I think this is an issue with the frame. I’ve had similar issues with breaking the blight ball things (that have the aura around them) with it. As with your issue I’m able to fully destroy the thing multiple times in one clip but instead of not stunning it (blight) just keeps returning to full health.
Explosive rounds and Sunshot's exotic perk help because the explosion counts as an extra hit, letting you proc anti-overload with two shots instead of three.

Yeah if you had stuff like Unstoppable bow artifact mod then you'd have Wish Ender getting both barrier & unstop and Lemon getting Anti-Overload & unstop, kinda defeats the point of champs
Anti Barrier doesn't really work on anything with travel time. Due to how the game is coded, the round has to actually make contact with the enemy behind the shield for it to start breaking, that's why projectile based weapons will always plink off the shield and hit scan weapons go through.
Probably some jank with the projectile bullets not actually hitting the champ through the shield and instead only damaging the shield itself. Like we had a similar issue where Mountaintop couldn't stun barrier champs with radiant as the shield would just bounce the projectile off and not actually get hit at all.

It definitely works. Repeatedly stunned Unstoppables with it in both Nightfalls and Verity. Just have to hold it for a second or two so it glows, then two or three shots does it.

I've dumped 10 mags into a weak taken blight (1 melee broke it) and it did no damage
The projectiles might be counted as pure AoE or something.
No cause sometimes it works, rarely but sometimes it does

It’s an issue with certain projectiles interacting with anti-barrier afaik. Have the same issue with final warning hip fire not penetrating shields.

use a hand cannon with explosive payload or timed payload, they count as double hits and make it massively easier to use

Use explosive payload, timed payload, or heavy burst hand cannons. They will get the job done faster.

Burst HCs feel pretty consistent in my experience, like 2~ bursts on an Overload and they’re stunned

Not sure what the problem is, literally just hold down the aim button until you it procs the overload shot and then shoot.
That’s not how overload works, that’s how unstoppable works. Overload needs multiple bullets to be shot to proc the overload effect.
Probably best to use a KT weapon then.

You have to aim until the gun glow then shot it.
This. Aim for about 2 seconds and when the Unbreakable Shot text appears on the feed or the gun glints then fire.
