I thought I read something about, he was only showboating as a form of protest because he couldnāt get a better matchup, sort of a āthis is who you think Iām matched withā type deal
In MMA Dana would fucking love it and this guy would get a bonus for doing this while dominating, and in boxing showboating fighters have been around for as long as there have been crowds to play to. A perfect example would be Mohammad Ali, the greatest boxer to ever live. These guys aren't monks practicing some ancient martial art in a temple waiting to test their honor, they're entertainers.
How do you think boxers and mixed martial artists get away with most shit, promoters pay for a show that keeps the lights on in the building. Most coaches and gyms werenāt successful enough on their own to make a living , they all rely on fighters to put a show for the promoters. The power dynamics are always in the fighters favor and not everyone else.
No, I think they mean the guy doing something like the robot and eats a head-kick.
https://images.hive.blog/p/vM1pGHgNcyCiaxZmdb555hkjecmqomntNdRp7jgAfZMDMqpFFyUbbJPwTx9Cg9MyncLFMDnJxSfYBC1zZk4GU2pJSf4wLAYtYmYSyGJ3REP4yzrmQ1egSwsVYbzLENjtyL9uCbf?format=match&mode=fit
People are so livid that this guy showboats and is absolutely fine they're upvoting absolute trash comments about no gym ever allowing him to act like that (absolute bullshit) and people pretending Prince Naz wasn't a literal world champ and did this his entire career. Ali made a career doing this shit, just like Naz did. Silva and MVP are huge showboaters from MMA who've been super successful.
It's quite possible to be a fucking great fighter and be a bit disrespectful about it in the ring.
Prince Naseem was a world champion for like 3 years and only lost once at the end of his career and retired after. Ben Wittaker is more of an entertainer fighter and can only do that to far worse fighter's and would never do that to a contender or high level fighter.
Loma is fighting world champions.
Whittaker is fighting journeymen. Awful comparison.
I like Ben, he's an up and comer, but don't compare him to Loma ffs that's ridiculous.
At 24 Loma was a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist across 2 weight classes. Age has nothing to do with any of it. Ben is showboating vs guys well below his level as marketing. Nobody would give a shit about any of his fights because he's fighting nobodies. But when he does make a step up, his fans will tune in because they enjoy his antics and his detractors will tune in to see him fall. It's good marketing, that's all.
Ufc gonna be unwatchable when the kids get old enough
Gonna have to change the rule books after Sven the sigma ran away the entire fight so he could do the fortnite all emotes challenge
Before the UFC, Adesanya, atĀ a different promotion, knocked a guy out with a flying knee. Then he threw a pokeball the guy and did a Pokemon pose.Ā
He didn't know at the time, he had crushed the guy's skull in on his forehead.
Honestly, I think he's doing a good job considering he's on a stage with paying audience. If that's what people want to see, that's what they will pay for.
Surprisingly, people don't like watching 12 rounds of nothing happening.
He ain't classy but he can dodge and so he has earned it to show off. But then if he gets knocked out, his fanatic acts would be humiliating and he would not have the last dance.
You believe they will let a pretty boy like that actually get hurt? He will lose after a few rounds and will rinse and repeat in a few years all while taking a nice fat paycheque.
Roy Jones Jr did the same thing and everyone loved him for it. If they're THAT good, then they've earned a little bit of show boating privileges. I always worry someone will catch them off guard doing that and it will be show over for them.
First as other say it is part of the show.
Second i think it is like taunt, he makes his opponent angry and he will do more mistakes trying to hit him.
It's not douchy if you can back it up. Taunting is a great tactic in fighting sports. The goal is to humiliate your opponent and shake them up. It's a mental game, just as much as it is physical.
Developing good head movement is not that hard if you think about it as an opponent. Over exposure can make you open target however, anticipating the attack you will be able to make the right technical adjustment along peripheral awareness. This may come easier to some fighters than others after all there are styles built entirely off counters
I mean they land, but they have little power if any.. guy is fast but I feel like soon as he goes up against another fast opponent, he drops his hands and turns his back to much and might up eating a fist pretty quickly. I know nothing of his record. How'd I do?
I had a fight like this in a kebab shop in london 20 years ago. I was a naĆÆve Australian, had been in the uk for like a week. Some dude came in and asked for 2 large kebabs. I said "you must be a hungry boy" not meaning anything. (dude was black). He got up in my face asking if I was looking to start something. I was like no, dude, 2 large, you must be hungry. Dude took maybe 10 swings at me. Landed zero. Then punched my mate in the nose then left.
I was like "wtf was that" to the server at the kebab shop. His response was "are you new here?". I was...
He fought a live opponent last time out and got made to look stupid (still won) he's a British and European level fighter at best with no real power and a shit attitude to his opponents. He'll be found out like Josh Kelly was before him
People have been sleeping on this man, yeah sure the guy he was versing wasnāt up to his skill set but they have the same experience when it comes to fighting.
This man is a prodigy and heās being compared to Charlie chaplain.
Itās kinda ironic cause like Chaplain, he is a man of his art.
He should be in ballet tights. Incredible. It might be to his advantage to piss off and tire an opponent to secure a victory.
He floats like several butterflies. I hope he stings like an African killer bee.
He fights like Charlie Chaplin
This shit made me š¤£ lmao
That headlock counter was something out of r/bullshido
Yeah until he fights an actual contender.
I thought I read something about, he was only showboating as a form of protest because he couldnāt get a better matchup, sort of a āthis is who you think Iām matched withā type deal
Real gyms and coaches would discipline a fighter for acting like this.
In MMA Dana would fucking love it and this guy would get a bonus for doing this while dominating, and in boxing showboating fighters have been around for as long as there have been crowds to play to. A perfect example would be Mohammad Ali, the greatest boxer to ever live. These guys aren't monks practicing some ancient martial art in a temple waiting to test their honor, they're entertainers.
ever heard of Ali?
The broke dude from Aladdin?
Prince Ali, yes it is he! Though not as you know him.
Gyms and coaches are paid by their boxers, they couldnāt give two shits if he did that as long as the lights are paid.
This some shit that someone who's never been around a fighter says
How do you think boxers and mixed martial artists get away with most shit, promoters pay for a show that keeps the lights on in the building. Most coaches and gyms werenāt successful enough on their own to make a living , they all rely on fighters to put a show for the promoters. Shit the fuck up š step in the ring with him
Isnāt he the guy that gets knocked the f out in that video of a dood doing the showboating and shimmy shit?
Nah Ben is undefeated currently
[That was Joe Harding](https://youtu.be/1puziwt5Su8?t=416)
Thatās the one!
I'd never show my face again if I lost like that š . Like never leave the house, change my name or something.
I thought it was him. Same moves... It was MMA, here's the link to Ozzy Twat's reviews.Ā https://youtu.be/IVr1K0mVjkE?si=ShcO-LUlHv8BaOMU
Nah this guy looks waaaaay worse. BW actually dodging punches while being sassy. Lets hope he fights a good match so we can see what hes really about
Michael "Venom" Page? He got KOd by Douglas Lima, but then beat him 2 years later.
That would be āPrinceā Naseem Hamed He was always arrogant and cringe, caught up with him eventually.
It would definitely not be Naseem Hamed
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Anderson Silva?
No, I think they mean the guy doing something like the robot and eats a head-kick. https://images.hive.blog/p/vM1pGHgNcyCiaxZmdb555hkjecmqomntNdRp7jgAfZMDMqpFFyUbbJPwTx9Cg9MyncLFMDnJxSfYBC1zZk4GU2pJSf4wLAYtYmYSyGJ3REP4yzrmQ1egSwsVYbzLENjtyL9uCbf?format=match&mode=fit
Naseem getting knocked out would have been a mercy. MAB fucked him up.
Donāt know how youāre so upvoted but wrong
You can see incorrect highly upvoted posts all over the site. It's mildly infuriating.
reddit echo chamber in a nutshell
The comment above it is wrong too, Ben is currently undefeated as a pro and an Olympic silver medalist. And the disrespect to Prince Naseem, smh
Reddit DKSAB
People are so livid that this guy showboats and is absolutely fine they're upvoting absolute trash comments about no gym ever allowing him to act like that (absolute bullshit) and people pretending Prince Naz wasn't a literal world champ and did this his entire career. Lol what? Naseem was never knocked out.
The fuck did you just say?
You don't know what you're talking about. Naseem never got KO'd. His one professional loss was to Barrera on points.
Just like the diabetes did.
Was thinking the same thing, similar moves.
I mean heās not a world champion yet so yes heās not going to be fighting the best of the best.
yeah , gona get ko while doing a dance
Eventually that reflexes will be overpowered by faster opponents but still that a good dodge
The ballad of Buster Scruggs moment eventually.Ā Spoilers if you haven't seen it https://youtube.com/shorts/gQ-9m9zCMXU?si=ciqiEdKtKaDd-qhn
Someone has to be the fastest; could be him.
Not for long.
he's 26 in LHW, so he's not even in his prime yet. Loma is 36 and he's still doing circles around younger opponents.
Loma is fighting world champions. Whittaker is fighting journeymen. Awful comparison. I like Ben, he's an up and comer, but don't compare him to Loma ffs that's ridiculous.
I was comparing ages, not the fighter. My point was that Ben has a lot of time to grow and improve.
There are 69000 factors in fighting. Some day he might be one of the fastest, some day not. There is much more to fighting
Eventually, he'll take a few body shots that will make him think twice about dancing around.
Maybe if he fought people who weren't 5 inches shorter than him all the time.
The Observation Haki is strong in this one.
White beard tattoo as well lol
also forbidden to hit with back fist
He's a pirate, they don't follow the law
bro is emoting in middle of fight
Ufc gonna be unwatchable when the kids get old enough Gonna have to change the rule books after Sven the sigma ran away the entire fight so he could do the fortnite all emotes challenge
I need you to look up Prince Naseem from the 90s. Fighters like this always come around.
I mean this isnāt the UFC nor MMA.
Before the UFC, Adesanya, atĀ a different promotion, knocked a guy out with a flying knee. Then he threw a pokeball the guy and did a Pokemon pose.Ā He didn't know at the time, he had crushed the guy's skull in on his forehead.
That was michael "venom" page when he knocked out evangelista santos.
Wrong skinny black dude, btw. However, MVP is now in the UFC as well.
A lot of these aren't reactions. They're proactive, he's predicting. He's in his opponent's head
Obviously Observation-Haki from his time with the Whitebeard-crew
Seems douchey to be so show boaty
Honestly, I think he's doing a good job considering he's on a stage with paying audience. If that's what people want to see, that's what they will pay for. Surprisingly, people don't like watching 12 rounds of nothing happening.
Not to mention it must absolutely infuriate opponents and take their mind off their technique and tactics.
He ain't classy but he can dodge and so he has earned it to show off. But then if he gets knocked out, his fanatic acts would be humiliating and he would not have the last dance.
What Iām hearing is he should fight Jake Paul and clown him since that guy telegraphs like crazy.
What Iām hearing is Jake Paul wonāt be fighting again after his bout with Mike.
Hereās hoping
You believe they will let a pretty boy like that actually get hurt? He will lose after a few rounds and will rinse and repeat in a few years all while taking a nice fat paycheque.
I want to believe
so basically Anderson Silva?
Thats a straight up sacrilegious comparison
Roy Jones Jr did the same thing and everyone loved him for it. If they're THAT good, then they've earned a little bit of show boating privileges. I always worry someone will catch them off guard doing that and it will be show over for them.
Hamed vs. Barera 2 let's go!
What is his opponent going to do? Hit him?
Boxing is first and foremost entertainment
First as other say it is part of the show. Second i think it is like taunt, he makes his opponent angry and he will do more mistakes trying to hit him.
Its drunken boxing. Its a legit fighting style.
NO YoUr DrUNkEnBox.
Back fist and punch to the back not illegal?
Is this what camping in boxing looks like?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
His opponent is garbage thatās why he can do that easily
They're also clearly gassed out, probably knows that the fight is already over.
Is that a One Piece tattoo?!
I'm no professional boxer but if hitting your head is nigh impossible, I'mma focus exclusively on the body.
He is waiting for them to strike first everytime. If he went up against someone with the same fighting style no one would throw a punch.
Dude seems like kind of a prick.
That's not reflexes but anticipation.
Often the taller you are, the slower the reflexes. That would argue in favour of it being anticipation.
Next video: When Cocky Fighters Get Destroyed And Humbled. lol
[Joe Harding comes to mind](https://youtu.be/1puziwt5Su8?si=2Q_oU7HyTFZfl235&t=420)
That's what's so great about showmen like this guy. His time will come, so love him or hate him it's fun for everyone.
I feel like his cockiness is kinda justified considering he got silver at the 2020 summer Olympics lmao
Am I seeing a modern Prince Naseem?
He was such a legend in his day, this isn't on his level though for sure. Naseem was incredible, so fast and so powerful combined.
More Josh Kelly, style over substance
Well, he is a member of White Beard's crew so it makes sense that he'd be strong.
It just makes him seem like a bit of an asshole. But that sells tickets so i get it
His back tattoo says it all
It's decent but it's patterned. Most showy shit is. These guys tend to get flattened when their opponent realizes it.
A real contender is gonna knock him out for all that show-boating
Hate the showboating. Disrespectful to your opponent.
Neo!
I want to see him fight that Tate guy
I'd love to smack the twat in the face. Probably couldn't, but still.
douche bag energy - would love to see his take down, Tyson style
I love when people who would never win anything complain about douchebag energy welcome to sports.
It's not douchy if you can back it up. Taunting is a great tactic in fighting sports. The goal is to humiliate your opponent and shake them up. It's a mental game, just as much as it is physical.
The guy in the white shorts is either about to tell me something or ask me something
Robert Whittaker >
Anyone remember when Chris Weidman knocked Anderson Silva tfo? I do, and it was one of the most satisfying moments of my life.
Roy Jones did it for years, until he couldn't.
Developing good head movement is not that hard if you think about it as an opponent. Over exposure can make you open target however, anticipating the attack you will be able to make the right technical adjustment along peripheral awareness. This may come easier to some fighters than others after all there are styles built entirely off counters
He can do that for a while but eventually a younger, fitter fighter with better reflexes is gonna lay my man the f down
I hope someone smashes him up
josh kelly but darker
That's Northpaw
Poor man's Augustus.
It's all fun and games until you reflex yourself into getting knocked the fuck out
Weird how it's funny and annoying at the same time.
He's toying with garbage fighters. Not saying he's not good, but he wouldn't be doing this shit if his opponents could actually fight.
I mean they land, but they have little power if any.. guy is fast but I feel like soon as he goes up against another fast opponent, he drops his hands and turns his back to much and might up eating a fist pretty quickly. I know nothing of his record. How'd I do?
Wasn't that backhand illegal?
Or the opponents are garbage.
he found a bug in the game, dodge multiplier
# Emanuel Augustus reborn
he's part of whitebeard's crew, of course he's a good fighter
dancing rose
Reminds me of Prince Naseem.
Arrogant
This is how Iād imagine Michael Jackson would look boxing
I had a fight like this in a kebab shop in london 20 years ago. I was a naĆÆve Australian, had been in the uk for like a week. Some dude came in and asked for 2 large kebabs. I said "you must be a hungry boy" not meaning anything. (dude was black). He got up in my face asking if I was looking to start something. I was like no, dude, 2 large, you must be hungry. Dude took maybe 10 swings at me. Landed zero. Then punched my mate in the nose then left. I was like "wtf was that" to the server at the kebab shop. His response was "are you new here?". I was...
Bros dodging like he's quick saving and loading before and after every punch.
Try it against Canelo , GGG , Crawford or someone thats really good. Will chop his head off .
Didn't he get knocked out while dancing once? Or was that someone else? I think it was MMA tho, and not boxing. Is this guy exclusively a boxer?
Different guy. Whittaker is just a boxer. Olympic silver medalist, actually. But they do look similar.
I see. Thanks for the clarification.
That was fun. Reminds me of Prince Naseem.
i was thinking the same thing. I also remember what happen to naseem when someone turned off the music he was dancing in his head to. viscously
I hope bro gets knocked tf out
Amazing or not, that is clown behaviour right there.
Disrespectful piece of shit.
Yeah good reflexes and all but his antics deserve punch to the face.
Kinda looking forward to see him getting knocked tf out. Looks cocky aff here
he behaves and looks like a douche
Is he taking a piss? Or genuinely fights like that
i want to see a boxer to just get fed up with his opponent dodging his swings and just start fucking wrestling him or something
u/auddbot
He should be in ballet tights. Incredible. It might be to his advantage to piss off and tire an opponent to secure a victory. He floats like several butterflies. I hope he stings like an African killer bee.
Iāve never heard of this man but he is The Flash!
Is thatā¦ a whitebeard tattoo on his back?
He's like the embodiment of Bugs Bunny, like those episodes where he boxed Elmer.
Instead of just dance play the ultra instinct theme
Emanuel Augustus is the best drunken boxer ever. Mayweathers hardest fight. Unfortunately he seemed to only box for fun
Let's make bro have a fight in the UFC , then we will see the " reflexes "
Looks like we have another Khan in the making. History loves to repeat itself.
He can dodge a Haymaker, like any professional boxer.
slippery son of a bitch
Looks like an emmanuel augustus fan. Very cool
Is that a fckin whitebeard tattoo?
He boxes like Jerry Lewis in the film Sailor Beware
Emanuel Augustus used to box like that, but he was often disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct
Itās like fighting a human reflex cobra bag
Reminds me of that Japanese movie where the dude dodges gun shots effortlessly. https://youtu.be/sQ2l5ozfa7E?si=IbKSr8AkDGaQgVnX
I'd watch boxing more often if the guys danced between punches like this
Everybody looks great in a highlight reel
Dude has a flow, but go check some Prince Naseem Hamed highlights. Very talented and legendary showman.
Observarion Haki, he's a White Beard's son.
I donāt like fighters that showboat excessively, but him dancing after dodging a few punches is hilarious
shirohige
When you learn to time your emotes between each swing.
Put him up against Inoue and even with his height and weight advantage he will lose. Nice clip tho
Blend between Emanuel Augustus and Prince Naseem
He fights like he's in a hajime no ippo manga
Spent all his points on AGI
Dude's apparently living in Matrix bullet time
Roy Jones Jr
Guy has clearly played Sekiro
He reminds me of prince naseem.
Observation Haki
Shit that cracks me up. When is this dude fighting again? I've never seen him fight is he always like this??
wow...seriously he is really amazing
