While I agree with the sentiment, the lightning isn’t a real truck either. Super limited range, especially with any kind of load. It’s a real truck in looks only, not functionality.
I don’t need to watch a range test, I drive one for work. With a cab full of four people, range was diminished to around 70% of the estimate on flat ground highway driving. It’s too bad battery tech is not up to snuff because it’s a nice truck otherwise. I’m looking forward to solid state batteries because this is essentially an in-town novelty until then. I’m in a rural area with very little charge infrastructure, and I can’t dedicate a portion of my field day to sitting at a charge station either.
It’s amazing to me the levels these people will go to in order to avoid blaming Tesla or their car or Elon for anything. The amount of posts from actual owners about all the problems and quality issues with Tesla vehicles, any other brand would have had a huge class action lawsuit long ago. False! Payload in the bed barely affects range, only towing usually depletes the range faster. Watch some range tests and see!
