PoE loot boxes make 70$ look like nothing. The game deserves and A- grade on a very good day, but the MTX is super expensive. And the paywall is really low, so it doesn't matter (premium quad stash tabs).

Honestly I don’t think so, as much as Diablo 2 was complex. It was much easier to understand and get into over poe and poe2 will be. Path of exile to me stands on its own as a more “hardcore” version for people who enjoy arpg.
I consider last epoch more of a spiritual successor to Diablo 2.
LE def not far from it, ehg reminds of the way blizz north used to do things. But I’m under the impression Poe2 won’t be as “complex” yet still have a deep end game.

The first one wasn't hard, it was just complex. Even a casual like me managed two beat it easily, but I had to learn a thing or two. With the second game they appear to be aiming at a wider audience, but I don't think the game will become more casual - it will become easier to understand at best
You mean back when there were 3 difficulties/playthroughs? I assumed the game was hard because I tried beating it with my own "build" which sucked lol. Once I tried following a build from the internet (not 1:1 but passives and main active skill) it became easier, but it was after they removed extra playthroughs and added 6 more acts

GGG will put $500 skins in that game just like they have been putting $500 skins in Path of Exile 1. And they will go away every year and new $500 skins will be added so you never run out of things to buy.
I like PoEs design and mechanics, but the grind in that game is kind of ridiculous. Usually just to try out the cool season builds you'd need to play 24/7, or pay a Chinese farmer a bunch of real life money. I don't know if it's changed since I last played, but thats what made me stop playing it maybe 4 or 5 years ago.

If they do it right, pretty much. GGG has done a fantastic job with PoE 1. So, I am very excited for it to come out.
