I don’t really want to do phone or even texting banks, and going door to door really isn’t my jam. So, I’ve been writing postcards through the [Progressive Turnout Project](https://www.turnoutpac.org/postcards/) to get people to vote. You can choose to send postcards to a swing state. It makes me feel like I’m doing something, and practices the handwriting skills my grandmother forced me to hone as a child, but also isn’t super high pressure.
I do this too. It doesn't feel like much but I feel like I have to do something. Also, it seems far more personal and less intrusive than a text or phone call. I hope it helps.
For what it’s worth, a postcard got my brother-in-law to vote. Folks do appreciate and respond to personal outreach. Hardly anyone receives handwritten letters or postcards today which I think makes them more effective.
What state? Many “red” states are only so because of dismal voter participation rates. You’d be shocked how many turn purple or blue simply by getting the number of voters up.
Josh Hawley is vulnerable, and even Trump knows it.

Missouri may be red, but they don't like cowards, and Josh Hawley is one of the biggest cowards in the Senate. Lucas Kunce is the precise opposite. He is a veteran who risked his life to serve his country. An upset here is more possible that pundits think. [https://lucaskunce.com](https://lucaskunce.com)

The utter key is to educate voters. You can talk to your voting-age friends who don't pay attention, blow it off as" just politics", or seem reasonable and willing to listen. You can continually say, "please look up Project 2025" whenever anyone brings up politics.
Educating people about P25 is all we really need, to inspire them to *show up*. The 2016 election had a near-record high turnout, at 60% of eligible voters. Society on the whole trends liberal; whatever divisive ideology we're spoonfed, deep down we do understand that we're all in this together and have to take care of one another; the trick is to get the uninspired up and out of their chairs.
If you know people who just don't vote... Make them your focus. Figure out what they care about; abortion access, women's rights, HIPPA, social security, Medicare, immigration... You name it, you'll find something in P25 gutting it or replacing it with a Trump loyalty rewards program. Education is a good one... P25 wants to eliminate the DoE. Education continues to be denigrated and devalued, because educated people don't worship them. Almost everyone wants their children to be educated.
Get the apathetic to *care*, and we can sweep this election blue. Let's get that number of eligible voters voting a lot closer to 100%.

Edited bc I somehow hit enter too soon. 🙄
Edited again because I needed to clean up wording... I keep getting interrupted whilst typing. 🤣
See what local races you can impact or volunteer with: city, school board, county, state legislators, etc.
Let's work on removing the GOP supermajority that ousted Justin Jones and Justin Pearson.
To build on Wristband, just having a Dem to vote for in a local race can raise the Dem turnout for top-of-the-ballot races by one percent or more in that district. Giving the local Dem some resources increases the effect.
Sometimes the state Republicans have been in office so long they are completely out of practice at running campaigns and can make boneheaded errors. If things swing enough, the state Dem party might choose to invest more in the district next election.
And even when the local Dem loses, they sometimes can pick up a lower race in the following election, meaning they might get a say in school administration or managing the elections.
My town flipped blue this way this past November. Been red longer than I've been alive. Elbow grease, enthusiasm, and GOP being soft-ass about neo-Nazi activity definitely helped.
In addition to all the great replies so far, if you have friends or family in swing states, reach out to them and just maintain contact. No need to jump straight into politics, that can come later. Things like reminding them to check their registration due to voter roll purges can be a starter.
Many companies we do business with are known to donate to the GQP; you can search up company names and decide whether or not you want to buy stuff from them.

Call your local Democratic campaign office and see if you can do something like setting signs up.
If they ask you to go door-to-door, understand that the doors you would be knocking on are registered Democrats. You won’t be going to Republicans’ doors. It’s a get out the vote effort, not a change people’s mind effort. So not too scary at all. But you don’t have to do that of course if you don’t want to.

As much as I support all of the political action people are suggesting, we also have direct action that we need to prepare for. Supporting and volunteering for and, if necessary, building community organizations to support those who will be most impacted by the rise of christian nationalism is critical. Do everything we can to prevent the election of any republican from county commissions and school boards to congress, but for those of us where the numbers are daunting, also build support networks to prepare for the worst.

I just signed up for 500 in Texas!
Wow good on you, 500 is a shitton!
Thank goodness I am retired! LOL
This is great! Saving this link to sign up later.

Tennessee. We are deep in the “Solidly R” side of things sadly.
At least know you’re not alone here in TN.
Any chance you can move to Shelby County and vote down ballot by November?
If I’m moving it is going to be out of the south
Honestly same. I've been considering moving to Arizona, but I just don't think I can by November.
That's where I live, too. Glad you posted this.
I would have guessed WV
The state that produced Al Gore!
Doing my best and to swing my home state of missouri. We're closer to tipping than we have been in a long time. But it's still slim odds.

can't wait to vote that shit stain out of office
r/fuckjoshhawley
Oklahoma here. My blue vote will just cancel out one of my parents' red votes. Feeling pretty hopeless.
Yep. I used to live in an Indiana jurisdiction that helped turn the whole state blue in 2008.

Vote in every single local election. School board, county commissioner, etc.

Consider running if there are Republicans running unopposed as well.

Call people in swingstates
Not much with R+10 tbh. You'd be better off investing your time in swing counties or swing states.
