My favorite Meredith scene is from the "nights in morocco" xmas party when Michael makes her the insane scotch+gin+rum+xxx+xxx+xxx+"and two packs of splenda"
NIGHTMARE cocktail and she just downs it and goes "OHHAHAHWOOWWWWWWWW!!! HIT ME AGAIN"
what a champion.
a real shame it would lead to the burning lady/intervention/awkward trip to rehab.
DeAngelo and Michael roll up to her house, looking for her and the front door is cracked open. Then Meredith appears, shoes in hand, from down the street and IMMEDIATELY offers to make them breakfast.
There was so much hidden depth to her character - especially after end when she’s was revealed as she did her PhD - i honestly think there was scope for her to have her own show.
Little miss thing wants attention.
Lol. I love how she has called out literally every character in the series in their presence. Even the lizard king after David Wallace announced his removal. OUCH that's gotta hurt!
She saw herself in Pam that day — a struggling “single” working mother. At the end of the day (literally) Meredith found sympathy for her because she’s been there.
It’s the first day back to school after spring break, and I also had spring break off. About as far from a vacation as you can get. I love my kids but GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE
I love how when Michael and Deangelo bring her a Dundee nomination, she’s legitimately excited about it even though everyone gets nominated, and she even offers to cook them some Vienna sausages.
She said walk of shame. That means she was out and had a sleepover at a new man friend's place. She may have been hungover but not drunk. She was genuinely happy to get a nomination and nice enough to offer them some food for paying her a visit.
Agreed. It’s like when she asks Pam to come drink Cosmos and watch Sex & the City - she’s just a genuinely nice person who wants to hang out and have a good time. I love Meredith!
I know what she said. But how many people do you know who are bright, shiny, and happy while hungover? Her behavior is much more in line with someone who is still drunk from the night before.
> But how many people do you know who are bright, shiny, and happy while hungover? Her behavior is much more in line with someone who is still drunk from the night before.
What do you think most hangs overs are? The number of people who don't realize they're still drunk the next morning is pretty high.
Well, most hangovers are dehydration, plus generally a lack of serotonin and dopamine in the brain.
But yes, a huge number of DUIs happen on the morning of New Year's Day because people don't realize they're still drunk.
Meredith was portrayed as trashy, but she was always honourable and kind to others. Definitely my favourite character. Don't think she ever spoke a bad word about anyone
I believe in the series finale several people talked about how the documentary crew didn't film \*everything\*, and Meredith complained that they never showed her going to school and earning her phd
Which was a little weird. Like I get the point that they were trying to make, but since all we saw was what was filmed in-universe, that meant actually retconning the character - and it definitely feels like it bumps up against other aspects of the character.
That was the joke. The fact that her getting a PhD doesn't seem in line with her character at all was part of the joke about the crew not filming everything. It's so wildly different from how her character is portrayed throughout the show that it comes off absurd.
Think about how reality TV is filmed. That is basically what you were watching. The producers came up with a story that they wanted to push in editing and took out anything that worked against it.
This is basically all media ever. You see what they want you to see. It's easy to spin someone as trashy if you only show their worst moments without context.
> Which was a little weird.
I bet you 20% of the grad students I met, at least, fit this, if you suddenly didn't know they were in school. Bartender across the street? that only works weekends and is always grumpy? yeah he's a ecology masters student. The guy I shovel snow with, that is doing more blow than he is shoveling? Yeah he's a grad student too.
A lot of us non-traditional students, are in fact, quite, non-traditional. If you only filmed me at my last office job, you'd have no idea I was a political activist and physics student.
it works as a silly throwaway joke but accepting it as actual canon is really awkward for the character
finales in general tend to be that way. yea it's part of the official show but for a comedy show im not sure its that pertinent.
In the finale, she complains that the documentary never showed her getting her PhD in Psychology, and then she gives an awesome one liner about her drinking “hey, it was college!”
Meredith Palmer ain’t never been called no narc. Floozy, yes. Alcy , check. Einstein sarcastically, you bet. But never, no narc. Vomit Mop, sure. Floor Meat, that’s me. Flesh Hoover—
I think it was sweet of her to welcome Michael and Dwight to her house and cook vienna sausages. She’s not shy to show people her world despite how messy the world perceives it.
The fact she was doing the walk of shame home to run into her boss and new boss then her only response is owning up to it and offering to make them breakfast tells you a lot.
The coworkers id want
Dwight for protection
Jim for someone to be sane
Michael for the chaos
Toby because hes prob the scranton strangler and i wanna keep an eye on him
A lot of us either think we're a "Jim" or we'd be friends with him, but let's face it, most of us, myself included, if we were "Office" characters, we'd be one of the extras in the pilot episode that were never seen again.
I've worked with a lot of "Jims" and they're usually pretty annoying to deal with TBH. They're cool and sane to the people they're already friends with, but don't expect that treatment if you're a Kevin or an Andy.
Yea Jim's smudgeness really shines through on rewatches. He's constantly talking down to people or trying to egg people on until he gets some push back and then he clams up.
Isn't it kind of weird how the majority of memes on this subreddit are from seasons 6+, when seasons 2-5 are the most critically acclaimed and beloved? Really strange.
i worked with someone who was exactly like meredith and she was funny and always down for a laugh or cheer you up. i'd take another meredith coworker any day!
this is why meredith has always been one of my very favourite characters on the show. She is so lovely, so real, so non judgmental to others. Love this woman 😭
Meredith also chucked rubbish out of her car onto the streets, exposed herself to Michael and was an abysmal mother.
Just some balance to the inevitable love in.
I feel like every time a character gets a post about a good thing they did that goes mini viral on this sub (hitting /r/all) the reaction is always "look how amazing this person is" and always ignores anything negative.
unless it's Pam. Pam just never gets these posts.
The lice episode is definitely the most likable Meredith is in the whole series, but let's not pretend that it makes all her other ridiculous behavior throughout the series any better.
I mean, the only person she actually did any harm to was herself. She was a mess, but Meredith never cheated on anyone, never tried to get a coworker fired or killed...
I wish I cold run into a Meredith. She was so chill. Type of person who you could go out with one day, and say you're not into another day, but she'd still be down to hang out some days after that without taking offense. Meredith, Kevin, and Toby seem like the easiest to get along with. The rest are all so judgmental in some way. Yes, even Jim and Pam. They're super up tight and love making fun of things/people that don't fit their interests. Irl, I'd probably hate them.
Meredith was honestly a real one, she started to not mind the whole lice thing with Pam and just considerate, and we'll, she tries to be a fitting mother, can't hate her for it
I so relate to Pam in that last panel...when you've just had a terrible day and somebody does something nice for you and you can relax for just an hour before going back to your exhausting life.
I think meredith was truly one of the most realist characters through out the series, she had some truly kind moments like the moment above, or in season two when kevin is waiting to hear about his skin cancer, she’s very affectionate with him. There’s so many scenes, that were obviously overlooked by her character set traits like party animal and sex lover 😂
Little did we know, when we first watched the series, that Meredith was the realest of them all.
For real, she wasn’t trying to screw people over she just wanted to be screwed.
Just keep the ribs comin'
Just keep the ribs comin* .... "Amen"
*high five*
*unless there's ribs*
Have you ever had sirloin steak, honey?
Bruucceeee
Meredithhh, sleepin with suppliahhhs
My favorite Meredith scene is from the "nights in morocco" xmas party when Michael makes her the insane scotch+gin+rum+xxx+xxx+xxx+"and two packs of splenda" NIGHTMARE cocktail and she just downs it and goes "OHHAHAHWOOWWWWWWWW!!! HIT ME AGAIN" what a champion. a real shame it would lead to the burning lady/intervention/awkward trip to rehab.
All while getting a masters in children education
PhD in School Psychology*
Why did I read that as chicken education
Chickens are wicked smart. Have you ever seen them play tic-tac-toe? They win every time.
Chaotic good/neutral
Meredithhhh sleepin with suppliers
Meredith the marinator
Idk when he gave me those coupons…
She slept with so many guys she started to look like one
Boom, roasted!
Fr, same.
She was easily the most generous
DeAngelo and Michael roll up to her house, looking for her and the front door is cracked open. Then Meredith appears, shoes in hand, from down the street and IMMEDIATELY offers to make them breakfast.
No, no, no, you gotta stay. I have Vienna Sausages, and napkins. Let me fix you breakfast!
and always offering people to come chill in her Van
And she donated her iPod at the crime aid auction
Hands down.
There was so much hidden depth to her character - especially after end when she’s was revealed as she did her PhD - i honestly think there was scope for her to have her own show.
Like Clooney
> Meredith was the realest of them all. That's the truth
Just don't fall in love with me kid
Also she looks better bald.
she was on her best behavior!
Little miss thing wants attention. Lol. I love how she has called out literally every character in the series in their presence. Even the lizard king after David Wallace announced his removal. OUCH that's gotta hurt!
"Sincerely, Disappointed"? Get off your high horse, Richie.
She saw herself in Pam that day — a struggling “single” working mother. At the end of the day (literally) Meredith found sympathy for her because she’s been there.
I love that Darrel also has that moment when Jim stays home and lies about jury duty, "I've had kids, man. That was no vacation."
It’s the first day back to school after spring break, and I also had spring break off. About as far from a vacation as you can get. I love my kids but GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE
Going somewhere with kids is a trip. Going somewhere without kids (and therefore no responsibility) is a vacation.
Parenting in a different zip code
The other parents in the office understood. Everyone else was an ass about it.
I love how when Michael and Deangelo bring her a Dundee nomination, she’s legitimately excited about it even though everyone gets nominated, and she even offers to cook them some Vienna sausages.
I'm pretty sure the implication was that she was still drunk. It is nice to know that she's a happy and enthusiastic drunk though!
Or she finished off the blo in the morning, like the fuckin pro she is.
> But how many people do you know who are bright, shiny, and happy while hungover? Her behavior is much more in line with someone who is still drunk from the night before. What do you think most hangs overs are? The number of people who don't realize they're still drunk the next morning is pretty high.

I’m not sure why you think “walk of shame” and “not drunk” are mutually exclusive, especially with someone like Meredith.
…Reminds me of Katrina
Meredith was portrayed as trashy, but she was always honourable and kind to others. Definitely my favourite character. Don't think she ever spoke a bad word about anyone
I mean, she has a Ph D in Psychology, so I would expect some empathy!
People say she drank a lot, but hey, she was in college!
That line was absolute chefs kiss!
Dr. Meredith Palmer omg
Wait are you joking or was this in the show somewhere?
I believe in the series finale several people talked about how the documentary crew didn't film \*everything\*, and Meredith complained that they never showed her going to school and earning her phd
Which was a little weird. Like I get the point that they were trying to make, but since all we saw was what was filmed in-universe, that meant actually retconning the character - and it definitely feels like it bumps up against other aspects of the character.

Just like Oscar and the origami.
Anyone could look at Oscar and assume he owns a bone folder.
An apt commentary on how docu-tainment completely makes shit up and forms people into stereotypes.
Ya honestly one of the best jokes in the show because that's really how reality TV shows work.
Think about how reality TV is filmed. That is basically what you were watching. The producers came up with a story that they wanted to push in editing and took out anything that worked against it.
This is basically all media ever. You see what they want you to see. It's easy to spin someone as trashy if you only show their worst moments without context.

In the finale, she complains that the documentary never showed her getting her PhD in Psychology, and then she gives an awesome one liner about her drinking “hey, it was college!”
That’s awesome. I must’ve missed that! Thanks for sharing!
For sure! It was easy to miss and only mentioned once, but kind of awesome in my opinion!
Meredith was the most ride or die character lol
She was also a supportive mother and encouraged her son’s entrepreneurial skills…
Lady walks home from a one night stand and offers her bosses food as soon as she gets home. She’s a gem
Lol and she was the only one excited to have a Dundie brought to her doorstep
I honestly would have stayed and watch her put some food together while she told me how her night went.
D'Angelo "This reminds me of Katrina..." wasn't ready for Meredith.
Easily one of D'Angelo's best lines
Do you always leave your door unlocked? And ajar?
Meredith Palmer ain’t never been called no narc. Floozy, yes. Alcy , check. Einstein sarcastically, you bet. But never, no narc. Vomit Mop, sure. Floor Meat, that’s me. Flesh Hoover—
That’s plenty! That is more than plenty.
Why doesn’t anyone stop her?
My favorite Plop line!
She trashes Pam a few times, (wouldn’t fart on a butterfly) but this makes up for it.
I mean, is that really trashing her? It's just a crude way of saying she's really kind.
Little miss thing needs attention.
.. meredith..
What about "Little miss thing wants attention!"
She said Jim was creepy
She also wanted him to sign her crotch cast when she got out of the hospital. Not sure when she made this creepy comment
She said it so smug, like she thought it was funny
RC: Tall… slim… MP: JIM 🙄
Halloween episode
She’s right.
She calls Andy pencil d*ck
I’M DOING THIS FOR YOU MEREDITH
I didn't want it!
DOES NO ONE APPRECIATE WHAT I'M DOING RIGHT NOW?!
Wasn't that right after he tried to demonstrate how to put a condom on a pencil?
Yes
Absolutely one of my favorite lines from the show. "Give it a rest pencil d*ck!"
What about when she met Holly and said i hate that bitch, i wanna cut her face 😂
I must have forgotten that, jesus
it's from a deleted scene, that's why. it is a part of the superfan episodes
Don’t fall in love with me, kid.
SHUT UP, Angela!
Certain things can be both trashy and kind. For example, flashing your coworkers.
I think it was sweet of her to welcome Michael and Dwight to her house and cook vienna sausages. She’s not shy to show people her world despite how messy the world perceives it.
She once called pam a drama queen...
She called Holly a bitch…but then again so did Kevin
Pam _was_ a drama queen.
Jim really gave her the creeps.
Probably because Jim used a false name to sign her cast, whoever "John Krakinsky" is
She ran into Michael's car.
When Meredith was disappointed in someone, that hit the hardest. If you make even Meredith sad...you dun fucked up
She told Stanley some racist shit. Meredith was trying to trash talk Holly and Stanley reminded her of it.
i loved this part. i also love jenna’s curls.
I prefer Meredith’s hair
Honestly she really does look pretty good with a bald head. *"How do ya like me now!"*
"She got like a Emma Stone thing." - Drunk Darryl
Tmi alert but I find her to be really attractive with the bald look. No idea why
Gross, how could you tell strangers on the internet!!! Scandalous!!!!
Crotch injuries are the worst. You don't need to tell me
Oh my goodness, her hair is killing it in this scene. And yeah meredith is a real one.
i was going to say it’s like peak pam cuteness
Is this from season 23 or something?
I think it’s from season 47
The fact she was doing the walk of shame home to run into her boss and new boss then her only response is owning up to it and offering to make them breakfast tells you a lot.
She was the only person who invited them in . Rest shooed them away.
I feel like Meredith was just happy going to bone town with the bar tender.
Meredith was pretty frequently the person Id most want as a coworker.
The coworkers id want Dwight for protection Jim for someone to be sane Michael for the chaos Toby because hes prob the scranton strangler and i wanna keep an eye on him
A lot of us either think we're a "Jim" or we'd be friends with him, but let's face it, most of us, myself included, if we were "Office" characters, we'd be one of the extras in the pilot episode that were never seen again.

Anyone who says they are a Jim is actually a Drew
Id prob be a kevin if im honest or a gabe
I'm a Stanley and I own it.
No Creed? I am sad
I’d want to hear about all the cults he both lead and followed.
Season 9 gets so much hate but dear god do I love this episode. It’s amazing that it took 9 seasons to get Dwight in a hazmat suit tbh.
He got to purple
Isn't it kind of weird how the majority of memes on this subreddit are from seasons 6+, when seasons 2-5 are the most critically acclaimed and beloved? Really strange.
Girls just wanna have fun!
People hate on season 9 and I’ve definitely got my problems with it but this is one of my favorite episodes of the whole show.
Hated how everyone else judged Meredith for being promiscuous. But Stanley got away with cheating smh
Meredith does not hold grudges. She even forgave Michael for hitting her with his car and Dwight from the bat capture on her head.
Meredith is low-key the best character in the show.
Yes, very cool of her to 'take that freak to bone town'...
On one of my rewatches I realised that Meredith was a pretty decent person compared to other people from the office.
i worked with someone who was exactly like meredith and she was funny and always down for a laugh or cheer you up. i'd take another meredith coworker any day!
this is why meredith has always been one of my very favourite characters on the show. She is so lovely, so real, so non judgmental to others. Love this woman 😭
Meredith also chucked rubbish out of her car onto the streets, exposed herself to Michael and was an abysmal mother. Just some balance to the inevitable love in.
She exposed herself to the whole office on casual Friday!
Meredith where are your panties?
It's casual day!
Dammit Meredith
I feel like every time a character gets a post about a good thing they did that goes mini viral on this sub (hitting /r/all) the reaction is always "look how amazing this person is" and always ignores anything negative. unless it's Pam. Pam just never gets these posts.
Yep.
Hey! Jakey became quite the independent dancer!
That was a ROUGH bald cap.
Yep Meredith is awesome. Hands down one of my fav characters on the show.
The lice episode is definitely the most likable Meredith is in the whole series, but let's not pretend that it makes all her other ridiculous behavior throughout the series any better.
Hey, she never cheats on anyone or sleeps with anyone who is cheating. She always asks every person in the room if they're in a relationship
That's true, plus she's had men fight over her before. Usually it's over which one gets to hold the camcorder.
I mean, the only person she actually did any harm to was herself. She was a mess, but Meredith never cheated on anyone, never tried to get a coworker fired or killed...
The one episode in the show where Pam looks rougher than Meredith lol
Meredith’s honesty and confidence should be adopted by all people. There would be no war if we were all like her.
SHAVE HER HEEEEAD!!!
She was such a bro when she asked for Phylis’s oven mitt in the yankee swap after Michael hurt her feelings over it.
People like Meredith can be the ones to really offer a hand because they get what it’s like to be on the other end
Meredith is the best.
Meredith is a ride or die bad bitch. I'd take her in an apocalypse.
Meredith was always awesome.
Most obvious bald cap ever
Meredith was honestly a real one, she started to not mind the whole lice thing with Pam and just considerate, and we'll, she tries to be a fitting mother, can't hate her for it
ONLY NOW HAVE I NOTICED SHES BASICALLY COSPLAYING AS kRILLIN
Meredith and Kevin. The ultimate ride or dies.
pam could have really used more real interactions with ppl like meredith. she's so privileged and self-absorbed
I so relate to Pam in that last panel...when you've just had a terrible day and somebody does something nice for you and you can relax for just an hour before going back to your exhausting life.
I come home, in the morning light…
This is probably my favorite episode of the office. It's got some great bits and this is just one of them.
Just watched this episode today
This and the episode where she spent the whole time trying to make iim admit he thought Kathy was pretty were so cringe
“You’re buying”
With great power comes great responsibility
I dont doubt it
Ha! Just saw that episode for the first time about 7 minutes ago!
The underrated best employee
I think meredith was truly one of the most realist characters through out the series, she had some truly kind moments like the moment above, or in season two when kevin is waiting to hear about his skin cancer, she’s very affectionate with him. There’s so many scenes, that were obviously overlooked by her character set traits like party animal and sex lover 😂
