Thatā¦makes me feel not so bad about my SLK350 lol. I thought it was a gas guzzler but even in the city I get at worst 13.5l/100km (but usually closer to 12.5l/100km)
And what about reliability? Is your N43 reliable? :)
And e92 in general?
Asking because I've been reading veeery controversial opinions on that engine...
It's been alright so far. I'm probably due for a timimg chain as I'm nearing 150k km. Injectors, coils are problematic. Although not as much as an N54 due to lower pressures. The timing chain is the worst of it really. They also have issues with the NOx system but a 400ā¬ emulator fixes that. On the whole it's not awful.
Yeah you can definitely do better than me with the same engine, I have a very heavy ~~left~~ right foot and like staying in the 3.5k and above rev range. X drive doesn't help my MPGs either.
If I put it on cruise control at a reasonable speed, I can touch the high 20's, closer to 30
Yeah, can confirm. Tuning it is worth it. I get about the same numbers in that kind of driving. Outside city \~5. In city below 7. Highway... it depends, between 6 and 12.
Also side note, you could have taken the picture when stationary. Using a phone while driving is an ABSOLUTE NO NO.
You might need a tune up. Highway only should be around 28mpg without traffic. Spark plugs, ignition coils, air filter and add MoS2 to your engine oil. You should get a much better mileage. Overall time to replace it all should be 1 hour max.
335i, I get about 310 miles from a tank of gas.
That works out to 19ish per gal.
Life changes completely if I mash the loud pedal though, drops down to 12ish
Literally in the same boat. Just checked Iām getting 13.7 MPG according to my trip computer lmao. (Most of my driving is 85 percent city and 15 percent highway on average).
Thanks. My daily commute is pretty ideal. Basically 35 km each way with the cruise set to 90 km/hr. Plus have replaced all four O2 sensors and an oil cooler/warmer from an N20 which helps warm up the oil faster, and a 3 stage intake manifold.
11 320d ed 60-70 mpg I do 120 mile each way shots up and down motorway once a week for work, easily see 1000 + miles on the range indicator on a full tank. 163hp so can still scoot past anything easily enough
2011 330d xdrive manual (n57) last week with full tank i averaged 12 km/L about half a tank aggressive driving on mountain passes and the rest mixed fast highway driving and city traffic.
I can average around 15+ km/L if i go easy on it (almost never happens lol)
I may not technically be in an e90, but I get around 21.5-22mpg on average in my N52k e82 128i. I commute ~40mi/day on the interstate usually between 75-80mph. Cheers
n52 6mt i get about 14 city 15 highway is that not normal š 200k miles so probably has some old parts impacting it but what should i replace to fix that mpg
29-32mpg in my 335d, 35+ highway
Damn š
Same gang
Show offā¦cries in 12.3 mpg
320i 12 l/100km city driving 9 l/100km out of city
Thatā¦makes me feel not so bad about my SLK350 lol. I thought it was a gas guzzler but even in the city I get at worst 13.5l/100km (but usually closer to 12.5l/100km)
Interesting. I get 9 city and 6-7 outside
And what about reliability? Is your N43 reliable? :) And e92 in general? Asking because I've been reading veeery controversial opinions on that engine...
It's basically as bad as an N53
And I've been reading about N53 very controversial thoughts as well :D So what is your experience?
It's been alright so far. I'm probably due for a timimg chain as I'm nearing 150k km. Injectors, coils are problematic. Although not as much as an N54 due to lower pressures. The timing chain is the worst of it really. They also have issues with the NOx system but a 400ā¬ emulator fixes that. On the whole it's not awful.
I have 9. With longer drives it can go down 7. N46 here.
N46 tooā¦but the city is with heeeavy trafic like at least 20 mins on a single stop light
9-10/100km here as well, mostly town driving with an N46 in my e91. If you believe BMW's trip computer!
That is terrible. Fix your car
N52 engine, \~18mpg average. Low to mid 20's on the highway.
I almost get 30mpg consistently n54 on the highway
i have n55 and n52. n55 gets 27 mixed, n52 struggles to hit 20 overall
Thatās weird, I used to own an e92 with an n52 and I donāt remember it being that low. I know it was terrible in the city though.
It all depends on your right foot.
damn man my n52 gets 28-30mpg on the highway cruise set at 120km sometimes iāve even seen it hit 32 on backroads
Yeah you can definitely do better than me with the same engine, I have a very heavy ~~left~~ right foot and like staying in the 3.5k and above rev range. X drive doesn't help my MPGs either. If I put it on cruise control at a reasonable speed, I can touch the high 20's, closer to 30
Heavy left foot as in wrecking your clutch or something else ?
Hahaha my bad, I meant right foot
At 140km/h I get around 26mpg.
M57, 6.9l/100km
N54 around 10.5l/100km, average speed is like 60 or sum.
Sounds about right. Runs good.
Hmm, I guess that the difference is really small, since our numbers are the same and cars nearly identical :D
Best I got was 21 on highway. 17 in city, 16 with the AC on lol. I use my highlander for my daily but ain't nothing like driving the baemw
You might need a tune up. Highway only should be around 28mpg without traffic. Spark plugs, ignition coils, air filter and add MoS2 to your engine oil. You should get a much better mileage. Overall time to replace it all should be 1 hour max.
320si 12l/100km.
Iām surprised you have it as low as 12 Those engines were notoriously thirsty
335i, I get about 310 miles from a tank of gas. That works out to 19ish per gal. Life changes completely if I mash the loud pedal though, drops down to 12ish
About 16mpg city, 21 highway. (I like to punch it from time to time)
47 - 50 mpg from the little M47.
M47 for the win š£ļøš£ļø
Just enough power to pass on the motorway but not enough to tempt you at a crossroad, perfect for a daily.
M47 is the perfect engine for a 3 sƩries
You mean M57, Prius fuel economy with M3 performance (deleted and tuned)
I wouldn't go that far now.
For a daily? Yes it is
328xi - 28 on the highway 18/17 around town. My new 2 series does 50% better than this
On what engine
N52 in the E90 and B48 in the G20
14 MPG for the most part
I was about to ask and then saw the flairā¦šš
Yeahā¦definitely not the most fuel efficient haha
Literally in the same boat. Just checked Iām getting 13.7 MPG according to my trip computer lmao. (Most of my driving is 85 percent city and 15 percent highway on average).
328i X-drive, last tank was 7.9 l/100, and 736 km. Was showing 8 km remaining. Lol
Wow thats good! My old audi had 1.6l engine and did 7.7l/100 on the backroads
Thanks. My daily commute is pretty ideal. Basically 35 km each way with the cruise set to 90 km/hr. Plus have replaced all four O2 sensors and an oil cooler/warmer from an N20 which helps warm up the oil faster, and a 3 stage intake manifold.
Not nearly that low, but I have a few thousand revs more to play with. š¬
I average 24.5 mpg , ā08 328i. Base.
I get 24 highway and 18 in town in my 335. But I also drive like a granny. Doing spark plugs this weekend so hoping itāll improve a bit
'09 328i N51 average 19.5mpg 70% city 30% highway
N54 puttering around town 16-17l/100km
what š something is wrong with it
Auto, xdrive, dinan2, never gets above 60kph
My 06 straight 6 xi hangs out around 24 mpg. My 16 2.0 twin turbo with electric assist on comfort mode likes the 30 mpg area.
328i with 127k, generally 24 city, 32 hwy, but itās been trending down slightly lately
325i 14l/100 avg. Speed 30kmh
2007 330d. Too many short trips. 32 mpg.
328xi LCI sedan and I get about 10L/100k
318d with I believe a 6,5/100km with a mixed use, like 70/30 for highway use.
318d city for me 8-8.5 mixed 7.5. Highways also 7.5 due to going tad bit higher on rpms
I usually go between 1500-1800rpm with mine
Highways i usually hold 2500-2700 (140-150km/h) Edit.: City traffic wont let me do constant rpms/speeds, its chaotic
For me it's kinda impossible to hold that speed or rpm since I mostly drive when the highway is full, early 6am and 5pm
Oh yeah for sure i do it on weekends :) i know how annoying traffic can be
328i with N52; typically averaging 23 mpg.
E90 328i X Drive. Usually get between 12.4-13 L/100km
N47 with 4.7 combined

I get about 8mpg around town
335D 8.7L/100KM, however it all depends on how you drive, would probably get able to get 6.8/7.4 if i wanted to

E90 m3 full exhaust. 13.8 mpg mixed. 21 hw
320d, 5.8L/100km
28+ US MPG. 08 N54 E90 6-speed
N43 city 14l/100km, highway 9l/100km idk why it's drinking fuel like it makes any power at all
11 320d ed 60-70 mpg I do 120 mile each way shots up and down motorway once a week for work, easily see 1000 + miles on the range indicator on a full tank.

13.4mpg (avg over the last 2.5k-ish miles), 2007 335xi stg 1 MHDā¦ seems very low but itās been going up slowly
335xi, usually 22-23 mpg (70% highway). Recent road trip got up to 26.5 mpg! 120k mi.
7 Liter on my 318i
22-23mpg
I may not technically be in an e90, but I get around 21.5-22mpg on average in my N52k e82 128i. I commute ~40mi/day on the interstate usually between 75-80mph. Cheers
11.2l/100km 330i N52
