy," so I might (if they let me get a crested gecko) feed it dubias!

Dubia roaches are great, and Cresties don’t need live feeding

You don’t need live feeders. Crested gecko diet is nutritionally complete.
