I’ve had really good luck with the shower-specific version of 3M Command Strips. They held up a shower caddy in my old apartment for years without fail. Just be sure to clean the surface really well with rubbing alcohol, then let the strip adhesive cure overnight before putting anything in the caddy or running the shower.
My command soap dish just went kaput as the tray part eroded and bent from the wall mount part. Adhesives held strong and were easy to take down…all of this after 5 years of use! Was pleasantly surprised by this compulsive buy and definitely worth the money. The command metal all wire caddy is still going strong. Easy to remove for cleaning too.
You could use these telescopic shower rods with baskets, that are clamped in the corner without drilling. I dont know the exact english word for it, but you should find some if you google these terms.
Those do work but I've had them indent my ceiling after a few years, and on plastic tubs similar. I stopped using the tension rods and just hang with adhesive strips now.
I used those in every rental that needed it, but they were always tough to keep clean (plastic) or rust-free (metal), so I bought a new one every time I moved. Now I just keep everything on the tub edges like an animal.
There are also racks you just hang off the shower head. I had one with 3 big shelves that was plenty to hold a lot of products.
Something like [this](https://a.co/d/3OB1kOR).
Just look for "hanging shower caddy"
We recently got one at Costco. They have a great return policy, so if it doesn't work well or hold up, you can bring it back. So far ours is great though!
I’ve used these for years in all my bathrooms. Game changer. I buy the OXO aluminum one. I have two, and I’ve used them for 4 years so far. No corrosion on the metal. No discoloration on the plastic. Supports a lot of weight - my housemates use a ton of product lol. Looks really modern and attractive.
They are expensive, but I think by this point they’ve paid for themselves, in that I’d have had to buy several cheaper shelves by this point.
These baskets come with their own adhesive squares and we had two sets of baskets for 7 years in one place and now 3 years here. Look up "shower caddies corner".

These are incredible, we’ve had them up in our bathroom and our kids bathroom for a couple of years now with no rusting or falling off (and my kids are not gentle with anything).
These were great until we moved and had to get them off. They do not remove well, or easily.
However, if they are a permanent solution, this can only be a plus.
Should say I did get them off, though some sort of metal insert was essential. I wound up using and wrecking a moisturizer applicator of my girlfriend's, which did the job better than any of the scraping/prying tools I had
Big tip that I rarely see people suggest:
place the suction cups in shallow hot (bring water to a boil then pour it into a baking sheet for example) and let them sit In it for a few min then immediately suction them to the wall. This will ensure they get an amazing grip and shouldn’t come off! I used this method and it hasn’t failed me!
Also, clean the wall well with alcohol or whatever.
Then when you suction it to the wall, and don’t put anything in the basket for at least overnight for it all to dry securely. Basically anything that uses a suction cup does 1000% better when it dries in place before taking the load.
Alternatively use clear silicone adhesive and when you move out just carefully use a razor blade to get it off.
The ones that hang off the pipe will eventually cause a leak in that pipe head due to the weight of the soap bottles . Then guess what ? Insurance will not cover the damage. True story .
The ikea suction cup racks- the white plastic ones- seem really good, I've never had one fall off. Getting the tile really clean first with something like isoprpyl alcohol helps- soap etc leaves a residue.
Use a corner caddy extension pole setup instead. You can buy them in different lengths so they will fit tub or shower floor. And do it in stainless, because stainless wont rust out. Something like this Corner Shower Caddy Tension Pole: adjustable 47-121 inch with several baskets https://a.co/d/cpmJJ0B
On mine, I put some silicone sealer around the inside of the suction cup & applied it to the tile. Let it fully set before applying any weight to it. It's been about a year now without falling off. I figured it's pretty non-destructive, won't hurt the tile. I can just scrape it off if I don't want it there anymore. Whether or not it works for you will probably depend on how well it sticks to whatever material your suction cup is made of. Worth a try.
If you don't want to buy a whole new caddy, or mess with the tension rods, these are a very good option. Clean the tile you want it mounted on with rubbing alcohol and make sure there's no debris or soap scum left over, then you just peel and stick. Mine have held up for two years strong even with removing the basket every month to clean the shower. Make sure to not to put the basket up or use the shower for about 12 hours after applying to let the adhesive set properly.
8 Pack Shower Caddy Adhesive for Replacement, Strong Transparent Adhesive for Shower Caddy Sticky Pads, No Drilling for Corner Shelf Basket, Bathroom Storage Shelves, Kitchen Racks and Soap Holder https://a.co/d/dMENVxP
You don't necessarily have to drill the tile itself. You can drill in between too if you got the right screw & anchor size. It is less risky. You aren't gonna be holding much weight on that so using small screws shouldn't be a problem.
Else 3M strips is probably the next best solution.
Depending on your shower you may not have to drill anything.
We have one of [these](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Adjustable-Tension-Steel-Shower-Pole-Caddy-3-Shelves-60-96-White-Finish/357228318?athbdg=L1103&from=/search) and it's been great. It just tensions against your floor and ceiling a bit. There are nicer looking ones like this.
I have this in in my shower [Zenna Home® Corner Shower Tension Pole Caddy](https://www.menards.com/main/bath/bathroom-hardware-coordinates/shower-caddies-organizers/zenna-home-reg-corner-shower-tension-pole-caddy/2156nn/p-1571207381131-c-1537987142201.htm?exp=false). It works well.
I have one of these and it works great, but just use it for loofas. I have use the 3m things before for shower stuff as well, but not for heavier things. For our shampoo/etc we have a corner shelf that has a spring to stay tight between tub and wall. Dirt cheap at Walmart and 10 years and still holding
I got these

For about $15 Canadian on sale, they have worked amazingly since January. Zero issues attached to white subway tile in the shower.
get the ones that hang in the corner and taped to both walls. use 3M bath strips. You can get the corner ones from ikea. 4 years and we put bottles, etc. on it - has not failed a single time.
These work well
[shower hooks](http://Vin Beauty 10Pcs Adhesive Hooks, Clear Hooks, Plastic Hooks, Wall Hooks for Hanging, Drill-Free Wall Hooks, Seamless Hooks, Heavy Duty Hooks for Kitchen Bathroom https://a.co/d/7wyihz8)
I always drill and install a plastic cabinet knob with a stainless steel screw with caulk. Even in rentals. I’ve never had a landlord come back to me with a concern.
Amazon has hanging baskets with some kind of 3M sheet w/ hooks to hold them. They stick to the subway tile in my shower.
Edit: these. https://a.co/d/0YUDIs0
This OXO brand corner shelf has been magical for me in one of our showers. You need to have smooth tile and a corner with a 90 degree angle, but it doesn’t use adhesive or suction. It has tacky rubber pads that grip the tile and you press a lever on the front to lock tension on the pads against the walls. I’ve had it loaded with multiple heavy shampoo bottles and it hasn’t fallen in over 4 years.
OXO Good Grips Press-Sure Corner... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007POQ9EA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I used the baskets from my old corner shower caddy where the zinc plated pole would rust all the time and fall. I then made a custom single piece of copper pipe made it fit with the spring assembly, painted the baskets and affixed them how I liked it's been 8 years and has not broken since.
I went with this basket that uses an adhesive. It's removable but otherwise sticks very well.
TOPCHASE Corner Shower Caddy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFF5XZTW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Oxo shower pole caddy! That sucker did not move for the 2 years we used it before our recent bathroom remodel. It’s aluminum so no rust and the shelves held a surprising amount of weight. I’m a total shampoo snob and get liter bottles from beauty supply (thanks mom!) and the thing didn’t even register having 4 liters of products among other shower bits and bobs. It’s expensive but seriously looks brand new 2 years later. https://www.oxo.com/quick-extend-aluminum-pole-caddy.html
Alternatively in our remodel we’ve added these corner shelves from schluter. Looks like they can be installed after grouting so that could be an option too. https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Shower-System/Accessories/Shelves/Schluter®-SHELF-E/p/SHELF_E
It wouldn't be an issue if you didn't overload the basket, you're putting more weight that it can handle.
It'll still be the same result even if you used 3M strips, just get a 2nd basket and split the load.
If you don’t wanna spend any extra money you can clean the surface really well with rubbing alcohol, then wipe the suction cups with a microfibre cloth and a bit of alcohol to remove any dust or debris they might have on them. After that spray the place you want to suction the cups with hairspray and then place your suction cups.
I had a basket fall off every 2 weeks or so and now it’s been solid for many months.
If you're open to not using baskets: I'm really really happy with my wall-mounted soap dispenser. Gives a lot more control over the amount of product I'm using. I simply fixed the back plate with some generic brand construction adhesive to the tiles. Has worked like a charm for the past \~5 years.
Thank you to all who commented! The stripper-pole style rods looked great, but didn’t have the space. It’s a very small shower stall the size of a telephone box. Alas!
Went with some adhesive corner baskets, which some folks recommended. Since I’m caulking the bathroom atm, I’m going to experiment with caulking around the top of the adhesive pads, to keep moisture out of there, too. Thank you!
What about using 2 suction cups like you have? One would fall and be reattached before the second falls too. Maybe in a corner would work even better. So you keep the advantages of nothing permanent/reusable (unlike 3M), and it's kind of cheap.
Bought a bag of these hooks that come with square plastic pieces that have a sticky side. Each one is rated to hold up to 25 lbs so I used one in the shower to hold a slightly larger basket than this one and it does a great job.
My kids’ shower has a lip all around the top (it’s a one piece unit) so I put a second tension rod toward the wall and they hang everything from that. Not sure how yours is set up but it works well with no drilling or hope.
Keep the basket, buy these: They're almost permanant but I removed one that was stuck for 2 years, used some goo gone and the residue was gone within minutes. Solid AF and very strong, holds up to my wife's magma hot showers and humidity no problems

Amazon sells shower shelves that have a great 3m stick pad. These have worked well for me.
Tip: use a hair dryer to warm the 3m sheet & press firmly into grout lines & tile. Let that sit for 24 hours before hanging shelf.
They make versions with a suction cup where you press it and then twist which holds the suction tight. They work great.
I have a similar system that I use to hold a luggage rack on my car. If a luggage rack holding a suit case going 75MPH can hold on, a shower basket should be fine.
Seen this at a few places
HOMEASY Bathroom Shower Shelf, Shower Caddy/Tidy No Drilling Shower Holders Storage for Soap Shampoo Shower Rack Hanging with Buckle and Shower Head Hook Suit 19mm-25mm Shower Rail https://amzn.eu/d/16TxXZG
I did an alternative to baskets: towel rods. I put 1 on either end of the shower/tub wall, they were drilled in, but depending on your set up you could even use a tension rod. Then I place all my items onto it and they lean against the walls. Keeps bottles dry on the bottoms, easy to grab and I'm still loving the look about 5 or 6 years now. I just added a really thin soap dish that I used double sided tape to stick to the rod and it had a little lip on 1 side that rests against the wall and I taped it too, so that takes care of my soap, my razor and a few other littles. I also put robe hooks that match the towel rods below the rods for hanging stuff - like shower poufs - and on the opposite wall for wet towels, so all the shower stuff is confined to the shower. I'm in NYC so space is a premium.
Suction cups suck, go figure. Get one of those telescopic rods that are spring loaded and come with a couple of baskets. Preferrably aluminium or stainless, the cheap ones will rust.
I was not keen on these, but having used them for a while I think they are the best solution for a shower with no built-in shelves. You can store a lot on the 3 shelves in our shower and it's easy to keep clean.
I have no helpful advice but my ikea version of this that uses the same suction style hooks randomly fell off yesterday after about a year? Maybe more?
I know this will make a big outcry in the USA, but in Germany we just drill between the tiles and screw that in.
That's because the buildings here are not made out of cardboard.
It depends on where op lives.
Danke! I don’t have an issue drilling per-se. I just didn’t construct the bathroom myself so not sure what’s behind the tiles, or what damp-proofing membrane is there etc.
This is UK :)
Edit: lol @ cardboard. This is a postwar reinforced concrete structure. You need an SDS drill to hang a picture.
Solid solution: Mr diamond drill bit in tile
Good solution 3M strips
Simple solution: get 2 of those hangers in picture, attach them on either side. The chances of them both failing at the same time are minute, if one fails it hangs crooked but not everything falls. You remediate it and re-vacuum-attach it once you see it hanging tilted
I’ve had wonderful success changing to a set that came with waterproof epoxy to mount with, and I’ve also had success with any 3M adhesive hooks. Neither required advanced tools and both have help up over a year with constant weight on them.
I had no idea this was a thing! Thanks!
Second this. They've been up for 3 years now at my house
Same, but 6 years!
It's been 84 years
7 generations and ours is still hanging on 👌🏽
Yep, ours are now a showcase in the local historical museum, right next to the Neanderthal tools, and mammoth skeleton.
My Dad (God) put some up in his bathing chamber shortly before creating everything you know, and they're still holding up just fine.
Updoot for the laugh.
Just follow the instructions to a T
My command soap dish just went kaput as the tray part eroded and bent from the wall mount part. Adhesives held strong and were easy to take down…all of this after 5 years of use! Was pleasantly surprised by this compulsive buy and definitely worth the money. The command metal all wire caddy is still going strong. Easy to remove for cleaning too.
I didn't know they had shower ones. I just stick the regular ones on lol.
The shower ones are great - the backing is blue and printed with little water drops.
I did not know that they made shower specific ones. I used a non-shower one in the shower last year that lasted about six months.
How do you clean around it?
The caddy slides onto clips that are held On with Command strips. You can lift the caddy from the clips to clean the wall behind the caddy.
Can you link these? I find many command strips but not specific for shower unless it's a hook?

I've used pattex tape rated for 100+kg and that mf is incredible, I hang two heavy bathrobes on it everyday and that bastard still holds, it's amazing
I have a 3m double sided tape one. I tried to take it off the other day. Tried. May as well be bolted on.
Same!!
You could use these telescopic shower rods with baskets, that are clamped in the corner without drilling. I dont know the exact english word for it, but you should find some if you google these terms.
2nd this i have one and it solid
Oooh. I didn’t know this was a thing.
Its like tension rods used for curtains like a shower curtain except it's vertical and is pressing against the roof and tub/shower to stay in place.
Oxo makes an aluminum one that doesn’t rust. It’s a freaking tank!
If they indented it was because they were over extended. The sheetrock behind will crush if you overextend.
Yeah if they made them smart they're include large flat bits of plastic you can stick at each end to spread the pressure and not dent your ceiling.
It is definitely a thing. Corner Shower Tension Pole: this is one of many types ... https://a.co/d/cpmJJ0B

I've been using one of these for several years. Works well.
Hello, do you know if a squeegee reaches behind those shelves? Or is it impossible to squeegee behind them? Thank you.
Yeah, this has worked fine for me.
I’ve noticed those end up rusting with the constant water hitting it. From my experience they end up staining the tub with rust stains
I've noticed that there are two categories: expensive ($100+) or cheap (~$40). In this case it's worth it to get the expensive one.
and stainless doesn't rust right out like cheaper so make sure it is stainless

They got ones that hang off of the pipe where the shower head comes out… used to have one

Command Strips FTW!!
I have one that hangs from the faucet and is pressed against the wall wjth 2 layers it's pretty epic.
3M VHB tape
I have one of these and it works great, but just use it for loofas. I have use the 3m things before for shower stuff as well, but not for heavier things. For our shampoo/etc we have a corner shelf that has a spring to stay tight between tub and wall. Dirt cheap at Walmart and 10 years and still holding
I got these https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09NRNVMZ4?ref=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_XDC7F7CWB3WFKH8FG42R&ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_XDC7F7CWB3WFKH8FG42R&social_share=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_XDC7F7CWB3WFKH8FG42R&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1 For about $15 Canadian on sale, they have worked amazingly since January. Zero issues attached to white subway tile in the shower.
Do u have a shower head? Or do you need that mounted? I’d say just get thing that hangs from the shower head. Or maybe hooks?
get the ones that hang in the corner and taped to both walls. use 3M bath strips. You can get the corner ones from ikea. 4 years and we put bottles, etc. on it - has not failed a single time.
I fuck with a rack that hangs from the shower head
These work well [shower hooks](http://Vin Beauty 10Pcs Adhesive Hooks, Clear Hooks, Plastic Hooks, Wall Hooks for Hanging, Drill-Free Wall Hooks, Seamless Hooks, Heavy Duty Hooks for Kitchen Bathroom https://a.co/d/7wyihz8)
I bought these and they’ve been there 2 years. They look really nice too. https://a.co/d/3lxBhYB
It's easier to just get the one that hangs off the shower head
I always drill and install a plastic cabinet knob with a stainless steel screw with caulk. Even in rentals. I’ve never had a landlord come back to me with a concern.
Run you a new shower curtain rod on inside of the shower against the wall then use shower curtain hooks to hold small baskets
Amazon has hanging baskets with some kind of 3M sheet w/ hooks to hold them. They stick to the subway tile in my shower. Edit: these. https://a.co/d/0YUDIs0
You have to clean both sides very well and not put it on a seam/gap. Flat tile are best.
i bought a shower pole
This OXO brand corner shelf has been magical for me in one of our showers. You need to have smooth tile and a corner with a 90 degree angle, but it doesn’t use adhesive or suction. It has tacky rubber pads that grip the tile and you press a lever on the front to lock tension on the pads against the walls. I’ve had it loaded with multiple heavy shampoo bottles and it hasn’t fallen in over 4 years. OXO Good Grips Press-Sure Corner... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007POQ9EA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They have a pole (like a shower curtain that you can extend or shorten) that goes from floor to ceiling and has 3 or 4 shelves at different levels.
I used the baskets from my old corner shower caddy where the zinc plated pole would rust all the time and fall. I then made a custom single piece of copper pipe made it fit with the spring assembly, painted the baskets and affixed them how I liked it's been 8 years and has not broken since.
We have a Moen shower shampoo, etc. holder that doubles as a grab bar. It is attached to studs, and it is great in case you lose your balance.
Tetote shower caddy. Uses 3m strips I think. Had mine over a year, still sticking
They're are stripper pole arrangements that fasten in the corner between the tob and the ceiling with baskets.
Chewing gum
I did this once with a similar basket. Hung it from a rod with a nylon rope. Our rod was permanent, but a telescopic one could work, too.
It’s expensive but seriously looks brand new 2 years later. https://www.oxo.com/quick-extend-aluminum-pole-caddy.html Alternatively in our remodel we’ve added these corner shelves from schluter. Looks like they can be installed after grouting so that could be an option too. https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Shower-System/Accessories/Shelves/Schluter®-SHELF-E/p/SHELF_E
Def not suction cups. I have some adhesive ones that are amazing.
I had a basket fall off every 2 weeks or so and now it’s been solid for many months.

you need a glass/tile drill. but yes, drill it.
You get nice caddies with arms that hang over the glass, in a protective manner.
You can’t get these fitted with suction cups?
I bought some off of Amazon. 2 baskets that came with the sticky grip things. I love them! Never had a problem. Hold big bottles. Brand was KINCMAX.
On Amazon look for adhesive shower shelves. I couldn’t link, but found some for under $10.

Hang off shower head if possible. Dollar store has shower hangers for shampoo, body wash, etc.
Mine fell off like right after you posted this...
The suction cups are listening!
Don't get the succies, get the stickies
Suction
If you're open to not using baskets: I'm really really happy with my wall-mounted soap dispenser. Gives a lot more control over the amount of product I'm using. I simply fixed the back plate with some generic brand construction adhesive to the tiles. Has worked like a charm for the past \~5 years.
You’re in my bathroom no other explain
I used Alien Tape to put up a razor holder in the shower. Not sure about the weight capacity, but it holds in wet conditions.
[Hanging Shower Caddy.](https://www.amazon.com/Aitatty-Hanging-Shower-Caddy-Organizer/dp/B0C9ZD3YHL)
My kids’ shower has a lip all around the top (it’s a one piece unit) so I put a second tension rod toward the wall and they hang everything from that. Not sure how yours is set up but it works well with no drilling or hope.
I have one that hangs off the shower head, many tiers too
Keep the basket, buy these: They're almost permanant but I removed one that was stuck for 2 years, used some goo gone and the residue was gone within minutes. Solid AF and very strong, holds up to my wife's magma hot showers and humidity no problems [https://www.amazon.com/s?k=shower+wall+adhesive+hook&crid=1XPBX08162W1N&sprefix=shower+wall+adhesive+hook+%2Caps%2C141&ref=nb\_sb\_noss\_2](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=shower+wall+adhesive+hook&crid=1XPBX08162W1N&sprefix=shower+wall+adhesive+hook+%2Caps%2C141&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)
Amazon sells shower shelves that have a great 3m stick pad. These have worked well for me. Tip: use a hair dryer to warm the 3m sheet & press firmly into grout lines & tile. Let that sit for 24 hours before hanging shelf.
Gorilla glue gel
They make versions with a suction cup where you press it and then twist which holds the suction tight. They work great. I have a similar system that I use to hold a luggage rack on my car. If a luggage rack holding a suit case going 75MPH can hold on, a shower basket should be fine.
Seen this at a few places HOMEASY Bathroom Shower Shelf, Shower Caddy/Tidy No Drilling Shower Holders Storage for Soap Shampoo Shower Rack Hanging with Buckle and Shower Head Hook Suit 19mm-25mm Shower Rail https://amzn.eu/d/16TxXZG
I have some that came with clear adhesive pads with plastic hooks that hold them on the wall. Works like a charm. https://a.co/d/jiNzpc3
How loud was this when it fell?
Yah the clear dollar store suction cup hook ones are golden
There's probably 50 different kinds of dollar store suction cups
Suction cups suck, go figure. Get one of those telescopic rods that are spring loaded and come with a couple of baskets. Preferrably aluminium or stainless, the cheap ones will rust.
Suspension rods are my usual go-to. But I prefer shelves, so i would probably use 2, side by side and rig some sort of flat surface on top.
I use the vertical tension rod shelves Infinitely better than stick on shelves
I was not keen on these, but having used them for a while I think they are the best solution for a shower with no built-in shelves. You can store a lot on the 3 shelves in our shower and it's easy to keep clean.
I like the ones that hang around the shower head. But that depends on what type of shower you have.
This. This is the only good solution.
Let it dry, clean it and then super glue the suction cup on. To remove it will take a razor blade scraper, but that’s easy enough.
This is UK :) Edit: lol @ cardboard. This is a postwar reinforced concrete structure. You need an SDS drill to hang a picture.
Solid solution: Mr diamond drill bit in tile Good solution 3M strips Simple solution: get 2 of those hangers in picture, attach them on either side. The chances of them both failing at the same time are minute, if one fails it hangs crooked but not everything falls. You remediate it and re-vacuum-attach it once you see it hanging tilted
We have a Simple Human tension rod shower caddy and I love it!
I’ve had wonderful success changing to a set that came with waterproof epoxy to mount with, and I’ve also had success with any 3M adhesive hooks. Neither required advanced tools and both have help up over a year with constant weight on them.
Have you tried staples?
Can we talk about the whole ass squeegee on the rack?
Squeegeeing isn’t part of your grooming routine?
I got a towel. It seems to work.
a couple sucker mouth catfish will do the trick
