I live in a two story home and clear my dryer vent myself. Unless you have some mobility limitations it isn't difficult to do. I just need a ladder and a shop vac. Hardest part is moving the dyer. I can't imagine paying $450 for it.

JamalBiggz

Ya I’m kind of leaning on doing it myself as well, just gotta find a way to get a 25 ft ladder to my house 😂

pacochalk

Just be careful, man. 3x as many people die from falls than they do guns in this country.

nruiz008

We should ban falling.

studmaster896

some crazy domestic terrorist about to go on a falling spree somewhere out there

FW_nudist

I see the NRA is in town!

alsmith0224

U-Haul and ladder rental at HD. The two are prolly gonna run you around $100 total but still cheaper.

pepsiblast08

And the tools for it can be had for like $20-$30. Cheaper if you're innovative.

Dryer Vent Wizard their family owned and give a damn. They’re*

swamp_donkey89

They’re

basic_model

Thank you!

Altruistic_Garage656

This is who I used last year. They were great! My laundry room is on the second floor and they had to go on my roof to open the outside vent, too. It was about $200 and they were super quick!

doink992000

I see this service offered on groupon quite a bit. Try there. Maybe you can even get a discount code to stack with.

bubblebumblejumble

My experience with vent and duct cleaning on Groupon is that they use the Groupon to get themselves in the door and almost insist upon you getting every duct in the house cleaned for some “unbeatable price”. Just be ready to say no five hundred times.

doink992000

😆 that’s certainly true

bubblebumblejumble

They also give the impression that your house will either burn down immediately from clogged ducts or you will instantly expire from dust inhalation from dirty ones upon declining service.

KarmaLeon_8787

A few years ago I used HomeSafe. [https://homesafeventcleaning.com/](https://homesafeventcleaning.com/) I have a one-story home and my laundry room is on an outside wall so the vent run is short. I did have a new outside louvered vent cover installed -- opens and closes depending upon use -- but I don't remember the exact total cost. I do remember being very pleased with the service and thinking "gee, that didn't cost too much" at the time.

moronicattempt

What's the cheap price? Or at least what is the range one should expect?

JamalBiggz

“Starts a $99” is what they tell me. I’m not expecting $99, maybe in the ballpark $200-$300

LYEAH

Just buy a dryer vent cleaning kit from home Depot, it's like 25$. Super easy to do it yourself.

JamalBiggz

My dryer vent is on the second floor, would i need to climb my roof to use this kit?

LYEAH

You can try to clean it from the inside first, but it would be best to use a ladder to reach the vent on the wall outside.

JamalBiggz

Ya i’d need a 25 ft ladder and a spine to climb up there without busting my 💩

JonClaudeVanDam

Im confused, I just have a huge fiberglass flex drill brush attachment that goes all the way up my vent and spins down all the debris…. Can you not just use that?

Dryer Vent Cleaning Dallas TX LLC This place cleaned mine last year and we're cheap

Skinny_Phoenix

Either could be correct but nice try. The poster could be expressing that they are frugal, implying the company was reasonably priced.

swamp_donkey89

except they said MINE and not OURS

Skinny_Phoenix

That makes no difference unless you’re being insufferably pedantic. They may own the place but make financial decisions with their partner. People love folks like you, obviously.

InternetsIsBoring

https://www.offdutychimneysweeps.com/ It's fire fighter owned and operated.

walterfalls

There is a DIY solution that does not need a ladder. There are brush kits that attach to a drill, with a series of flexible extender rods. Put your vac at the hole first to catch debris as it falls.

bubblebumblejumble

https://bunnarahoy.com/ Super easy to schedule and tells you the charges on the phone ahead of time

llllSN3AKllll

Sweeps n Ladders, I just used them a few days ago... $250 for a 2-story home. In and out within an hour and they were on time to arrive. Will use them again.

NeenW1
