Not necessarily. Sure he could make it form an O, a D, and a P if he tried. But the reason why they’re all different letters is cause they literally look different and have different curves about them. Most obvious one and easiest to roll with is an A due to the angels already formed

To me it reads RAT solely by the fact that you see the drawings first and the word is already in your head by the time you read the letters.

Maybe it’s just me but remove the actual letter A all together? Seems like there’s an “A” form going on with the connecting tails. If you don’t like how some of the other ideas people are pitching turn out, making the area where all three rat tails combine a little more bold/ adding some form of extra lines to accentuate and draw attention to the way the overlapping tails make an A shape could turn out sweet. Of course you’d probably have to play with the placement of each rat so make it more balanced after removing a whole letter

if you’re going for RAT just remove the bottom A and move the R and T downwards because the triangle of the rat tails in the middle already looks like an A. but if you’re going for RTA, keep it like that

Get rid of the A on the bottom and replace it with something that fits the motif, like a downward facing triangle block of Swiss cheese or something, then give the tails in the middle a more pronounced shape into a letter A. That’s what I’d do, cool concept though!

Follow the reading direction: top left to top right to bottom left to bottom right. It spells RTA sadly

The simplest solution is just to Switch the A and the T and it will read in a circle.

It reads as RTA. The human eye is used to the circular motion of an analog watch, clockwise.

Maybe turn the letters so they point out radially?

My brain generally matches objects and such in chevron pattern. That’s why I read that as RAT. But maybe you can use their tails as an A if you manipulate a bit.

My alma mater. Looking at the design. Perhaps using the tails to form the letter A. It almost looks that way. Stylize the other letters the same?

Flip the image, if a is on top it’s more likely to get red first. Because otherwise the fact that you read top down in English may make you read the top two letters then move down a line

you could do something clever with the rat tails and how they kind of form an A in the middle, but IMO the rats do not match the font at all and they gotta be a little sharper and scarier to match the letters.

It reads as “Rat King”

You can switch the spots of the mouse with the letters. So on the top is R bottom left A bottom right T. The upright triangle has the letters and the bottomside up triangle has the rats. Then redo the tails. But imo the additional "a" in the middle messes up the letters. If you read it as well it would be. "Raat".

You’ve almost made an A with their tails in the middle… with a bit of refinement and accentuating this you could keep the exact same layout and just remove the A at the bottom

Orient the letters to the center. Spell in R-A-T order. Solved.

The tails connecting in the middle make an A anyway, so removing the A on the bottom would make the R, A and T seem less disconnected (and more on the same line). Shrinking the R and T slightly might also add to this.

People want to read items clockwise if you suggest something like a clock face -- which most things with rotational symmetry will do. But we also want to read left to right, so R in the upper left, A in the upper right, and T on the bottom makes a lot of sense, especially if the T is rotated

RAT, the spacing and all caps is easy for the eye to follow. But logically someone may just say “this doesn’t make sense” when reading left to right. I wouldn’t swap the A and T cause that’ll just make it read as RTA mentally
