If DD had it thier way we would already be in full slave labor lol, as it is the DD support obviously makes nothing, they seem like they could care less about their job too lol
Not really? Just because it sounds like something else in English doesn’t mean it’s weird. I’m sure a lot of our names sound crazy to other cultures too.

It was also the odd capitilazations. Like "KushDeep" Sure it could be a normal name somewhere, but the capital D in the middle of the name looks odd to me.
I think the crazy part is the fact they thought cause they work in the US they were going to get US employees helping them lolololz. I haven’t spoken to someone whose native tongue is English in yeeeeears when calling for help.
I know! I feel bad for the child. Imagine every time they need to sign up for an account, bank, job, etc. It will be so annoying because that is their *legal* name
But those are real names….what gets me is when the support worker tells me that their name is Rachel or Christopher.
I used to work with a girl named Baldeep and her brother Mandeep.
We are, let's be clear, already well beyond slave labor. They expect us to take orders that lose money for us instead of earning us money already. And they, at very least threaten to, punish us if we don't.
I get your point, DD is ripping most everyone off that uses their apps and probably restaurants too. And for some people DD may be the only option they have to provide for themselves , if that is the case then it is basically modern day slave labor.
As messed up as the food delivery apps are, that's not slave labor. If you want to stop doing it right now, you can. No legal repercussions. No physical harm. You are not forced to do this (shitty) labor as you are not a slave.
You said we are well beyond slave labor. That's a ridiculous statement. Why is it ridiculous? Because you were still door dashing and you aren't forced to.
Mine is usually 2.50 but I've seen 2.00 lately for a full order.
Didn't think that was possible. Kinda weird seeing 2.00 lately for kinda short distances.
I don't take them.
Yeah it seems to be relevant to similar offers in the area. I got a high paying banner because someone was gracious enough to tip $5 at 3 am in my small one Sonic and one McDonald’s town.
If we did the math on it , you would pretty much breaking even or losing money to take that order. And you know that DD/UE doesn’t care about cost of gas , tires , oil changes , or your time has gone up and it continues too. I personally am glad I stop doing DD/UE. Good luck to all of you. I really enjoy the posts and awesome responses. 💪
At some point dashers are going to realize they get the same orders regardless of "priority." The only difference is they put an asterisk next to the ones that they are "rewarding" you with so you will continue taking the BS orders...
Exactly this. I get better and larger offers when I'm at Silver. As soon as I hit Platinum, I keep getting these "High Pay" offers back to back and end up declining 7 out of 10 offers. Then I hit Silver and the cycle keeps repeating.
Same here, I hit “gold” and I start getting offers quicker but they’re all shitty. Seems like silver is the place to sit unless you’re trying to super cherry pick and only take $3/mile orders and have nuked your AR 😂
That's my point. My AR is 18% and I still get good orders without taking the BS ones...if I have to decline 9 in order to get 1 good one, it still pays more than taking 2 or 3 bad orders...
I mean I don’t blame you at all, I do the same thing, but I’ve never had an issue keeping my AR above 60%. If it’s not $1/mile or at least $5 I don’t fux with it.
Wait till the tier program hits your market. You're effectively deactivated below 50% because they don't send you any offers. You also can't dash now, and are at the bottom for scheduling.
I had the worst offers I've ever had from DD tonight. After declining about 15 in a row, they put up a banner on top of the app: 'NOT ACCEPTING OFFERS LOWERS YOUR ACCEPTANCE RATE".
No shit, Sherlock. They are so used to drivers accepting shit offers to keep their AR high that they can't believe some drivers don't want to lose money.
In my market, you never know an offer is $3 per mile. They hide the tip amount in unpredictable ways. It's not like if an offer is $6 there's always a higher tip, as many people in this sub keep saying. There are offers with random amounts, like $8, $18, $11, etc. that have hidden tips.
Maybe you're in a market where they are required by law to show the whole amount up front and not hide tips. That would make sense since you know when you're actually making $3 a mile, unlike most markets.
That’s exactly why gig apps are constantly hiring every day/in every area… You can only do so many low paying deliveries before you figure out you’re actually losing money (as well as making your life miserable) in the whole process of things.
Not trying to be a shill or anything, but this is absolutely not true in my area. I make $25+ an hour as a Platinum dasher and barely scrape $20 when I'm not and I've done months of testing.
It's true. I was platinum tier for like 5 seconds before my monthly orders went way down and the orders I was getting were nothing crazy. Now I'm the lowest one & I've gotten really good offers and bad offers. It's all BS. I don't think the ratings matter as much as they say unless your area is super over saturated, but here at least it seems like there's a high turnover rate for drivers so it's not always like that.
Pretty sure it's considered "high paying" due to the short amount of distance between the business and the delivery location, not taking into consideration your distance from the order pick up.
He’s not 3 miles away. It’s a glitch with the gps. The app knows he’s closer to the restaurant but the glitch thinks he’s further away (where the black line starts). In reality it’s 4 bucks for 2 miles or something less. So that’s why it’s a high pay order (based on DD’s 2$ per mile “high pay” standard). Y’all need to open your eyes and do a little bit of brain storming. Damn.
I was kinda thinking this. But that shit is kinda stupid. May take me 10-15 minutes waiting at a restaurant for the food I do not want to do that for 3-4 orders. I’d much rather do 2 orders with a longer drive.
Yes, like they said, it's because the app doesn't consider your distance from pickup. If you were to start near or at the restaurant this would be a "high paying" order as drop-off looks to be right around the corner, probably under a mile.
$4 per .5 miles is very high paying.
Base pay should go up if you have to drive further to the restaurant. Starts at $1.5, and every mile adds a dollar. Would have made the total for this order $7.
Looks like it didn't realize you were going away from the order on the highway when it generated the order.
If you were pointed towards it you'd be looking at $2/mi, which is their criteria for "high pay". The fact that you have to drive a mile and half just to turn around is what's killing it.
Sad truth is the AR game only works if you’re above 80%. Below that and it hardly matters since it’s tiered. Then again I haven’t dashed in a few months since my car has some extended repairs it needs before driving so it’s just my normal job for now until then.
Seems like the initial quoted distance was wrong and based on path prediction. Perhaps High pay offer notice is based on actual distance rather than the initial quote, in which case it’s ~$2/mile and would qualify in most areas.
It just mean out of all thr orders placed, that is the highest pay out. Sound like people just arnt tipping that hight at that point in time. Door dash cant give u whats not there.
Were you driving toward the Sonic at the time? if so, that's really about a mile total and the app fucked up the distance calculation when it generated the offer, I think
They’re only paying for the distance from the restaurant to the customer. It’s funny how I navigate to a hot zone and immediately get an order from the hot zone restaurant for $4 going 3 miles. I want pay from my location to the restaurant as well!

When you sign into the app, it should give you an option of earn by order or earn by time. However, the earn by time might only be available during busy times (in your area)
The fact that people are willing to work for this and basically go negative. Makes me sick do do not fall in the DoorDash find a different way to make money. DoorDash is shit.
I know I’m not DoorDash. I’m Instacart but I had a similar experience yesterday. I asked support if I could get an extra $15 for a batch that was over a 1/4 ton. I got the highest amount of heavy pay which is $15 for 149+lbs. not including tips I made $23.44 and the support person said that it was excellent pay. I called him and his supervisor that they were delusional if they thought that was excellent.
It might actually be. And I say that because the map sometimes screws up and suggests you drive the wrong way on the wrong side of the road and then pull a u-turn to go the wrong way again. My thought is you might actually be heading the proper direction towards the restaurant and drop off already and it thinks you're facing the opposite direction which therefore more than doubles the mileage because of the black line suggesting the suggested turnaround point.
Half of those miles are because of where you are and the backtracking from the next exit. When the offer was sent to you it was probably right before you got on that road or just before you passed an exit that you could have turned around on. Timing isn't always the best. But they probably sent that out as $4 for 1.5 miles, but then you immediately passed a turn as it was loading up navigating, making it reroute longer miles. My guess.

Reminds me of this, even though the app says I have priority for high offers 😂😂
That pay sucks. In reality, Doordash should be raising the base pay much higher for these no/low tip customers.
It's quite cringe and embarrassing that Tony Xu thinks that people can run an orphanage off this kind of crap
Look to 12:40 in this segment from John Oliver if you wonder why I bring up the orphanage thing:
https://youtu.be/aFsfJYWpqII?si=IgircHrIQ9rx13bL
The highest I’ve ever seen on dash was 4.50, for some reason I never took a single delivery. Stopped using the app entirely in two days. It wasn’t even worth filling my time between other apps
Imagine if every DDer just quit and got an actual career. Price of food would drop, the over lords will go bankrupt, and everyone would have a decent wage.
Dreams…
I wish we would all work together to bounce orders back and forth to each other denying them all until it’s at least 2-3$ per mile and 5$ min order in under 2 miles. But that ain’t ever gonna happen
Is this job seriously worth anyone's time?
Like, do any of you actually make any meaningful amount of money, or are you just driving around for hours, burning gas, destroying your vehicle, and barely yielding anything?
I'm genuinely curious
They are screwing up a lot. They’ve stopped adding mileage from store to house a few times this week and then refused to add money for me despite 18 extra miles and instead paid me half to eat the food.
I guess DD rounded down today.
-Happens all the fucking time. I would want to decline it just because of the false advertisement. I guess $16 an hour dash time is the new $20.
This is why I do not care anymore. My AR is 10% and I use Doordash now as a whore while I work Walmart Spark pretty much all weekend, only take Doordash in between my orders or as a dirty stack. Top dashers and the customer base make me laugh, all trash!
That’s because all they do is send orders to anyone (regardless of your AR) and change the color on drivers that have a high AR. I have stood next to so many drivers and I get the same order. Then they do, with the green color. Don’t let DD manipulate you and think you get better orders. They send them to everyone and hope someone takes.
It’s because most of the drive is you getting to the store. It looks like the store is <1 mile from the customer. It isn’t taking into account the distance you have to travel to get to the store. I get a bunch of “high pay offers” that are $4-5 for .8-1.5 miles.
I took one of these recently but I don’t recall what platform. It was less than 1/2 mile away. For $3. I was already in front of the pick up location. Problem was, the drop off was an apartment and they didn’t tell me which building. Took way tooo long for even less than 1/2 mile.
As not a driver, how much time would this take? This seems like so little even if it would take 15 minutes, that would only be $16/hr, not what i would call high paying.
"high paying" threshold is...
- anything 5 miles and under counts as double base pay for your area(5 miles, $4+)
- anything over 5 miles, anything base pay + $0.50/mi or higher. (5 miles, $4.50+)
I don’t exit my car for less than $8…. it’s probably “high paying” bc the base pay is $4 instead of $2 and no bid was placed for service. Nope wouldn’t take it
It's like this: take a minute to read this through...
At the time that order came into DD and was ready to be assigned to a driver, it was a high paying order when compared to the other orders available at that moment. So they offered it to drivers who had high paying order priority (HPOP). For the sake of this post I'll call these high pay orders (HPOP).
People are confused. Being HPOP doesn't mean you only get orders that meet a certain threshold, for example $2/mile or total pay of $8. If it did require an order to exceed a certain fixed threshold (example: $2/mile or $8) then what would happen to the HPOP drivers when orders are below that threshold? They'd get ZERO orders. Why? Because none are above $2/mile or total pay $8.
So, the HPOP drivers get priority on orders that are considered HPOP, compared to other orders, at the time they're available for assignment.
They really can't do it any other way. So, it isn't DD that's giving you a low paying order. It's the customers. Because, at the moment the $2 McDonald's order comes in, noone else is paying better. Not the $1.75 Little Caesars (2 miles), not the $20 BJs order (20 miles).
When orders are flowing in in high numbers, you're more likely to see what you may consider a higher paying order. Because there are more orders for the system to consider offering to you and the likelihood of a decent $9/3 mile order is greater.
BUT, when customers stop wanting to pay for the DD service, you're screwed. It's the customers NOT DD that offered you that $2/1.75 mile order.
Are there different routes you can take to cut time? It looks like the delivery is super close, if you have a side road or back road that you can get to the destination in 5 minutes, that’s not actually terrible.
It is, because regular pay is $1.50 because soon enough DD wants their deliveries delivered for almost free.
If DD had it thier way we would already be in full slave labor lol, as it is the DD support obviously makes nothing, they seem like they could care less about their job too lol
Last two times I chatted with DD support their names were "MahBoob" and "KushDeep" and unless i'm stupid I can't imagine those are real names.
100% those are real names. Mahboob is Arabic, Khushdeep is Punjabi
Lmao that's crazy if true.
Not really? Just because it sounds like something else in English doesn’t mean it’s weird. I’m sure a lot of our names sound crazy to other cultures too.
When pronounced correctly they probably don’t sound how some here are imagining…
Literally this!!
Yup, mahboob is the word "beloved" in Arabic. But there's no real equivalent to the letter "ح" in english for "محبوب".

It’s not crazy that people hundreds of thousands of miles away from each other came up with words that sound almost the same? Okay you sound boring.
I think the crazy part is the fact they thought cause they work in the US they were going to get US employees helping them lolololz. I haven’t spoken to someone whose native tongue is English in yeeeeears when calling for help.
😂
[Mehboob](https://www.onlymyhealth.com/baby-names/meaning-of-name-mehboob-1427779886#) and [Khushdeep](https://www.names.org/n/khushdeep/about)
Mahboob means "beloved" or "darling" 😊
Mehbigcok is Scandinavian
Yea I guess so. Indians have some pretty cool sounding names
Wait til you start chatting with X Æ A-Xii

I’ve messaged a Maboob A with Amazon flex lol
KushDeep? That sounds like a great strain, we should see if we can find this and try it once!
That's funny I get them too and also sometimes "YourAss" and "CrackPie". Interesting names nowadays
His name is HarDik https://preview.redd.it/f3wevuxhdzuc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6829cd7c42bf4fe0607363d824cddfa5209402d

No they'd rather you paid them for the privilege of delivering for them
We are, let's be clear, already well beyond slave labor. They expect us to take orders that lose money for us instead of earning us money already. And they, at very least threaten to, punish us if we don't.

I don't agree with that either.
Yea but if ppl are doing it for 1.50 it's already free. Miss me with that struggle I rather pick up cans

Absolutely correct. From restaurant to drop off it’s like a mile. Sucks he’s 3 miles away
Once I get to the store it's less than a mile
That's normal here in the Norfolk area see that all day and all night
It’s 2 miles or less of a delivery. That’s why
4 dollars will never be high paying
I’ve taken a ton of high pay orders but every one is at least $3 per mile. I’ve never seen one like that. That’s a turd.
It just mean out of all thr orders placed, that is the highest pay out. Sound like people just arnt tipping that hight at that point in time. Door dash cant give u whats not there.
Because it says it is
Ain't making $50 an hour that way
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Puffery
Relative to the normal rate, this is gravy.
That's your reward for keeping high percentages and taking low value you orders. Literally. Not a joke. Congratulations.
I don't get any of that type of stuff of course my AR is about 30%
Well it’s higher than $2
Yes I get that too n I happily decline 4.8 miles for 4 dollars then it takes us out of the zone hek no I’m not taking it

Its a High Pay, offer. you gotta be high to accept that pay.
Were you driving toward the Sonic at the time? if so, that's really about a mile total and the app fucked up the distance calculation when it generated the offer, I think

Because someone was really high
Given you were closer to the store, yes. That is in fact a high paying order. You just got the order in the wrong area
Because if you accepted that order/pay…you must be high AF.
Not the order.... the customer was high duh
![gif](giphy|nqLrjKLDBabpQwoSzG|downsized)
Because the customer is 7 feet tall?
haha, me yesterday with $3.50 chick fila orders for nearly four miles
Distance from restaurant to house is like less than a mile. If you were already over there it would be easy 5 minutes for 4 bucks
They’re only paying for the distance from the restaurant to the customer. It’s funny how I navigate to a hot zone and immediately get an order from the hot zone restaurant for $4 going 3 miles. I want pay from my location to the restaurant as well!

Then you need to do EBT.
How do I do that?
When you sign into the app, it should give you an option of earn by order or earn by time. However, the earn by time might only be available during busy times (in your area)
Ohhhh ok thank you
You’re welcome. Good luck.
It is high order cause it’s like a.5 mile . It’s because you are far away

you DD drivers are chumps

Stop working for this garbage company. The workers lose. The customers lose. You all are worth so much more.
They got to be tripping
Door Dash was highly paid. Not you, silly.
Meanwhile, at the therapist be like. So much GARBO
Don’t accept them unless it 1 mile or less. These are scams
LMAO
It's not
My favorites are the “high pay” shop and deliver orders where it’s $10 for 2 miles but 26 items.
I had a "high pay" 10$ Aldi's order for 61 items yesterday 🥹
Half of those miles are because of where you are and the backtracking from the next exit. When the offer was sent to you it was probably right before you got on that road or just before you passed an exit that you could have turned around on. Timing isn't always the best. But they probably sent that out as $4 for 1.5 miles, but then you immediately passed a turn as it was loading up navigating, making it reroute longer miles. My guess.

Dimond orders are a joke
That pay sucks. In reality, Doordash should be raising the base pay much higher for these no/low tip customers. It's quite cringe and embarrassing that Tony Xu thinks that people can run an orphanage off this kind of crap Look to 12:40 in this segment from John Oliver if you wonder why I bring up the orphanage thing: https://youtu.be/aFsfJYWpqII?si=IgircHrIQ9rx13bL
In Doordash standard $4.00 is way too high for 4.8 miles. They believe we should only earn $2.00 per order.
The highest I’ve ever seen on dash was 4.50, for some reason I never took a single delivery. Stopped using the app entirely in two days. It wasn’t even worth filling my time between other apps
Double the normal $2 premium
Why people do DoorDash for? Everybody in the money losing business or what
For the high paying they only count miles from restaurant to customer so if that over $2 a mile, it’s high paying.
The pick up and drop off are close! You're just far way!
That’s not even high paying to my 10 year old
You lucky dog you got more than $0.0567 per mile what a high paying order 🤣😅😭😭
Imagine if every DDer just quit and got an actual career. Price of food would drop, the over lords will go bankrupt, and everyone would have a decent wage. Dreams…
It has a diamond icon.
Probably the delivery is 200ft from its destination
I wish we would all work together to bounce orders back and forth to each other denying them all until it’s at least 2-3$ per mile and 5$ min order in under 2 miles. But that ain’t ever gonna happen
Is this job seriously worth anyone's time? Like, do any of you actually make any meaningful amount of money, or are you just driving around for hours, burning gas, destroying your vehicle, and barely yielding anything? I'm genuinely curious

Kicker is the customer tipped $10.
They are screwing up a lot. They’ve stopped adding mileage from store to house a few times this week and then refused to add money for me despite 18 extra miles and instead paid me half to eat the food.
Because that’s where DoorDash is headed. Start taking them now because that’s all we’ll have soon enough
It’s high pay alright, for doordash
I think it based it on distance vs pay. Still garbage.
I guess DD rounded down today. -Happens all the fucking time. I would want to decline it just because of the false advertisement. I guess $16 an hour dash time is the new $20.
It has a Diamond 💎!! And no other Dasher wants to pick it up.
I mean they’re right next to each other you’re just a ways off. It’s probably like 0.5 mi from pick up to drop off so that’s not a bad order lol
Because you would have to be high to think this is pay...
Higher than 3 Lol yeah fuck doordash
Because it’s one dollar more than what they offered another driver 😂
Because you’d have to be high to accept it
It’s high pay for the distance it is from the restaurant to the drop off, not the distance you have to drive to get there.
I stg half of mine aren’t above $5 Had one that was 3.50 for like 8 miles at a 3rd floor apartment. I was pissed.
“Cause we wanna pay you 1”
not to mention these orders aren’t by any means high paying. they’re low mileage. blatant lies
This is why I do not care anymore. My AR is 10% and I use Doordash now as a whore while I work Walmart Spark pretty much all weekend, only take Doordash in between my orders or as a dirty stack. Top dashers and the customer base make me laugh, all trash!
They consider anything above two dollars to be high pay.

ANYTHING over "BASE" ($2) is "HIGH" pay to them (cuz it's more money they do NOT get)...!
Smh terrible
It is high paying for doordash, not you.
That actually doesn't look that bad for quick one
We gotta boycott dd
4 dollars for 15 mins or less of work isn’t that bad
This is why I stopped doing pay per offer
I took one of these recently but I don’t recall what platform. It was less than 1/2 mile away. For $3. I was already in front of the pick up location. Problem was, the drop off was an apartment and they didn’t tell me which building. Took way tooo long for even less than 1/2 mile.
You gotta be high to accept it
As not a driver, how much time would this take? This seems like so little even if it would take 15 minutes, that would only be $16/hr, not what i would call high paying.
My guess is a glitch if you were driving away and it didnt adjust for new added miles
No lmao
Yeah all that psyopp “your stats must be so good that you lose money” is bullshit.
Modern slavery is a choice. Be smarter and find something better to do with your time instead of enriching a Chinese billionaire.
It is if you're a child being exploited in a 3rd world underdeveloped country. All things are relative.
Doordash company is now making fun of drivers.
Why would you take it then complain ?💁🏻I don’t start my car for less than $5 and 1.5 miles total.
I didn't
Compared to most orders I see this is high paying
"high paying" threshold is... - anything 5 miles and under counts as double base pay for your area(5 miles, $4+) - anything over 5 miles, anything base pay + $0.50/mi or higher.

I would take this , be done in less than 10 minutes from driving to store to drop off and move on to my next order lol
Is it possible that there is a bigger tip but they aren't showing it? So like, do the run and find out it's $15 or something?
Usually they show a plus to indicate a hidden tip.
They show the first $4 of a tip, they hide the rest. This is $2 base, $2 tip. Pure trash.
$4.00 orders are 99% of the time are paying $4 ..
This isn't a game show.
Are there different routes you can take to cut time? It looks like the delivery is super close, if you have a side road or back road that you can get to the destination in 5 minutes, that’s not actually terrible.
