So, Brass tax, they are stated by Toriyama to be equal in power, BUT, the Potara offers a "Rival Boost" where if the two beings fusing consider each other to be rivals they get a power boost. So Vegito has a Slight edge over Gogeta in Power. Metamoran has its own advantage, namely that the Fusion dance offers a concrete 30 minutes, even with SS3 Gotenks against Buu, Trunks stated the fusion wore off, not that the SS3 transformation shortened its timer (And I am aware that SS4 Gogeta only lasted 15 minutes, but GT is weird), whereas the Potara can have their timer shortened by an immense power usage, like how SSGSS Vegito didn't have the full hour against Fused Zamasu.
So really the fusion debate is; More power via the Rival boost with a variable timer via Potara, OR less power with a concrete timer.
I hate that they retconned that. It would have had more impact on the fight of there were permanent consequences to the Potara like in Z. They can even undo it later asking Zeno later but they didn't know they could do that before the fight ended.
To me is kind of makes sense that relics made for a divine would have a lesser effect on mortals. But also it doesn’t make sense as Shin and Kibito were able to use the Dragon Balls to split. No matter what canon it’s in, Fusion is a confusing mess, but at least we got Steven Universe out of it.
Unless I'm Mistaken, that's what Forced Spirit Fission was made for. What the Yardrat people lack in raw power, they make up for in the usefulness and mastery of their techniques.

When he shows up while frieza is getting his shit kicked in by Broly, gogeta says I'm a fusion of vegeta and kakarot but our powers arent only added together but also significantly magnified. So would that make up for vegitos rival boost?
Who knows? The Potara Rival Boost is never Quantified, so we don't know how much of a boost it gives, for all we know the Potara Rival Boost is like 10%. As for this "Metamoran Rival Boost" it's the same thing, they don't quantify it at all, so we don't know.
After SS4 Gogeta they said it couldn’t have been more than 15 minutes. In the episode it was like 12 minutes of actual airtime.

Gohan is one of the strongest mortals of any universe ever, coming in third position after Goku and Vegeta in the regular cast, has clear goals in mind which include an academic career (and as an aspiring academician YOU NEED helluva tenacity for that) and caring for his family, has addressed his character flaws and has become much better for it, and is a level headed, dependable leader.
Trunks is basically the only hope of his timeline, and has reached godly levels of strength already. He's already saved his timeline from certain doom 3 times.
Logically speaking the series should end with Trunks and Goten doing the one thing that goku and vegeta never could and that's working together to defeat their foes once they reach their potential
Yeah. Toriyama knows how to make awesome characters in all of the games, shows and anything that has his touch to it. Of course it’s not all him on things like some of the games with the creative design but the characters always hit home.
Sure 18 is a badass, but why "tired" mom? one of hers and 17's traits is their inexhaustible energy and stamina, so the exhausted mom trope wouldn't fit her at all..
