I know this is from a while ago but i thought of you while I was reading a court doc for an upcoming case of mine and the lawyers on this one are being paid 3.14$ per class member.
Sometimes that is very profitable per hour, and sometimes itās a sunken cost depending on the nature of the class and how much help they need from counsel. In most cases, Class Counsel makes some profit, but nothing huge.
I got it in my email as well. Contact info was at the bottom. So if you didnāt get the email and you think you should, go to this site: https://dreamkeysettlement.com
if you had a Dream Key AP in 2021, guests claimed they were unable to make park reservations despite Disneyās promise of āno blockout daysā and got sued.
If your husband is the one that bought both passes under his account, the email should go to him.
I got an email addressed to her this morning around 10 and one addressed to me around 12.
Got my two emails today...processed my refund...I'll get the money deposited into my checking account on 6/26...after I come back from my 6/20-6/23 Disneyland trip...which I'll need since I'll be broke from that trip...LOLOL...
Yes. I got separate emails for myself, partner, and kid. I was the one that purchased them so partner didnāt get email even though the pass was linked as their Disney account.
I just read KTLA's article on the lawsuit. There was an $9.5 million settlement to 103,435 key holders. Doing the math, it was $91.95 per holder. So $91.85 - $65.67 = $26.18 for the lawyers' fess and other services per holder. And $26.18 x 103,435 = $2.7 million total for the those fees and services. Which is 28% of the settlement. I don't think they missed out too much.
Well we actually have 3 keys. 2 rolled in within a half hour this morning, and the 3rd came late afternoon. Total comes to $297.01. Leaving for Florida Sunday for the first time ever to move my daughter into the Disney College Program, and until she's established and can get us in when we visit I can now get us tickets into the Magic Kingdom while we're there for $349 and some change, so this will pay for most of that!!
Does anyone know how they handle the refund for minors? I had keys for me, husband and kiddo. All under my email. Only received email for us 2 adults. Do they not qualify?
Update! Just received a check in the mail in my kids name. Weird, since I never received any emails for him and did not request in form of check. But at least it came through!
I got mine! It went to an old email address. I changed my PayPal email to something different a long time ago and Iām hoping the emails not matching doesnāt glitch out the payment but I didnāt wanna switch my PayPal email back just for this. Iāll gladly take this, itās around the price of a new video game! More $$$ than I was expecting anything like this to be.
Ya know, most of us just sucked it up because of Covid and the aftermath, but somebody had the balls to actually call them out on the reservation system when it first rolled out promising things we all had difficulty getting. Kudos to those that brought the lawsuit. Obviously Disney lost where the settlement was undisclosed, but we're now all getting a little compensation back for all of the initial reservation crap. The system has slowly gotten better, and if you can't get in then you need to learn how to work the system because it's not that hard to get in. Hopefully someday they'll get rid of it, but it doesn't look like it's coming anytime soon.
Great to hear! I purchased my Dream Key on August 25, 2021 so Iām assuming Iām part of this settlement. However I havenāt received money just yet. May I please know what email address it was from and the subject of the email?
You can unsend emails now but itās only for the first couple minutes after sending something. Itās for like realizing thereās a typo or you sent it to the wrong person.
$65.67. You can buy a churro for that.
This lawsuit is probably why they went up .50 cents this past year.
Approximately 11.94 churros too.
Was that emailed to you? I haven't received anything.
yes, I received the email at 8:36 this morning.
I just now got it. I'm super excited to get enough money for a snack and a balloon š¤£
Only the lawyers made any money on this. What a waste!
I work in class action lawsuits and youād be surprised how little money per hour the lawyers make on the cases
Iām sure itās more than $65

Sure but we also have overhead and student loans
Donāt we all
I don't have a violin tiny enough for *that* rendition of "My Heart Bleeds For You."
Is that the tiny violin song? I never bothered looking it up by any official title. Thank you for the info!
Usually how it goes... "justice" system is a joke
I got it in my email as well. Contact info was at the bottom. So if you didnāt get the email and you think you should, go to this site: https://dreamkeysettlement.com
It was in my spam folder on Gmail if anyone else is looking as well.
Funny to get an email today saying that Iāll get an email tomorrow. Hey, Iāll take $65.
I'm not up to date with any of this, can someone explain what the lawsuit was about?
if you had a Dream Key AP in 2021, guests claimed they were unable to make park reservations despite Disneyās promise of āno blockout daysā and got sued.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
thatās the reason I didnāt get the highest pass when they rebranded the Magic Keys. If Iām going to pay $1,650, I expect zero blockout days
My husband got his email, I'm waiting on mine. What a weird piece of Disney history to be a part of. š«¤

Are you going to Pride Night on the 20th?? I'm going solo for the weekend...
got that email around 11:47am today.. didn't know if it was a scam or not.. ahaha.. glad to know y'alls got the same email.. a lil more relieved now..
Just curious if anyone knows - if you had multiple dream passes is it per pass ? Or just one flat payment ?
should be per pass as long as it was a Dream Key
Awesome thank you!

Is this email legitimate?? Couldnāt tell if it was spam so Iām afraid to click on anything!!
well I submitted my claim this morning, so hopefully itās legit š

Did you ever get one for your kid? Iām still waiting for my daughterās but like you, the one for mine came already.
Nope! I emailed the info emai to inquire, no reply back yet though.
Update! Just received a check in the mail in my kids name. Weird, since I never received any emails for him and did not request in form of check. But at least it came through!
Good to hear! Iāll have to check my mail to see if it came in

My minor son received a check in his name in the mail before I even knew what was going on.
So this is not a scam right? The email came from epiqpay?
correct, from Epiqpay

How much did the attorneys make?
Anybody get their paper check through the mail yet ?
Havenāt gotten my email yet but my wife did.

I loaded up my mail. I saw the email. It refreshed and it is gone. Looked everywhere. I wonder if they āunsentā it
That's not really how email works.
You can unsend emails now but itās only for the first couple minutes after sending something. Itās for like realizing thereās a typo or you sent it to the wrong person.
You can only do that because the email was never sent in the first place. Thereās just a built in delay in sending that your email client gives you.
