Almost anything off of Ascend by Illenium
- Good Things Fall Apart
- Hold On
- That’s Why
- Crashing
- Take You Down
For the love of god, one of the best relationships just ended with me and I cannot bring myself to even remotely listen to this album. I refuse to sit in the sadness this album will bring me. 😢💔
Hoping one day I can reunite with him and truly fix whatever’s left of what we had scattered in fragments. (Fragments reference) He deserves a huge apology. I fucked up. 😣
Stay strong buddy. You know deep down what you should be feeling and don’t drown in the darkness.
I’m telling you this from experience. It’s been longer than 5 years for me and the sides of my hole I’m crawling out of keeps crumbling, never allowing me to get a good grip…
You’re still a good person. We all are, we just make very bad decisions that are very difficult to fix and make right.
may i add angel (lonely prelude) and lonely from his ascend album also hits me in the feels too 😢😢
that whole album is basically my life during my first relationship and it went sour lol
the songs still hits me in the feels tho, it kept on reminding me how stupid i was back then
Saw Seven Lions at Red Rocks a few years ago and Haliene, Illenium, and Said the Sky all took the stage for that song. Pretty hard fuckin moment to beat.
Brave Soul makes me cry every time I hear it without fail. Emma’s vocals are just absolutely beautiful and the story behind lyrics is just incredible. Knowing that she is singing about her brother whom she spent a lot of time with and loved very much, dying of an overdose even makes me emotional. Another thing that breaks my heart is that Emma recently had gotten into a motorcycle accident and nearly died from it. She suffered serious injuries to her brain and vocal cords preventing her from singing. She is getting much better now and is starting to gain her gain her strength back. I hope the best for one of the bravest souls.
I met my girlfriend at Trilogy Vegas where Illenium debuted Brave Soul. He was our favorite EDM artist and we've gone to see him together at least once every year. She passed away from OD last year and now the song fucks me up every time, especially knowing the song was literally written about that. The lyrics describe exactly how I feel all the time.
Oh I have a whole playlist for this lol but maybe most of what makes me cry is just the nostalgia of it.. I’ll post it here in a moment
Edit: [here ya go](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0htXRiAi4RIn9mlszkAj4d?si=tBdy1PeUTMa69pnaWQaGwA&pi=u-aEtfx5qlQNCW)
Feels a bit cliche posting Illenium, but [Worst Day with MAX](https://youtu.be/rDQV94pbbwc?si=zDwNphXXtlemvZbd) really does get me tearing up. I'm a huge romantic sap, so the lyrics get to me. Ugh, the idea of it being used as a relevant song at a wedding *breaks* me.
[Madeon - Heavy With Hoping](https://youtu.be/r5oAIIqbBtc?si=G6cyEg0591GlbKFx) for the same reasons. *"If I belong, if I had a home anywhere, it's in your heartbeat."* 😭♥️
[Avicii - Never Leave Me (feat. Joe Janiak)](https://youtu.be/BanzDujUwF4?si=elu_w-LW8TnEBZM-) (like actually I'm just a huge sap)
Obligatory Porter Robinson track because [Blossom](https://youtu.be/CGsmf_g9kho?si=YB_pXQTpttbZBvXx) is just beautiful, even if it isn't EDM.
[Mallrat & The Chainsmokers - Wish on an Eyelash, Pt. 2](https://youtu.be/3wcvKhceO1I?si=cR2TFimzbmWLoWf0)
Songs I use for emotional release:
1. Man Cub - Sure Thing
2. RAM & Susana - RAMelia (Tribute to Amelia)
3. Sultan + Shepard - Maybe I Was
4. Mt. Eden - Oh That I Had
5. ODESZA & Little Dragon - Light
6. Forester - The Flood
7. Infowler & Miss Lina - Adrift
8. Porter Robinson - Wind Tempos
9. Oh Wonder - Shark (ILLENIUM Remix)
10. Anki - Midnight
ILLENIUM - Take you down
This was the first song I listened from him and it instantly hit me. Plus the video description states he was struggling with addiction so a really powerful piece of music
A slightly newer, not so traditional EDM one — All That Really Matters by Illenium x Teddy Swims. The second Illenium song to make me cry after Take You Down. His songs about mental health really hit hard
Let Go - Seven Lions feat. Fiora

Extra hard for me because it was the track playing as I parked my car for a close childhood friend's funeral in my 20s the first time i heard it.
Sad Tears - [Tipper - Everything Is Everywhere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tI1fgAJnMs)
