I just got an ox after months of talking myself out of a 15$ pencil, what about the pica is better? I can't think of any way it would improve honestly, but talk me into buying one 🤣
It’s not way better, it’s just slightly better everywhere. The grip is a little better. It sits in the holster way tighter. After a lot of use the OX will loosen up a ton. The lead is a little better, and the method for sharpening it is a lot better. The holster clip is also better. So honestly just rock the OX until you get the itch to try something new. The OX is still fantastic. I just think the Pica is a little better all around
It is. It's amazing at full price, but I got mine at Lowe's for $29. It fits all my DeWalt and Craftsman versastack shit. It's great. I mean mine is loaded down. But I can do just about anything with it. Appliances, electrical, toilets, sinks, shut offs, pulling base or trim. It's incredible what I have in that bag actually.

I came very close to selling a bunch of Packout and moving over to StackTech. There is a LOT to love about it, but there are some concerns.
1) That they didn't catch the half-box stacking problem makes me worried about how good their R&D really is.
2) I mount a lot of Packout on walls, and I don't think I trust the Toughsystem connections to hold int hat orientation.
3) The company has significant financial problems.
You cannot stack a full-width item on top of side-by-side half boxes. This is not a fatal problem, and rumor has it that a plate is on the way to solve it, but it is crazy that they didn't see it as an issue. That means they don't have many folks on the design team who know how this stiff gets used.
Yeah that's a bit of a mistake, and if Dewalt can get that right despite randomly deleting compatibility and features between generations of tough system, it should be that hard.
They have been made aware of the half stack issue and are supposedly going to fix it on the cuter half boxes and sell a very cost effective plate to remedy it for guys who already bought older half boxes I was not aware of their financial issues tho I’ll have to look into that. But I would definitely trust their mounting system on walls it’s very solid

With respect to the wall mount? I would 100% trust it on one of their shelf units... but mounted 90 degrees the way I do with packout (bottom flat to the wall? I am far less confident.
Still, I have a few pieces, and I am testing it... I would LOVE to move to it.

I recently had a bunch of batteries die on me and dewalt told me to get fucked on warranty replacements, drive them 5 hours to the closest authorized retailer (they don’t allow batteries to be mailed) Flexvolt is literally all that’s keeping me here. Replacing all my 20v with Milwaukee as it comes up. I was upset about it, but I won’t do business with a company that won’t even respond to my customer service requests.

DeWalt - HVAC, carpentry/woodworking
I've heard that some brands do specific tools better. Like DeWalt has better table saws and Milwaukee has better nailers.

I just seen a lot of issues with milwaukee, they're great and would dream to have a full set one day, but I heard reliability and longevity comes into play sooner on milwaukee vs dewalt, also they're too damn expensive for me
Nothing wrong with getting Milwaukee boxes. Why would you actively get dewalt boxes when they aren’t as good? My Milwaukee boxes are filled with dewalt tools.
I would honestly give my old tools to anyone who had the balls to seriously ask if I was upgrading and not buying new ones because my old shit was busted. As long as they paid shipping or could come pick them up. The struggle is real sometimes.

I use a Ticonderoga pencil enclosed in a plastic BIC pen rather than a carpenter coz I keep breaking them . It works for me.
