Actually “cot” or “hold”… he targets different people, not just women, but always three. Correct, he’s gonna target Rita, but after spying on her, she will remember him of his first love when he accidentally watches her while getting dressed before she’s joining Dexter on a trip, and he will fall in love. So he will play a role to get closer to her, will wear a wig and wear an extra-pink lipstick and introduce himself as “Sharon”, the next-door neighbour’s (that creep) sister. As Rita will be having feelings for the neighbour and ended up sleeping with him while being drunk, she’ll try to be polite to Trinity. That’s the ultimate confrontation between Dexter and Trinity: Rita’s love. In turn, Trinity will get rid of the neighbour and become besties with Rita while discovering a new self-dimension: whenever he’s playing “Sharon”, he doesn’t feel like killing anymore.
BIG SPOILER: Trinity ends up moving to Nebraska as Sharon, in order to have closure about his dark passenger.

Sharon was one of the strangest most interesting characters. Really hoping she’s in Original Sin so we see more of her backstory.
