" A **ladder** is a [vertical](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_direction) or inclined set of rungs or [steps](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Step_(footing)) commonly used for climbing or descending. There are two types: rigid ladders that are self-supporting or that may be leaned against a vertical surface such as a [wall](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall), and rollable ladders, such as those made of [rope](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rope) or [aluminium](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium), that may be hung from the top. The vertical members of a rigid ladder are called stringers or rails (US) or stiles (UK). Rigid ladders are usually portable, but some types are permanently fixed to a structure, building, or equipment. They are commonly made of metal, wood, or [fiberglass](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiberglass), but they have been known to be made of tough plastic. "
I remember doing this early quest that required me to go to a mine to clear out some monsters. This pawn I hired tried to lead me to it.
20 minutes of walking later, I notice the pawn walk right past the mines entrance and go up the side of a cliff. I just went along with it because I thought maybe it knew a short cut.
The pawn then jumps off the cliff and dies.
I had a similar thing for what I assume is the same quest, but the Pawn led me to a shortcut for that mine, entering from the ceiling, that just cuts to the very end of it so I had to fight my way out.
Overeager pawn that always trying to get my attention to show the quest path while i was farming mats. I just pickem up and throw them in nearby river.
I had one lead me to a literal dead end, turn around and then just stare at me the pathing of the AI in this game is something else although it's occasionally hilarious.
I just did this quest and am not happy... In melve she started to lead me to where she is (why not mark on map?) so i followed her from melve, all the way right, down the map, then west to the main city, through the main city out the north end, along the entire coast, into the fishing village place... what the actual F is this game? sorry this is is, this is a pure piss take. They could have marked it so i could have ported to the big city and ran here saving 2/3rds the time or more, now i see this system is just purely in to make the game seem longer and bigger than it is period. f joke it is.
"Hmm the jade orb is somewhere criminals spend time" looks at the local fence "I know! The vernworth prison on the other side of the map! This way arisen!"
The one time, and I really mean the one and only time a pawn has properly guided me to a quest.... It was the one npc where I already knew where he was u.u
Dude a guest pawn had info on a quest I was going (summoned them for this purpose) and they took me from melve, to the starting camp ALL the way to the captial. Wtf
the issue is that they dont tell you where they want to get you, it could be in the next town so it would be prefertably to take an ox but instead they run all the way
“It seems I cant guide your to our destination from our current location. ARISEN LOOK A LADDER!!” -Pawn
Look, Gordon, a rope! We can use these to traverse pits!

HELP ME, ARISEN!

Haha wasted your time fuck you Arisen
If I could I would teach my pawn to mess with other players lol

Funny thing is, I thought to my self, “why not?” And did jump. Died and reloaded ahahaha
Clearly being with you was torture!

If you unfollow the quest they'll stop. They only try to lead for whatever quest you currently have set as priority
You can also tell them to come to your side and they stop, for a while at least idk if they try again eventually
Or if you hit GO!
Rook
NAHHH I HAD A PAWN I HIRED TAKE ME THE WORST MOST DANGEROUS ROUTE TO A Objective THAT WAS SO CLOSE
IN MY EXPERIENCE FROM OTHER WORLDS, I REMEMBER THERE BEING A CHEST NEARBY. Refuses to elaborate.
If you press "Go" when they prompt that they should attempt to guide you there.
Ya this was in a tutorial prompt
Especially if it's a mage...No way I can climb that. Casually levitates and opens chest. Tyvm.
They generally don't in my experience
You may have to look at the pawn before pressing the Go button
I did notice that so I've been trying that, but they still just hang around
Give them a few seconds after the dialogue, don’t interrupt it with the Go command Other than that idk, always works for me
Refuses to elaborate.
But they also point to it on top of that.
Wish this sub was just memes like this +1
I think they just rush to the nearest 'waypoint' along the route. Sometimes that involves backtracking, but then they route correctly from there

The finding Ulrika quest my hired pawn took me around the world eight Times for no reasson![img](emote|t5_2smmb|50124)

Yeah same experiance but runing in circles and getting attacked by the same enemies every 10 meters are apprently the fun in this game
"Hmm the jade orb is somewhere criminals spend time" looks at the local fence "I know! The vernworth prison on the other side of the map! This way arisen!"
My favorite is why they tell you they know of something "nearby" then lead you half way across the map through 5 goblins camps and boss to get to it.
I couldn't find the way for the nameless village and one my hired pawn helped me big time.
That dude at the beginning taking you to the capital totally took me on a ring of the camp you meet him at, AI pathing is bananas
Haha this happened to me too.
The one time, and I really mean the one and only time a pawn has properly guided me to a quest.... It was the one npc where I already knew where he was u.u
And then in the city they are like : « Slow down ! You are too fast for me » lol
Thus happened to me today...
What happens to your stuff when they die?
Sent to storage. It's a valid strategy.
Dude a guest pawn had info on a quest I was going (summoned them for this purpose) and they took me from melve, to the starting camp ALL the way to the captial. Wtf
FR 😂 #ConfidentlyWrong

here is the outside of the circle you were in arisen
How do you stop this. Sometimes I can find the location myself. This is irritating
I'd rather a simple wrong direction than certain grisly death which is what any pawn I allowed to do this gleefully led me to
I’m trying to get to Battahl but this little bitchass insists on leading me past every damned drake between there and Vermund.
Something clearly goes wrong with pawn pathfinding the moment they decide to lead you.. anywhere.
