I was gonna add soma but i wasn't sure if that fits in the description. I mean yeah, he doesn't remember what happens after he woke up but he knows who he is. But i didn't finish the game yet so no spoiler please.
I started in back in the day thinking i can quickly play it but after a couple of hours i realised how good and deep of a game it is, i put it aside to play in the right time.
I think Falls-from-Grace or someone like that makes a comment about TNO looking like a vaguely middle-aged human, but the scar tissue makes it just a guess.
Oh man you're missing out! Some janky mechanics but the world and the atmosphere are great. Also the story is arguably the best in the trilogy
The prologue is a bit of a slog but the game really opens up from Chapter 1 onward
I know a lot of people were disappointed with ToN, but I really enjoyed it.
I liked the premise of The Last Castoff more than The Nameless One. ToN also seemed less combat oriented (which is neither a pro nor a con for me).
There were definitely bits of ToN that seemed underdeveloped, or at least it came off as if parts were originally meant to be bigger, but got cut back (specifically I think the Meres were meant to be more immersive and actual gameplay, not purely text-based).
Idk if I’d rank ToN over Planescape, but both are worthwhile, imo.
I think DE is the best of the three though, but that’s just my own biased opinion.
Love it. Great RPG elements, many different approaches you can take, great setting and philosophical themes. Combat is rare and usually avoidable but is actually a thing, and I enjoyed that part of it.
But the writing and overall execution of DE is much better. Makes it seem amateur by comparison.
When i first started watching it, i was like "umm isn't this a bit cheesy?¿ Why people like this so much" then i quickly realised it came out long before those shots become cheesy. Really good watch. But the end is lame nevertheless
Also it's a nice coincidence that movie is about *memories* since i'm reading the memory police at the moment. And teo of my favorite movies are also about the same topic: blade runner 2049 and world of tomorrow.
Started Planescape Torment because I've had it on my list for years and when I heard the devs saying it was an inspiration for DE I had to get it. Sadly, the PS4 version crashes on PS5 every 5-10 mins which made me drop the game early on
Bourne Identity too
Don’t forget the game series called „Amnesia“ and also SOMA

Please finish the game. It's awesome.

I think that's a good strategy. You'll definitely enjoy it.
I also didn’t finish it yet :)
Witcher game series
Don't know about The Nameless One being middle aged tho
he is a several thousand years old middle aged looking man. i count him as one.
Im pretty sure TNO's got more scar tissue than skin, the hell kinda middle aged dudes are you hanging around?
I think Falls-from-Grace or someone like that makes a comment about TNO looking like a vaguely middle-aged human, but the scar tissue makes it just a guess.
Living in Turkey is draining man...
Are there any stories about women waking up with amnesia that you know about? Interesting that it seems to be a lot more rare.
Wö-men can't have amnesia, silly
I’ve never seen it, but isn’t that what happens in Mulholland Drive?
Technically BG3 Dark Urge is fully costumisable
do 100 year old witchers count as middle-aged? if yes, throw the witcher 1 in there
Haven't played it because of how TERRIBLY it aged

The gameplay really makes it unplayable for me.
How does Torment/Tides of Numenera compare to DE? I wonder what y’all think

What is that dark city one?
Great dystopia sci-fi film. Check it out!
really good sci-fi movie. you'll see that a lot of "cliches" comes from that movie.
cinematography is also interesting. constant, quick cuts make it just a bit more anxious to watch
When i first started watching it, i was like "umm isn't this a bit cheesy?¿ Why people like this so much" then i quickly realised it came out long before those shots become cheesy. Really good watch. But the end is lame nevertheless
Concur 100% bro. It's a *cultural touchstone* of a film, it's not necessarily a *great* film.
Also it's a nice coincidence that movie is about *memories* since i'm reading the memory police at the moment. And teo of my favorite movies are also about the same topic: blade runner 2049 and world of tomorrow.
a fellow man of culture!
John Torment gotta be at least 1000 years old right?
Google tells me the Middle Ages were from 500 to 1500, so 1000 counts
dark city mentioned
[Seems a lot going around these days](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5Xa0ACKaNo)
Interesting note: genre and gender are actually the same word in Spanish (género).

The PC version works fine and is usually available for very cheap if you're interested
i'd recommend playing it on a pc. it could work on a toaster.
And they all turn out to be a world-ending threat/chosen dipshit
Remember Sammy Jankis
Paris, Texas
Haven't watched it yet 😭
Does The Courier count?
Dark City is so good
Shout out to Arx Fatlis for good measure.
As the kids say, HARDCORE!
