Damn I never thought about it that way. I always thought about how Goku causes all the events but it's equally as much gokus fault as vegeta. If goku wasn't on earth then raditz never would've came to earth etc

Correct_Refuse4910

Goku causes the event, Vegeta makes it worse.

This is the real answer

I mean, that's even better than what I said tbh.

StaticMania

Cell becoming perfect would've happened without Vegeta... But it would've been too late for them to actually do anything. Same thing for Boo, but less so due to his involvement.

a55_Goblin420

So for a second let's just assume that everything plays out up until the androids. Vegeta gets killed off by the androids. Everything after still plays out the same. Trunks stops Cell because he doesn't fuck around, there's no room for perfect cell. Buu saga. The reason Buu got released is because Vegeta fought Goku at SS2. If Vegeta wasn't there, Goku, Gohan, and Shin would've taken Babidi and Dabura more seriously and Goku would've had no reason to stall/hold back to not shatter someone's pride.

StaticMania

The entire android situation would just play out like the future timeline... Except without Vegeta, there's no Trunks to go back in time. So...Goku stays dead for good, but since this is a story...lets assume everyone else doesn't just automatically die. So they last long enough for...someone to go back in time and things play out the same. There's nothing stopping Cell from becoming perfect once he finds them and wastes Piccolo. In Majin Boo's case, Goku isn't holding back for any reason. So they choose to not fight 1v1...or Dabra being as strong as Cell is a legit point for Gohan struggling instead of being pretty ok.

a55_Goblin420

You only gave Vegeta credit for Cell. And this is a hypothetical scenario of if that shit played out up until Perfect Cell. The fact that Trunks went back in time to warn them already changed so much. If Goku lives they know about the time chamber. And like I said, if Trunks fought Cell first, he wouldn't have become perfect. Okay? And Vegeta and Goku were both discussing jumping in and taking over. If it got too out of hand, Goku would've stepped in and taken over on top of that SS3 to blow Buu and Babidi away before he resurrects. Deadass Buu got as bad as it did because Vegeta allowed himself to be taken over so that he wouldn't hold anything back in a fight against Goku when all Shin needed to do was kill Babidi, he just couldn't get close because of henchmen and when he did it was too late. They both fought for too long at SS2 and generated energy for Buu to awaken. Goku didn't want to hurt his feelings and held back SS3.

Tame_Gregala

No life. In a good way.

awesomeplay5

I mean yeah but you could use this logic for a lot of characters.

QualifiedApathetic

With no Vegeta, Cell doesn't get cells from him or Frieza or King Cold. So already this timeline's Cell is nerfed. He has cells from Goku, Piccolo, maybe Gohan, maybe Krillin and/or Tien since Gero has fewer options. That aside, Trunks doesn't get born. Cell doesn't emerge from his tank until 17 and 18 have been rampaging for a couple decades. I question whether he could have absorbed enough humans to surpass them considering they would have kept on killing humans instead of being shut down by Trunks. With no strong fighters to challenge him, Cell...I don't know what he does, because this version isn't impervious to vacuum. Maybe he tries to get his hands on a spaceship. Buu's ball goes flying off in a random direction if Cell destroys Earth, maybe the sun, and it's anyone's guess whether Babidi would be able to find it. Beerus woke up early and came to Earth specifically to find the Super Saiyan God, but there are no Saiyans anymore. So he's a non-issue.

a55_Goblin420

I didn't say he shouldn't be there, just literally everything that happened doesn't without Vegeta, but yeah basically.

Regulus242

First of all

a55_Goblin420

You're not Vegeta

HTG_11

Toriyama was such a master at writing that almost every character is essential to the story in one or another, even removing the most insignificant characters would have such a large impact - Yamcha for instance, if he didn't exist, then the saibaman may have blown up someone more significant like piccolo or gohan. And then again in the Android saga, if he wasn't the sacrificial lamb then Gero might have pierced someone else's heart.

dastdineroo

Cell would’ve still happened without Vegeta just as fast if not quicker. Since Vegeta isn’t there trunks wouldn’t be there either. So the only Z warriors who could fight Cell would be Piccalo and ~~Goku~~(bedridden) Majin buu would also happen just as quickly if not quicker. Then Zeno inevitably erases the timeline.

a55_Goblin420

Read the last bracket I wrote.

gemitarius

You guys give Vegeta too much credit for the Perfect Cell disaster but Krillin is by far worse because he just decided that simping was worth risking the planet's safety
