I have a SPWB. I upgraded from the stock 305s to Continental Extreme Contact DWS 315s (they fit, no rubbing). They're grippy and still work in the Connecticut winters just fine.
Tint, changes the whole look of the car.
Especially on a black or dark colored trim Scat.
Edit: Don't worry about getting new tires yet. Don't try to save them either, enjoy burning them up! They won't last that long anyway...
Then, when the stock tires are toast, get yourself some 315 Super Sports or any good tire.
The idea with doing it this way is after driving on the crappy stock tires for a bit, you will really see just how much of a difference a good set of tires can make. They will totally wake up your Scat and make it feel like a completely different ride!
And if you do it this way, you will never forget WHY a good set of tires cost as much as they do. And you will also know why they are worth every flippin penny!
It’s not a widebody though 315s will stick way out on his. Plus it’s a Scat not a Hellcat. You shouldn’t need 315s with that kind of power unless their summer tires and it’s 20 degrees outside lol
Ah, I knew you had a Scat Pack. But I'm not sure why I got it in my head that you had a widebody... 😀
Well then, you are in the EXACT same place I was with my 2017 Daytona 392. And that's the car where I first went from stock tires to really good tires.
Of course, I didn't put 315's on that car, but I did put a set of really nice extreme contact 275's on her. As that was one of the most powerful cars I ever had, and it was the first time I spent the cash on really good tires, THAT'S where I first learned just how much of a difference really good tires can make.
Now, the Daytona 392 came with 275's, so I wasn't changing width, just grip. I couldn't believe how much better those Continental tires were. They were the exact same size as the originals, but the Continental's turned my Daytona into a completely different car.
Spinning can be fun; the sound, smoke, and laughter is a rush. But it's nothing compared to really hooking and booking! I think Dodge uses harder tires that they know will spin because they think that's what people expect from these cars.
But the first time you are able to really put the amazing torque our Hemi's make, directly to the pavement, you will NEVER forget that.
Why do AWD cars take off at the light, even with far less HP than we have? It's because they are putting every ounce of power they have to the ground.
Spinning can be fun, but spinning ain't winning. Hooking is winning, and IMO can be even more fun.
Besides, if you really stomp on it, our cars are still more than capable of burning rubber, even with the best tires 🤣
I agree. Spinning just sucks when trying to make a left turn across heavy traffic. It’s silly to me to have a performance car that performs worse pulling out of a driveway than my FWD hybrid.
Even at lights, if there’s any gravel on the road or if it’s uphill I’m gonna be sitting still spinning wheels if I try to gun it. I’m excited to put some new tires on and see the difference because my current set are like ice skates.
Bro I saw a 2020 with em on yesterday. It’s like safety first it doesn’t matter how many times you say it somebody’s fixing to get a smashed fingernail
I had a challenger rental a few weeks ago for work and it was a 2020 and it still had them. I wanted to take them off so bad but I didn’t know if I could with it being a rental. A year ago I would have been so pumped when they gave me a challenger gt. But soon as I got home with it I just let it stay parked for the week and drove my girl. It was kinda ragged out anyway. I will say GTs do feel kinda peppy.
Will installing a neutral plate guard (assuming I just take it to the dealer and have them do it so I don’t have to hassle with it) void the warranty at all?
Awesome! Unfortunately, I am the opposite of mechanically inclined (which maybe means I shouldn’t even own one of these cars to begin with, but hell, I love the old-school musclecar retro look), and this certainly wouldn’t be hard for even the average car guy, I know I can find someway to fuck this up, I promise you.
You can be as clueless as you like. Just never EVER take a dark beauty like that to an automatic car wash. Wash it yourself always… trust us on that you’ll regret it if you take to a car washing machine
Automatic car washing establishments even the good ones will always have grains of sand/dirt/ crap.
On those spinning brushes. Most noticeable on black you’ll get micro scratches and after a few dozen trips you’ll see just nothing but micro scratches white lines in the paint.
Look up car wash black paint in google image searches.
I had a white car and after a year subscription to my favorite car wash establishment it was horrible.
One day I saw it and couldn’t unsee it. No detailing it out ended up wrapping the car and ceramic coating it
Gotcha… That makes a lot of sense, thanks. Do you think this applies to the automatic car washes that don’t use the brushes? There’s one in my neighborhood that uses brush free soap and spray, etc..
Touch less is an option getting sticky dirt off without some kind of friction is hard so they use basically a light acid water solution. It won’t scratch but it is harsh and potentially over time erode the clear coat of paint.
I ruined my first charger for convenience… the best places if you can’t wash at home are self wash with those power washer handles then use personal sponges/felts. Especially with a ceramic coating it’ll be 10 15 minutes to wash and dry. Watch a video on cleaning your black car,
My apologies if I seem passionate here I had loads of coffee and then found out I have no work. And I mean I ruined my paint job on a white car. Black will be even worse
Oh man… No apologies necessary, I really appreciate all this information! Good to know about the do it yourself washes, I’m gonna start doing that, pronto.
Also get a third party ceramic coating should be less than 1K it’ll make the car look insanely Glossy and will make washing the car easygoing. Dirt grime will come off with no effort
I agree it’s good to learn but on the flip side if you buy a 60k car from a dealer you’d hope they’d be happy to take 10 minutes to install something for you
For sure, bro, I know you’re right… I have an appointment with the dealer in about a month anyways because I have a squeak going on in the passenger front wheel well (probably just a rock caught in the caliper), so I think I’ll just have them install it then…
You’d typically be correct. But I believe the hellion turbo company ( I think that’s the company name ) takes that into account and adds engine upgrades to allow for better handling of boost.
Also, He may not even need to go this route, as it sounds like Dodge finally came out with the direct connection kits for scat packs
The only way for a 6.4 to last on forced induction is if it’s rebuilt for that which is easily another 10Grand. There’s a reason boosted 6.4s are rare. Just a hassle and even then you’re still playing with fire. 5.7 he is handle boost almost as well as a throwing boost on a stock LS motor.
But if money isn’t an issue for him , all power to him but he’d be a fool to boost a 6.4 without the funds for a spare on deck ready to go.
Honestly, just drive it. You’ll want to do ALL THE THINGS to it, and add to it whatever makes you happy, but once you do, you’ll never have that pure fresh-from-factory feeling again. Just enjoy it, take fun pictures, then go ham.
Wider wheels to accommodate wider and better tires. It's great having 485 hp. It is better being able to put that power down from the start. Need some 20x10.5 or 11 in the rear to use some 315/35r20 and a 20x9.5 in the front for 275/40r20. You'll notice a world of difference.
Edit: Make sure you don't cheat out on the tires either.
I did a auto loan through USAA, I got the car at 55K and my payments are $917 my car insurance is $326 a month and my APR is 9% pretty steep but I am also a truck driver and own two trucks
Security measures to prevent theft like a mental box to hold the keys in to prevent signal duplication, there’s also some blocks for the transmission, it prevent you from moving it into N via the emergency window they have inside the car
I was surprised at the trunk space in these cars. Consider finding a little person trying to do the r/urbancarliving thing. Provide them a glock with a different kind of 'killswitch' (brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt).
Wider tires 100%. Since the original charger Daytona, probably even before that, Mopar’s have come from factory SEVERELY “under-tired”. Way too skinny. Get yourself some traction and thank me later lol
Get Michelin Pilot Sports tires and once you complete 3000 miles or say 4800 km, put
Redline's Complete Fuel System Cleaner.
It will ensure that your car runs buttery smooth and puts out its full power.
Man just keep it the way it is too many people try to do stupid stuff that makes there challenger look cheese ball your car is clean just keep it that way.
Nothing. Keep it factory and drive it max 2,500 miles per year. Sell in 5 years from now when V8 is no longer an option for a while and make twice your money.
Personally a darker tint if you hate the people in your neighborhood a mid muffler delete is the best mod for 200 bucks or a cat back exhaust if you wanna do it properly, bumb up the tires to 275 r20 size minimum. Bigger will require new rims and possibly some suspension mods. But 275 r 20 won’t require any additional work depending on the brand of tire
Take the bananas off
Yea I took them off soon as I got home
Yes please do.. dirt can get under them and scratch the paint
Very happy this is top haha
Came here for this.
Better tires but keep everything stock just enjoy it
My factory tires lasted 35k. No idea how and for $1,000 for a new set, couldn't say no.
Wtf? Mine must be junk. I've been through 3 sets in 20,000 miles
Mine came with Nexen tires . Street slicks . Got 12,000 on them and they’re almost done.
1320 are worth it
That's not normal driving. Come on...
Who drives a challenger with normal driving? 😂
Actually what tires y’all recommend for a charger scatpack
I have a SPWB. I upgraded from the stock 305s to Continental Extreme Contact DWS 315s (they fit, no rubbing). They're grippy and still work in the Connecticut winters just fine.
Nitto nt555 if she's a daily driver.
I use BF Goodrich Comp 2 all around. Love them.

Yep for sure! I couldn't believe the difference after I got my first set of good rubber. I envy you, you're in for a really good time!
Mobilistics.com is what I got when I got mine and it’s easy and peace of mind, also did a neutral plate guard from destroyer1320.com!
And take the bananas off before the comments become filled with that😂
It’s so stupid people have heard the banana thing a million time we all know by now
Bro I saw a 2020 with em on yesterday. It’s like safety first it doesn’t matter how many times you say it somebody’s fixing to get a smashed fingernail

Thanks just ordered a Neutral plate cover

No. They’d happily install it for you. But it’d be good to tackle it yourself. Watch a vid get your hands on the Gal.

It’s really super easy bro I wouldn’t have a dealer ship do it if they are going to charge!
I agree it’s good to learn but on the flip side if you buy a 60k car from a dealer you’d hope they’d be happy to take 10 minutes to install something for you

You should get anti theft mods. Very easy to steal.
This
Get it Ceramic coated. Don't abuse it.
👍👍👍☝️☝️☝️NO AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES… EVER! Ceramic coat and hand wash at home preferably dusk or early dawn before it gets hot
Hellion twin turbo kit 😎😂
6.4 cannot handle boost He’s gonna spend 14k on the kit just to enjoy it for 2 weekends. Then he’s out of a car and a kit

Leave it stock, take off the bananas
5% tint. 20% windshield
I completely agree but the windshield is a cop magnet depending on were you live.
Because tinted windshields are terrible to see through on both sides and just not safe
No lies told
Keep it stock lol
Definitely get a dash cam for the crazy drivers out there lol
Get rid of the training bra on your bumper. On a real note I wouldn’t do much to a financed car, but if you bought it out right do whatever you want.
How much a month did you get it? Trying to see if it’s worth upgrading to a scat. If you don’t mind me asking
I did a auto loan through USAA, I got the car at 55K and my payments are $917 my car insurance is $326 a month and my APR is 9% pretty steep but I am also a truck driver and own two trucks
900 a month!? Holy shit I thought my payments were high
in 2029 youll own the car i guess
I’d assume 2030 but the note won’t mature. That’s a big payment. I just paid off my truck after five years and hell I’m relieved.

Corsa exhaust when you're ready to look into that. I love mine.
Ceramic coat. You will spend a ton of time cleaning it otherwise
Depends on what you want. Tint for sure. Some add a spoiler. I like the rebadged look. Hellcat replica wheels. A wrap if you’re into that.
Go to factory reproductions get some 5 spoke fatter rims. Change the pizza cutters out and lose the chrome lugs.

A good ceramic coating. Protect that paint.
The best aftermarket alarm system you can possibly afford

Super duper security system
I was surprised at the trunk space in these cars. Consider finding a little person trying to do the r/urbancarliving thing. Provide them a glock with a different kind of 'killswitch' (brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt).
Good security system
Wider tires 100%. Since the original charger Daytona, probably even before that, Mopar’s have come from factory SEVERELY “under-tired”. Way too skinny. Get yourself some traction and thank me later lol
Pay for it. Lol. Congratulations. TBH. Revel in it first. Enjoy yourself. Then start upgrading it.

First thing you should do is sell it to me for a dollar 🙈🙈🙈😂😂 jkjk but definitely leave it as is that thing is fire!
Theft protection measures unless you have a garage. In that case a gun for the inevitable home invasion heist.
Sell it
Extra rear quarter glass. A few should do🤣🫡. And a shop vac.
Invest in a really good pair of floor mats. I’m sure you wanna keep your baby clean!
Take off the damn yellow shipping guards.
Change the headlight to the hellcat box.
A immobilizer because it’s going to get stolen
Nothing. Just drive it.
Install a neutral strap cover 🫣

Pray you don't get car jacked so some hood rat can show off at a slideshow.
Nothing. Keep it factory and drive it max 2,500 miles per year. Sell in 5 years from now when V8 is no longer an option for a while and make twice your money.
Put Demon and Hellcat stickers all over it.

Wrap it, protect the paint.
Or just performance mods for the next guy when he steals it.
Dildo for the drivers seat!
