The Last Call 2023 Chargers got the 345 badge instead of the standard Hemi badge.
I had a guy just last week ask about it. He thought I just put a 345 badge on a V6, so I remote started it (have a muffler delete) and let it rumble. We had a pretty cool chat for a few minutes about it.
1 liter is 61.024 cubic inches, but manufacturers get creative with their rounding. The 5.7 hemi is 345 cubic inches, a 5.7 chevy is 350 cubic inches, a 5.7 Ford is 351, I believe the 5.7 Toyota is 348 but don't quote me on that. It's engine displacement. It's how we used to measure engine size before metric started taking over.
No, they didn't. 351 cubic inches is 5.659 liters. Ford rounded up to 5.8 to be "bigger" than GM's iconic 350. But it's total bullshit since neither engine is truly 5.7
Correct me if I'm wrong, but 351/61.02=5.75, which would round to 5.8... and a 350/61.02=5.73, which would round to 5.7... so no bullshittery here I think. I'm no fanboy, but I do like correct math.
Yeah no I totally fucked up my math. I was going off memory that it was 62.023 inches, but i was corrected and its actually 61.024 so yeah I'm way off. 5.75 still isn't 5.8, and they only rounded up to be bigger than chevy. It was a 351 specifically to be bigger than cchevy. I'm just not gonna ever call it a 5.8 because I don't care for Ford
Ah, gotcha. I got no allegiance, I own a Toyota, two dodges and a Ford, and there may be a Chevy in the future.
If I were Ford, I'd want my premier half-ton engine to have a different number from their rivals, Chevy has their 5.7 and Dodge had their 5.9, so Ford had the choice of either 5.8 or 5.6, and since automakers were going away from the original CI to CC displacement, choices.
Regardless, glad I wasn't missing something.
Oh damn you're right, it's been awhile since I looked it up. 61.024. So my math was being generous in favor of these companies and they were still falling short of 5.7
The 5.7 hemi is really a 5654 cc in size or 5.654 liters.
345 cubic inches equals 5655. You divide cubic inches by 61 to get liters. But as it's been said on here, manufacturers round the numbers. The 345 bage goes back to the 1950s.
The ever popular 6.4 today is actually a 390cid motor (6407cc), but mopar never had a 390, so they called the 6.4 a 392 to make sales. But would you know the difference between a 6407 and 6426 cc motor? No.
The Cid listing was all a part of mopars Heritage Sales campaign.
345 badges do exist for the final year of the Challenger and Charger RTs- but they are actual badges, not stickers or decals like what's on this one. Either this is not a real RT or they swapped the badge because that decal is not OEM
2023 Last Call R/Ts indeed get 345 badge cuz of the 5.7L V8 = 345 cubic inches
The 2023 models got the 345 badge instead of the Hemi badge

My 2023 Challenger has the 345 badge. It’s raised though, not like the decal in the picture.
The 345 is correct but new models don’t get decals; an actual badge should be there
I’ve seen decals too from factory
Someone should put a 1 2 before it and 6 7 8 9 after it. 😂
Dude….. you got me singing the pin-ball song from Sesame Street 🤣🤣🤣
What’s the meaning of 345 and 395 anyway? Engine size?
5.7 liters = 345 cubic inches
345 cubic inches on the 5.7 engine, 392 cubic inches on the 6.4

Fords never had a 5.7l they’ve had a 5.8L 351 though
They also had the 5.4 Triton.
Yes they did. I’m simply just making it known that ford never had a 5.7 they had a 5.8 though.
No, they didn't. 351 cubic inches is 5.659 liters. Ford rounded up to 5.8 to be "bigger" than GM's iconic 350. But it's total bullshit since neither engine is truly 5.7

Omg we got a genius oh snap crackle there’s go your crack rock!
Yeah no, you're just an asshole
Yeah, no, I'm not playing that "we're better than chevy" game. There's no math that makes 351 a 5.8
Think it’s 61.02. Either way, like you said they all round up. My 302 is stoked to a 347 which is 5.68 I’m going with 5.7.

Anyone remember the late 70's Pontiac Trans Am 6.6? (T/A 6.6) I think it was 400 CI which would be rounded down!
Yes there's some Creative brands that round up like a short Friday.
Cubic inches
392*
cubic inches of displacement
Not all the last calls have them either, mines a 2023 and no badge.
strange? its not a specific package, i believe all 2023s, last call packages or not, got the 345 badge. i could be wrong tho
I have the daytona so maybe it has something to do with that
My 23 RT came with it, no special package.

Yessir R/T
Yeah it’s an R/T
That one is fake since it's a vinyl

Nope
on 2023 RT units, Charger or Challenger, they receive this badge to commemorate the 5.7 HEMi = 345 c.i.
That don’t look right
Yes! It idles at 345 cubic microns per 8th quarter of a second. Very rare option.
That or someone forgot how to count!
Legit 345 Hemi designation with a cheap homemade non OEM 345 badge.
Was about to ask if that was the i6 output. Barras are easily there at 4.0l.
4.0L = 345ci? Is that what you are implying? Cuz that’s not even close.
Read. Out. Put.
