This might help. Keep your dungeon fluid so that you're able to remove levels or areas easily. That way, if the party takes a nasty hit, you can remove some stuff so they're not stomped by the Wizard. Let's say you want 6 levels. Level 1-Riddle Level 2-Easy Encounter Level-3 Trapped Room Level 4-Medium Encounter Level 5. Riddle/Trap Room to Boss level Level 6- Boss encounter. With simple traps connecting the different levels. Let's say Level 2 really beats them up. Have it lead to level 5 instead of 3. Etcetcetc

Players are expected to go through like 7 encounters of normal difficulty when dungeoneering, but they also expect 2 short rests in-between. If you aren't providing rests, make sure to keep some way of healing around if you want to be able to run more than 3 encounters before the party is out of resources. Riddles and traps are a good way to make encounters that don't take too many spells or class features from a level 4 party. Also make sure that the players understand that they don't get rests beforehand so they know to conserve some resources
