This panel kind of weird if without context
Ngl has a whole i consider dungeon meshi the better manga, everything from beginning to end just works perfectly, but then again its kinda unfair to compare a manga that is still coming out to one that is finished already, perhaps by the end i will like frieren more, probably will depend on how strong the ending is.
Through in the comedy department dungeon meshi will always be the best to me, while i like the comedy in frieren a lot, the poker face most characters seem to have all the time kinda puts it a little down for me.
Frieren's manga also has all flat, same-ish panels, which imo doesn't work well during action scenes. DunMeshi on the other hand utilizes it panelling perfectly, and flows much better when reading the manga.
Plus, I have a personal gripe with the same stoic look in all the Frieren characters. I think that the expressions and flat panelling were somthing that were mostly eliminated in the anime, and hence the splendid adaptation for Frieren.
Agreed. I think Frieren as a series got uplifted in its adaptation purely for the visuals. The manga’s art is by no means bad, but It feels somehow…looser? Less distinctive at the very least, where So much of Dungeon Meshi’s appeal is ingrained in Ryoko Kui’s abilities as a character designer and how well she can draw visual comedy. I think the anime translates this well enough, but it is a pretty large detail vs fluidity tradeoff, where with a Frieren you’re gaining a lot of visual information. Including a ton of undepicted fight scenes.
This will be aired next week and I cannot fking wait!
but maybe it's good to tag spoiler
Next week? I thought S2 started on the 25th.

I don't understand what pants have to do with it
If the legs petrify skin-to-skin that's one less vulnerability. Fabric creates a very dangerous interstitial space.
The underpants leave enough modesty.
More likely the gap they leave isn't large enough to be worth the risk of being petrified in a pants-taking-off pose.
While preserving modesty.
The Laios x Marcielle fantom are frothing at their mouths after seeing this panel
Laois being weird is completely normal.

Don't forget Marcille's Lesson for the day: >!don't use people as pickling stones!<
This chapter was just... \*chefs kiss\*
One of the most epic moments, such a genius in humor.
I reread that one in anticipation for the episode and laughed so hard, can't wait to see it animated
one of thr best bits in the manga lol
me too! i laughed so hard at that panel with stoned Marcille!
