Northwestern and Dr. Jain. Love them they are organized and communicative, have a great lab. Had terrible experience at a smaller clinic. Couldn’t be happier at NW.

I'm in the Chicagoland area. I'm 28. I started with Fertility Centers of Illinois that was recommended by my OB. I got all my diagnostic testing done through them and had a horrible time with their billing department. I'm starting IVF in June with Northwestern Medicine's Reproductive Endocrinology department.

I am with FCI right now. The care is…questionable. Who are you going with at Northwestern?

I never got to the care part but the billing department has been such a pain since September 2023 for me. I don't have an RE assigned to me yet but my NP is Tammy. She's the NP for two different REs. I'll get an RE assigned once I start treatment next month. I just went with whoever had the soonest initial appointment available.

I am in Chicago and I go to Kindbody (Wicker Park). My doctor is based out of their St. Louis location and I just do televisits with her (Dr. Klenov), and the Chicago doctors do my retrievals at their West Loop IVF lab. Kindbody has early morning monitoring appointments, so it’s super convenient for me to go in at 6:30 AM for monitoring and then go straight to work afterward. I have had a really good experience with Kindbody (the only reason I have had to do so many retrievals is due to factors beyond my control that have nothing to do the the clinic.) I have found that my nurse is usually pretty responsive when I portal her with 8 million questions 🫠😆 and Dr. Klenov is great too! She is some kind of egg genius, because she more often than not is able to get me to retrieval with almost all or all of my eggs that they retrieve ending up mature. As for the Chicago doctors who do the retrievals, they’re all really nice but I like Dr. Jeelani and Dr. Beltsos the most 🙂 I did an IUI once and I asked if they could do an US beforehand and they were somehow able to fit that into the schedule, and Dr. Beltsos did the ultrasound herself since no one else was there to do it. I recommend Kindbody!

Oh interesting. I hadn’t thought about a different doctor in their network. I have a consult set up with Dr. Jaleeni. Do they batch clients? What are your numbers if you don’t mind me asking?

Bookwormz1985

Also, why did you pick this particular doctor?

cognitivedissident86

So when I first started going to Kindbody, I had a different doctor but that doctor left the practice and I got assigned to Dr. Klenov

Bookwormz1985

Thanks, I made an appointment with her! How was your duostim? I’m starting one in a week or so.

cognitivedissident86

I’m currently in the luteal part of the duostim right now!

cognitivedissident86

I don’t believe they batch clients, I have always started a cycle with my period (with the exception of doing a duostim) I’m 38, low AMH but not sure of exact number, AFC has ranged anywhere from 2 to 11

I’m in the Chicago suburbs but have been seeing Dr. Wood Molo and the staff at IHR. She works in their downtown location but they have clinics in a few areas in the suburbs which has been super convenient for me to do early morning monitoring appointments. I would say they are very responsive/communicative (through calls and the portal) and upfront with billing. I’ve been very happy with their service.

Bookwormz1985

I’ve heard good things about her. I will look further. Thanks!!

I’m with IHR too!! Dr TK is my doctor. :)

I just graduated at Fertility Centers of Illinois with Dr. Christopher Sipe. I loved him but his bedside manner is not for everyone (I thought he was funny and empathetic but def not a warm n fuzzy guy lol). However he is an excellent RE and has high success rates and knew what he was doing. FCI as a system has its drawbacks, there were times I felt like cattle just being shuffled through but most of the staff there are wonderful and kind. I don’t think I had any worse experience than I would anywhere else in the city tbh. I def liked some nurses and ultrasound techs more than others but in general they answered my questions, got me in quickly for the most part and were a well oiled machine. I’m about to turn 36 and also have DOR, it took me 3 cycles to have a successful pregnancy but Dr. Sipe tweaked my protocol each time and had a strong rationale for the changes which I appreciated. Good luck and feel free to DM if you want more info.

Thank you! Why did you choose him over the other doctors? I’m with Kaplan. When you say 3 cycles, 3 ER or 3 transfers?

Justdoingme508

Honestly he was available when I wanted to start and had good reviews. I originally wanted a female RE but ultimately it worked well to have him. 2 ERs and 2 transfers over the course of 3 “rounds,” first ER had poor results, second ER had better results so we did a fresh transfer that failed, then did a fully medicated FET with another embryo from the second ER that stuck so far! (8 weeks 4 days). I actually know someone who worked with Kaplan and liked him. I also had Dr. Hirschfeld for one of my egg retrievals and really liked her bedside manner. There was one dr I had for a transfer who I didn’t love but you don’t always get a choice bc it’s whoever is on call. Good luck!
