A mix of the DCAU and YJ. Or just go left field and pick DC Universe Online

Alarming_Half5405

Based DCUO mention.

Fluffy_Mark_9314

Well, since I got here first I’m just gonna let you know probably everyone is going to say DCAU. And they’re right.

NotLozerish

The one in my imagination

Captain_No-Ship

Preach! The amount of things I’ve just decided should be canon in the DC universe, and the quote on quote proper way to make a movie universe is crazy!!

10CalGX

It's fine if it is not from these choices

TFfan624

The MCU is not the “definitive” Marvel universe by any definition of the word

doctordoom85

Not what the OP said. They said definitive “outside of the comics”.

KingMatthew116

Imo. The definitive Marvel universe that’s not a comic is either the Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes cartoon or the Lego Marvel Superheroes videogame, not the MCU.

Monty141

Yeah. The MCU didn't have the X-Men and Fantastic Four, who are HUGE Marvel figures. Yes that was due to limitations. But that also limited just how "definitive" it can be

Mountain_Sir2307

Well they're fixing that soon enough.

Monty141

Be that as it may, we're not going to be seeing Iron Man, Black Widow or Captain America interact with them. Nor do I reckon we'll be seeing much of Thor, Hawkeye, Hulk or other of the original founding members of the Avengers interact with the X-Men or Fantastic Four

Ill_Koala_4407

No when people think of marvel outside of comics it’s the MCU

Electric_jungle

It isn't even remotely debatable

jeruthemaster

I’d also add Ultimate Alliance

Mighty_Megascream

True

ImmortalZucc2020

*looks awkwardly at comics, TV, and games falling in line with its canon*

Grumblepuck

DCAU

fortresskeeper

The DCAU

OjamasOfTomorrow

I think the most beloved by most would probably be the DCAU, but Arrowverse is my favorite.

Future_Vantas

Arrowverse was junk most of the time but it did build up a solid live action version of the DC Universe. It covered quite a bit, from the street level stuff to superpowers to time travel and multiverse. Even more than the annual crossovers I loved seeing all the little nods to the other shows, like a magazine cover of Mayor Oliver Queen or the Legends contacting the DEO to deal with aliens.

SamDrawsStuff99999

Lego Games. No contest.

thefanciestcat

None and that's the problem with WB's treatment of DC in film and television.

TomTheJester

DCAU - Batman TAS, Justice League, Batman Beyond etc. doesn’t get more definitive than that.

Rusty_fox4

I would have liked to see what The Batman (2004) was planning with its Justice League.

Future_Vantas

And that tease of Batgirl and Robin starting up a "teen division" of the League

Tales2Estrange

Brave and the Bold by a wide margin.

ComicKing404

Goated BATB mention

Traditional-You-5771

DCAU and Brave and the Bold

Ashamed_Pin4206

DCAU/YJ/DCUO

Ok-Average-6466

Arrowverse

Beastieboy100

There are 3 universes that have had that whole universe feel similar to X men 97 and MCU. Dcau, Young justice and Batman brave and the bold.

ImmaculateWeiss

Honestly the Arrowverse one is our first real live action JL, and I’ve spent 12+ years with them at this point, so them

Future_Vantas

Hate that the team formed after CW COIE didnt get to call themselves the Justice League. They earned the buildup to the League forming unlike the movie version.

Mericanjoe1776

I'd be surprised if anybody didn't say the DCAU. Putting nostalgia aside, it really got to the heart of many of DC Characters and introduced young viewers (myself included) to a wide swath of underrepresented and underappreciated characters. I'd even go as far as to say that many of the people in this subreddit wouldn't have gotten into DC comics, and maybe even comics in general, had it not been for the DCAU. I know that's definitely true for me.

HowDyaDu

/j My fanfiction

Retrosow

DCAU and sometimes the Young Justice universe

Blue-Lion-Lover

Dcau + YJ + Lego Games/Films (not the cinematic ones)

Mighty_Megascream

I really wouldn’t consider the MCU definitive personally, too many major differences from the comics and some really poorly handled characters

klaguerre97

Personal Favorite: DCAU Objectively Speaking: Batman the Brave and the Bold as it seamlessly integrated multiple generations of heroes relatively accurately through a retro lense. Not to say other's haven't but that show leaned into as much DC lore as it could including the wacky parts.

WillandWillStudios

The Timm/ Dini era with a shoutout to Young Justice's great approach to world building/ lore (glad Gunn is taking influence from these titles)

SHAD0W-W0LF-114

SnyderVerse, DCAMI, Lego, YJ

Captain_No-Ship

Look, the DCAU is good, but I didn’t grow up on that. The one that I’d consider the closest in scale would be the Arrowverse. I loved YJ, but I’d never say it’s the definitive DC MCU after season 2 (loved season 1 but couldn’t get by the fact that Wally is basically gone from season 2, Kon and Meg were broken up and there was a whole ass 5 year time gap!!) But I’d also consider the Lego games to be a pretty good definitive DC MCU!!

Cobbster9333

While I think the "obvious" answer is the DCAU or the Animated Movie Universe.. my favorite and the one that I feel understood characters the best, was Brave and the Bold. All of the characters actually felt close to their comic characters, and it truly made everything in that universe actually feel connected

NerdNuncle

Young Justice

Professional-Fan654

a mix of Batman the Brave and the Bold, JLU, and YJ

BogieW00ds

On no planet is the MCU the definitive universe.

10CalGX

I feel like I might be saying this based on some people’s perception

boneseaba

What would you say is outside of comics?
