People will just have to learn that a picture is like written word. You wouldn’t believe any statement you read on a random website, so the same would hold true for pictures and, at some point, videos.
Happened every time, the required tools became affordable to the masses: Printing press, PhotoShop, email, YouTube, social media…
People had to learn each time that they can’t trust the medium itself because now anyone could print a newspaper, doctor a photo, send spam emails or publish fake news.
We still haven't evolved to identify around photos hop fakes, just that it's too expensive/difficult to utilise frequently so there aren't many fakes floating around.
AI completely changes the paradigm.
My point is that that happened already multiple times and people just had to learn that they can’t trust the *medium*, they have to trust the *source* or verify with other sources.
So yes, we won’t be able to simply believe something happened because there is a picture or video of it. We will always have to ask “where did you get this from” or “is there another mention of this event from another source that we trust”.

Videos are already there, even live ones. The filters you can use are scary good nowadays, and the vast majority of people watching those filtered videos have no idea. You can turn into a whole different person.
