Chapter 13 of Waylander 1
>“Well, what, then? I don’t understand you.”
“But you must if you wish to learn.”
Suddenly she smiled. “I understand the mystery, Waylander.”
“Then tell me what you did.”
“I caught a pebble in the moonlight.”

I think there’s a few of his books that vaguely connect in some aspects of mythology, but aren’t specifically a series.
I want to say that Knights of Dark Renown and Morningstar might have a tenuous connection, but I might be mis remembering.
Lots of overlapping themes, characters and setups.
I believe they do, I think they reference.he Knights of Dark Renown in Morningstar.
Gemmell had a few consistent story tropes he would come back to. The Rigante series borrowed a few of his story beats from earlier series, like Vampires and Gladiators for example. That was another fantastic series. The Shannow novels were also a fantastic read.
It's a good one. I have enjoyed all his books, but another less discussed book is Morningstar, which I recommend.

A pebble in the moonlight
I thought the *“pebble in the moonlight”* reference was from Waylander 2, not Morningstar?

Thank you for the correction… it’s been a while 🙂
Bro Morningstar is such an unsung treasure, genuinely one of his best
Morningstar is the mind changing book for me alongside legend. It's such a beauty...
Morningstar and dark moon are my absolute favourites
It breaks my heart dark moon never had a sequel
Knights of Dark Renown and Echoes of The Great Song are my favourite Gemmel novels.
Knights of Dark Renown and Morningstar are two of my absolute favourite Gemmel books. I envy you reading them for the first time

So pleased you enjoyed it. I love the way it became a circular story at the end - very very clever
Awesome book. Although a standalone isn't it set in Drenai?
