Naw the strawberry shortcake was over rated and it was mid

DakotaNoLastName33

Agree 😂 tbh I think Crumbl as a whole is overrated. There’s maybe been like 2 cookies that I like that actually has flavor out of like idk 30 cookies I’ve personally had

CowGroundbreaking872

Yup, I read the ingredients. It’s a basic white cake mix with vanilla pudding added, real sweetened whipped cream, vanilla, and fresh strawberry topping. Very easy to make at home.

komorrr

There were a few people who mentioned the pie filling was purchased, which reminds me of that school cafeteria/hospital over-sugared sloppy fruit. Cornbread is actually one of my favorite though, but I like cornbread and I'm a huge texture eater

DakotaNoLastName33

I think there’s an obsession to have some kind of buttercream on their cookies which just neutralizes the flavor (in my opinion, may vary from person to person). Cornbread cookie probably would’ve tasted better without the buttercream and maybe even slightly less sugar in their cookies. The sweetness is what took away the corn flavor for me. I love honey on my cornbread but the corn flavor was so subtle it got overpowered by the other elements and left honey as the star

snf6

The cornbread is literally a shortbread cookie. Go to the store and buy a shortbread cookie, they taste the same. I don’t get cornbread flavor at all lol

jgarmartner

I thought it tasted like a gritty sugar cookie. I still ate it but it would have been more pleasant if it was half as sweet with a honey drizzle.

snf6

Yes gritty describes it pretty well. So maybe that reminds people of cornbread, but it doesn’t taste like cornbread lol

MochiMasu

I think the whole line is overhyped, Lol

_queen_frostine

I bought into the cornbread hype the last time it was offered. I didn't like it at all - too gritty tasting and the butter cream was *too* much for me.

This_Baseball_9240

I finished mine but wouldn’t buy it again

n4tureluvr

s’mores was so overhyped too. the marshmallow was fucking nasty.

This_Baseball_9240

It just tastes like their milk chocolate chip which I think is kind of bad

no_one_hi

I agree with the cornbread (I didn’t even try apple pie based on it looking so unappetizing). I really liked it but to me it didn’t really taste like cornbread, it tasted like a chocolate chip cookie without any chocolate and some honey/butter. It’s good, but could be more flavorful

Jay-Quellin30

Listen I think some things are definitely overhyped but for me cornbread lives up to the hype. It is so good.

Nevagonnagetit510

I agree, they could’ve done SO much more to make the apple pie great. A scoop of the vanilla bean mousse and a caramel drizzle would’ve gone a long way. Just laziness.

DakotaNoLastName33

I wish Crumbl would give franchise owners the option to work with local farmers. There’s a farmer near me who makes caramel cinnamon honey (it’s so good tbh) that I think would’ve been a better topper for the cornbread cookie and/or the pie cookie in addition to the apples

Hearsya

Cornbread was WACKK

You're not wrong, coming from someone who loves sugar. It's one of the things I complain about the most in my reviews - not enough flavor to live up to the names, resulting in very basic cookies. I still go because I want to explore more of their lineup but this is definitely the trend

shoelover46

You're not the only one that has been burned from people overhyping cookies in here.

PrayForMojo78

the 'honey' on the cornbread is also cheap ass honey which just tastes like sweet and not really like honey

SimpleVegetable5715

Wait, it's like basic ass clover honey or a step down like the "honey flavored syrup" at the dollar stores? It better at least be real honey. I'm not expecting some raw local stuff, but it better be real honey and not flavored syrup.

PrayForMojo78

I don't work there so I can't be sure but based on the taste, its honey flavored syrup for sure. I dont like the fake honey at all and when I had the cornbread last time it tasted like sweet, not like honey. IMO theres no way its actual honey

SimpleVegetable5715

I had one yesterday, it didn't have a strong honey or corn taste. But the butter flavor definitely came through. The crunch and buttery softness in the middle was spot on, that was so good. Mine had drizzles of honey in the box, I dipped my finger in to try. It really was some weak honey or a flavored syrup. Maybe that's why they call it a "glaze".

CowGroundbreaking872

I had the cornbread cookie once to see what the hype was about. It was ok but not better than an average cornbread muffin. One and done for me.

SimpleVegetable5715

I want more apple chunks in the apple pie than what I've seen, and crumb topping (come on the place is called Crumbl! They skimped on the Strawberry cookie a few weeks too). I'm thinking of getting another smores or cornbread instead of this one. Can't imagine an apple pie with just fruit gel except those off brand apple pies at, yes, hospitals 🤣 I think cornbread has a special place in my heart because I grew up with family in restaurant management, at places that served cornbread. Like Boston Market's (let's be real and call it corn cake because it's so sweet). Then the Cracker Barrel cornbread that you soak in honey and whipped butter. Ugh, it's like a nostalgia thing if you grew up with sweet cornbread. I was too depressed to go today, but dammit, I'm going tomorrow after work. Can't miss that cookie.

Latter_Chipmunk_4798

I skipped both of those this week. Thanks for reminding me that they aren't all that!

Massive-Process-5124

The apple pie cookie looks so unappetizing
