I know it’s a regular season game, but a performance like this really shows that he can be a big-game pitcher for us. Given the game and the opponent, this has to be his best start so far in his young Dodgers career.
The game outcome:
Yamamoto’s performance last night - just a regular season game.
Yamamoto had he gave up runs last night - Yamamoto can’t even handle regular season game lights in NY.
Narratives really dependent on who’s telling.
Yeah the offense is terrible right now. The 6-9 hitters are absolutely anemic. BUT the pitching staff has so much heart. Pitching wins championships and they got enough pitching. I hope they pitch this well in October, thats all I ask 🤞
You know the bottom half hasn’t been great but the top four weren’t great either. My only complain would be why is lux in there specially the whole game. Why is Jayhey ahead of pages. Pages got two hard outs and has no protection behind him, and kike also shoulda been right behind pages.
Love that he was consistently throwing 97 and touching 98. Threw over 100 pitches, he set the tone for the game. Absolute nails. What a fucking game. I watched a recording and just finished and I’m so hyped and miss the jubilation of the post game thread going bananas real time.
Yes but Yamamoto was dicing up everyone. So maybe a hit like mookie but doesn’t necessarily mean it would have turned into runs. Would def had an impact but also dodgers missing Muncy and dodgers have Buehler miller rehabbing, and Kershaw in the wings and their closer not available. Neither team was at its best but plenty good to compete
I love this highlight. This was definitely a big game for him I’m sure against the Yankees at home and he delivered I agree with those saying this is a good sign for his post season clutch factor
There’s an overlay video of Yamamoto throwing his splitter and his fastball. The ball movement was very different. But his mechanics don’t change. It isn’t until the last few seconds of the video, you realize that Yamamoto is overlayed also. Hitters get no extra clues from him. And I think he’ll only improve.

Poor Glasnow has to face off against the kid who has allowed just a handful of hits all year and just 3ER over his last 44.2IP. Literally feel bad for the dude.
Kid seem to be getting better and better. If Stone can nail down the Yanks today then we have 3 guys who can dominate the game. With the depth of the bullpen, that is enough to get us to the playoffs. Really think Yoshinobu is premier.
Yammamoto I was not a fan of signing for that type of contract and still am not. But will say his arsenal of pitches makes him SO hard to hit against. You can see him from one game to another and he is not the same pitcher. Seemed fastball slider today for strikeouts. BOTH look exactly the same until they don't.
Another game he will go heavy forkball. Another game different approach. Amazing to see someone have the arsenal AND control on both halves of the plate to do what the analytical guys want in their game plan. Sort of a stat geek wet dream!!

He didn’t get the win on the stat sheet, but he got the win in our hearts.
Bro said not today New York

But we seen if any of the big 4 have an off game series…it could be a problem..
Kike was actually the most productive hitter tonight in terms of total bases. He hit a double and walked before he got picked off.
Yeah on the pickoff you got to give it to the Yankees, it was perfect execution and it needed to be to get him out by a hair

He stopped the Yankees 8 winning streaks. Yamamoto deserves a medal.

Against the damned yanks!!!
AT THEIR PLACE.
Yoshi was nails today
He’s gonna win some gold glove when its all said and done
He absolutely diced them up. That was a great performance.
We r missing the second best hitter in baseball. And against our worst starter

Shoutout to Banda, BlaQ, Huddy, Grover, and the Yohan as well
He showed the Yankees why he deserved to get paid 325 million, just not more than Gerrit Cole though.
dodgers got the dub, that’s what matters
I want Yoshi to strikeout my soul 💙

Anyway to keep the Yankees from a win I love it!

Wow that’s crazy! His fastball command makes him so tough
Such a satisfying game. Can’t wait for Dodgers to smack them down again for seconds.

Overall, I loved the pitch selection and the decision to not give Judge anything to work with after his double.
It’s disappointing when guys have outings like this and don’t figure in for a win. He was dealing yesterday.
Yeah but he set the blue up for a win. He’s got a lot more W’s coming his way.
