I'll have to stay up till 2 am to watch the game tonight... Stupid ass time difference. At least some pubs are staying open late to show it. Prolly cause it's the middle of euros and they already got the big screens set up. Anyways, hope Florida fucking bottles it.
To say I’m not nervous is a huge fucking understatement.
I’ve been with this team since I was 2 years old. (In 2006) even though I was a little kid my dad actually told me yesterday that he remembers when game 7 of the final against Carolina happened I was locked in on the tv and when they lost apparently my dad looked absolutely devastated and little cheaphoneydew who knew a less than a few words said “it ok daddy, they win next time” and he smiled.
Well here we are 18 years later a game 7 against a team with similar colours vs the same team just with different players. I’ve witnessed the decade of darkness, i literally sobbed after the 2017 second round loss. (I still hate Anaheim with a passion) then I enjoyed the playoffs we weren’t in, seeing two cupless teams going at it, one which was a brand new team.
Then in 2019 watching saint Louis make their cup run made me believe we would hopefully be in their position.
Not winning the qualifying round in 2020 just hurt, 2021 being swept was not cool, 2022, being swept again by a cup winning team kind of sucked (I still support Tampa bay as my second team) then again in 2023 by damn Vegas.
But this year man, it was different watching them going from a team that looked like a U18 team could beat to getting a spark of hope after knoblauch came in and then watching the 16 game heater and then our fluctuating rest of season to make it to second in the division.
I honestly never thought we would make playoffs but there we were, watching the LA series felt like dejavu, watching the battle of Canada 2.0 felt like watching the 2022 flames series except if the flames actually gave a shit to try and win, the Dallas series I was at a point of “well if we make the scf I’ll be super happy but if we lose here and have another 3rd round exit I’ll root for Dallas to get it.” The former happened and wow was I excited and ready to watch potentially a back and forth series all the way to 7.
I didn’t expect to watch us potentially lose in an embarrassing fashion to the panthers going down 0-3 but then i remembered “wait a minute look how our season went, if we could do 16 in a row surely we can do 4 and we did it.
Even though in 2006 I was just saying those words of they’ll win next time (of course the team has had many season and playoff wins) but I like to believe that maybe my 2 year old self was onto something and that she meant we’d win next time we were in the scf.
Let’s hope she (I) was right and that we see that cup being handed to the right team. If we do I hope I don’t have any mascara on at that time cause my face will have black streaks running down it from how much I’ll cry from tears of joy.
Let’s go oilers! And play your damn hearts out until the final buzzer
Still doesn't feel real... I gave up on them when they were 0-3 down. Shame on me. Shoulda believed like McJesus said.
Let's go boys. Whatever the result this final game, it's been an amazing ride TEAM OIL
I have a predicament. My partner and I have been pretty religiously sticking to a routine this entire playoffs. We had some friends over to watch during the Canucks series for maybe 1 game but everything else and all of the SCF has been just us, doing our little superstitious build up.
An Avs fan who miiight root for the Oilers wants to join us tomorrow. I don’t want to add him to the mix and steer away from our superstitious routine. Plus the vibes will be different. Buuuut is it bad juju to exclude someone from enjoying hockey? HELP
Bring them in. Get together with people. This is possibly the biggest game in sports since... the Patriots vs Giants maybe? Share it with friends. This is what it's all about.
Other than Game 2, the team that scores first has won every game so far in this series. While this is always true to some extent, I really feel like the first 10 mins of this game will be absolutely critical. If we get one early and quiet the crowd, I really like our chances.
Yeah, I'm with you. Just psychologically, I think if Florida gets scored on early they'll wither away like "here we go again!" Conversely, Oilers keep coming back when they're down at crucial moments this season.
It's a shame the finale of Shoresy aired too close to the final, because ["Opus" by Eric Prydz](https://youtu.be/iRA82xLsb_w?si=8QdLT9ji_r5bNtxU) would be a perfect intro for the game tomorrow.
God damn, please do this! May the hockey gods smiled upon us.
I'm going to cry tears of joy if (when) they pull this off. I've never cried tears of joy for anything but I know i will for this.
Team of destiny!
The pics of Gags with Joey made me almost start sobbing (in the break room, at work no less).
And also just hearing the German and Swedish messages. Especially the German bits because imagine seeing your son halfway across the world in the final series for the most coveted of hockey trophies.
[Panther's Practice](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fDPISIwcX0) -- I know it's likely just 'cause of the poor lighting and audio not capturing much, but damn does this seem tense, esp. comparing it to the video of Oilers game 6 practice, where you see the guys chatting or joking.
i wrote another [song](https://youtu.be/9yMvRDddUls) using [suno](https://suno.com/song/6e622bc9-2e74-494e-9286-85cb22def7c2), please enjoy, and go oilers go!

I fully believe that the Oilers have the advantage going into this game, but not just for what we saw in games 4-6.
All the adversity we’ve faced, going 2-9-1, being in 31st place in November, going 0-3 in the finals, has mentally prepared us for this.
We’ve played in five, soon six, elimination games in these playoffs. And we’ve brought our best in every single one.
Florida - this will be their first one. And watching some of the best teams in the last few years of playoffs (Tampa, Boston) has taught me that teams that face no adversity throughout the year have no idea how to handle it if it comes.
Here’s to the most important Oilers game since ‘06.
This is largely the same florida team that came back from 3-1 and went all the way to the SCF last year. They know how to handle adversity. That being said, I think the oilers have the edge in this one. I don't expect them to get a multi goal lead though. This one is going to be a nail biter
I’ve had a few thoughts and songs in my head.
I’ll start with the songs: La Bamba and living on a prayer of course. But also coming in the air.
For game stuff I’m feeling quite confident in the boys, yes Florida will probably bring their A game but judging by the oilers instagram posts and whatnot the boys look dialled in. Not to say they haven’t since game three but this one they know what’s at stake.
I know they’ve been playing to avoid elimination for the last 3 games but I’m imagining with Dallas and LA they’ve treated every game like a last shot game.
But tomorrow is a repeat of the Vancouver series and if I were playing I would treat this game as if it was, except winning this would mean going on to the next round which is offseason but we get a cool trophy to go with it.
I’m sure they have the exact same thoughts, just play like a normal season game or any other playoff round and win then when they do they’ll be like oh look we get a trophy and some hats and stuff.
Another slight mirror thing that we have is in 2021 who did the canadiens play? A Florida based team but ended up losing to them. We’re also playing a Florida based team and have the chance to do what the Canadiens never did.
We’re also in the same position as the 2011 bruins and 2019 blues so let’s hope we join them as one of the teams to win in 7
Do I have confidence in this team? Yes I do. Am I also nervous? Absolutely but the fate is up to the guys on the team, not us fans.
That being said Let’s go oilers and hopefully bring the cup home back to Canada
It’s funny because in one of Ekholm’s recent interviews, he said he’s talked to guys that have won the cup and said that they’ve told him that once they’ve gotten the cup they feel like, “…that’s it?” so, focusing on the journey getting there is the part to enjoy.
Which sounds like the way the Oilers are looking at it. One more game to get to enjoy the ride and enjoy one another’s company because they truly have become a brotherhood. It’s almost like the cup itself is secondary to getting to see one another succeed. Which is a really cool vibe and they are really playing for one another.
No joke I worry about this all the time, the letdown that comes after reaching the zenith. How the players adapt after reaching the ultimate goal, and what’s left to strive for and excite you after such an intense battle. Even for fans it’s hard, I remember the feeling in 1990 - it’s incredible but it’s fleeting. And it leaves a vacuum. Not trying to be a downer, just mentally preparing myself to know that however the season ends, it is still a bit of a loss and there will still be some grieving.
I think that's why it's been so nice to see this comeback. It's a narrative that's more chewy and expansive than just "won 4 games against another team and won the cup". This is more, "I felt the way I felt at 3-0, then I watched them fight their way back". There's so much more pride there than there would be in just a simple win, which for me means there's gonna be pride either way tomorrow goes. They did something incredible here regardless, and that's the part that will standout, not whether they have the cup or not.
I don’t know if this sounds realistic or not but it sounds like when a boss has their employees work hard and do “team building” and then at the end of the day the boss is like “oh by the way you all get a 10 percent raise”
Does anyone know if the Fan Park has seating or would allow us to bring in a lawn chair? I have a friend with accessibility needs who wants to come along tomorrow but she doesn’t have a wheelchair and will definitely not be able to stand for that long. Would we be able to maybe get the lawn chair in if we explained our situation?
When an elderly relative visited, we rented a wheelchair and bath supports from Aspen Healthcare - looks like they also have walkers for about $30/week.
It's just bandwagon/fair weather fans calling for that. No real Oilers fan wants OT. There hasn't been OT in Game 7 SCF since 1954 and that is one record I don't want these Oilers to touch.
Is nuge ok? Hopefully hes the only one that has the ailment or feeling under the weather. Would suck if something of this nature affects us on the final game.
there was some speculation that the team might have also been affected but just arent showing as bad symptons hopefully fingers cross thats not the case
Tkachuk thinks tomorrow is going to be the loudest rink he's ever been in.
You can hype the game, but you don't have to lie bud.
Edit: I will say if 5-10,000 Oilers fans showed up, that place will be lit. Y'all doing this Edmonton fans?
Dang it was a flight full of Oilers fans I think they took it from oilersnation
https://twitter.com/OilersNation/status/1805015019953750259?t=mEEQMynmsVYoPexB_kiXvg&s=19
In 1990 I watched every minute but was too young for drinking.
In 2006 I was in the hospital.
Now I don’t drink and I can’t get tickets to the watch party. 😭
Hope you have a blast though!
OILERS IN 7
Yeah so was I, just not during that run because I was confined to a hospital bed for a surgery. I had to watch the whole run from a tiny screen and enviously listen to the whyte ave revelry. 😭
Stay safe!
I'm Mr. "It ain't over til it's over", so I really don't like seeing posts and comments planning our parade already, but that being said...
From Game 1 it was pretty clear who was the better **team**. Bob was a brick wall but they were outplayed every step of the way. Now the two best players on the planet are 60 minutes away from their first cup and making history.
Not to mention we have plenty of guys' in Fish's position (assuming you've caught up on Shoresy)
Janmark and Brownie just need to keep up what they've been doing.
If the Oilers manage to seal the deal tomorrow my only sadness with be not seeing Gagner have his name on that Cup. Really unfortunate he couldn't get in on a game this run.
As a Habs fans, I have put on my Oilers jersey all playoff and will wear it again tomorrow with pride.
Win or lose, this playoff run will be remembered BUT please, bring the Cup home to Canada. You all deserve it.
Does anyone know where one could find a Connor Brown jersey for the game tomorrow? I checked the Ice District store today and unfortunately they didn’t have any + were out of blank jerseys to do a custom
Well crap. One more hurdle. The boys are all sick. (Edit: they're probably not all sick) Nuge day off. Mcdavid sounds like a head cold. Ugh.
C'mon lads!!! Beat the odds!!!!
Hey man, they could be rolling around with ebola and I'd still cheer them on. You're right that the only evidence I have to claim that they're all sick is Nuge being out and mcdavids nose partly stuffed.
Perhaps this 2 day break is getting to me.
Not sure what the comparison is there. I'm having lighthearted fun. That's what these forums are for.
I'm going through my own shit storm in life and hockey is my escapism. Not sure why that's an issue.
I thought he sound like that after game 6 too. Hopefully he’s on the tail end if it is something. In any case it would slow him down maybe 2% if anything
I would. This is once in a lifetime; even if the Oilers make it back to the finals it's unlikely they'll ever have a situation where they have a chance to complete a comeback from 3-0 down.
If not for the fact that I already booked tickets to see family in New York (as I'm temporarily living in Toronto rn for grad school), I'd be coming back for game 7 right now on the midnight flight.
Yeah I totally would consider it only if not for the fact that I gotta wait to get paid and my current gas mileage won’t get me there. But I will attend the watch party that’s happening in my town and hoping people will cheer loud and proud
According to the internet
1. The name Draisaitl is of German origin and means "Three strings".
2. A user from Canada says the name Draisaitl means "Meaning".
3. According to a user from Illinois, U.S., the name Draisaitl means "Definition".
Anyone else have an opinion?
In 2006 I was 16, and not able to truly take in the atmosphere of that cup run. I was excited when I turned 18 to be able to partake in the celebrations. Which of course never happened. Now finally theyre back in the SCF, on a historic run... And of course I moved to Grande Prairie at the start of the season. So while it's still exciting here, watching the parties and celebrations in the ice district has made me so incredibly jealous.
Regardless this has been so much fun and I can't wait for tomorrow.
I live in Edmonton but with young kids I just haven’t had the chance to go to the pit and iv been wanting to so badly. But I’m still having fun celebrating with my kids in the house.
The boys will need to be alert tomorrow, you just know the Panthers will resort to playing dirty at some point. With the cup at stake, no manner of unsportsmanlike conduct is out of the question for those rat fucks.
That’s true. The rats will be all physical. They want to devolve the game because they know they can’t beat us right now. Best is to try and injure someone and change the team balance
NHL Network just tweeted that this is the first SCF game 7 since the Blues won in 2019. Could this be another sign about the ties between that rallied-from-last-place team and this one?
As a Blues fan who got to witness the journey in 2019, I am pulling for Edmonton SO HARD because that was the most magical sport experience of my lifetime. The journey was brutal but the payoff was extraordinary, so I truly hope you all can get that payoff too!!
Like Stu said it's been real fun. Enjoy these times soak in the SUN

I really hope Alberta is getting major $$$ from all this lmao. I've moved on from provincial government work but holy I hope this is net positive for the residents.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a Youtube video that hits the high and low points of the season/the building of the current team. It doesn't need to be completely up-to-date, I'm just looking for some more background and to get even more excited for Monday night. Go Oilers!

I can't sleep at all, it's gameday!!!!
i still have 3 days of school left, i just know how bad my sleep schedule has gotten thanks to the playoffs
Just got off work and I've been watching nothing but oiler content lmao I'm so pumped
Yup and of course all the podcast are like hour+ long now I've got lots of video to go over
Still doesn't feel real... I gave up on them when they were 0-3 down. Shame on me. Shoulda believed like McJesus said. Let's go boys. Whatever the result this final game, it's been an amazing ride TEAM OIL

It's gameday baby
Oh baby sportsnets got all of the Oilers cup clinching games on from 9am to 3:30pm
Damn that's some excellent day drinking content
Then another one at 6 pm.
WELCOME TO GAME DAY
I’m watching the 84 cup game on oilers+ when did we switch to the “LETS GO OILERS” chant from “here we go oilers, here we go”
No clue but Let's Go Oilers sounds way better. In fact, I feel like "here we go ___, here we go" isn't used anywhere anymore.

I listened to you cuz you’re right. I’ve brought our Avs friend along for the ride. :)
Send them away
Too late buddy :( he’s a coworker I’ll have to see literally tmw so can’t actually kick him out
LET'S FUCKING GOOO
I'll be happy with any goals we get tomorrow, but I do think the funniest thing that could happen in game 7 is us opening with another shortie.

Mama Stanley has brought a walker that I have seen on TV. There is a place by Kingsway mall that does very affordable day rentals.
that’s a great idea thank you!

Its worth a shot but i saw signs where it said no lawn chairs? I went to Shania and saw bleachers tho.
someone on tiktok compared bouch to the dad from inside out
Bouch looks like Ted mosby from how I met your mother a little bit
Lmao
24hrs to puck drop
Hearing rumblings that half the building in Florida tomorrow is going to be repping the oil
[удалено]
It's just bandwagon/fair weather fans calling for that. No real Oilers fan wants OT. There hasn't been OT in Game 7 SCF since 1954 and that is one record I don't want these Oilers to touch.
OT would be awful. I could not take it.
Yeah, fuck off OT. I want the Oilers to be riding a 3 goal lead going into the 2nd and keep it that way until the final buzzer.
# NO OT FOR US, WE’VE WON THE LAST THREE IN REGULATION SO LETS DO IT AGAIN
#I’M WITH MAN_MACHINE_POET
So nervous and hyped up at the same time, gonna be a long 24 hours from now on
[удалено]
They like hockey down there right? I’m sure a bar would have fans watching.
Is nuge ok? Hopefully hes the only one that has the ailment or feeling under the weather. Would suck if something of this nature affects us on the final game.
Knobber said just a maintenance day, he's playing tomorrow.
Its a chess game. They rested Bob to cause waves lol
there was some speculation that the team might have also been affected but just arent showing as bad symptons hopefully fingers cross thats not the case
Tkachuk thinks tomorrow is going to be the loudest rink he's ever been in. You can hype the game, but you don't have to lie bud. Edit: I will say if 5-10,000 Oilers fans showed up, that place will be lit. Y'all doing this Edmonton fans?
Looks like it. I saw Gregors feed and this!! Excited https://twitter.com/BR_OpenIce/status/1805025220882813143?t=G6OwAvR5uYCCOiXvY_bhRg&s=19
What is it? Wont load. The charter?
Dang it was a flight full of Oilers fans I think they took it from oilersnation https://twitter.com/OilersNation/status/1805015019953750259?t=mEEQMynmsVYoPexB_kiXvg&s=19
Where are people watching the game tomorrow in Chicago?
[удалено]
In 1990 I watched every minute but was too young for drinking. In 2006 I was in the hospital. Now I don’t drink and I can’t get tickets to the watch party. 😭 Hope you have a blast though! OILERS IN 7
[удалено]
Yeah so was I, just not during that run because I was confined to a hospital bed for a surgery. I had to watch the whole run from a tiny screen and enviously listen to the whyte ave revelry. 😭 Stay safe!
I BELIEVE
I BELIEVE
Not to mention we have plenty of guys' in Fish's position (assuming you've caught up on Shoresy) Janmark and Brownie just need to keep up what they've been doing.
Pack their fucking barn , lets go all good vibes baby
If the Oilers manage to seal the deal tomorrow my only sadness with be not seeing Gagner have his name on that Cup. Really unfortunate he couldn't get in on a game this run.
Do you have to play in any game? Is that how it works? So Pickard would get his name there eh?
The backup gets it no matter what because they dress and are on the bench for the game.
Or 41 Regular season games, which Gagner doesn't qualify for either :(
They can ask to add him. I wager he'll have a shot to get the name on there.
I think they would definitely petition to get his name on there.
Do you think 1pm is too late to line up for moss pit?
Some genius should make a killing selling water snacks and sunscreen.
I think that should be good tbh
To the guy I overheard in Starbucks Jasper Gates, do it! Get on a plane and witness history!
As a Habs fans, I have put on my Oilers jersey all playoff and will wear it again tomorrow with pride. Win or lose, this playoff run will be remembered BUT please, bring the Cup home to Canada. You all deserve it.
Remember when Calvin Pickard came in and saved the season against the Nucks? I member
I said I’d buy that man’s jersey if him saving us in that series led to a cup….
Yeah he was crucial in those games
The Edmonton conference centre is a pain to navigate confusing layouts, so many locked entry and exits
Does anyone know if Molson house (inside Ford Hall) will be open for game 7?
they'll be open
Does anyone know where one could find a Connor Brown jersey for the game tomorrow? I checked the Ice District store today and unfortunately they didn’t have any + were out of blank jerseys to do a custom
United Cycle Maybe?
I was at United cycle on Thursday They had Drai, Connor, Gretzky, Coffey, Kane
Hooooowwww muuuccchhhhh looooooooonger?! 😫
Anyone know a good place to get face paint? Considering doing the three colour stripe over my eye like Hunter the Lynx tomorrow night
free face paint at Churchill Square by the art society
Awesome, what time do they give it?
Wem does it on game day too
Well crap. One more hurdle. The boys are all sick. (Edit: they're probably not all sick) Nuge day off. Mcdavid sounds like a head cold. Ugh. C'mon lads!!! Beat the odds!!!!
[удалено]
I'm so nervous. Lol. It's all for nothing if they can't pull it off tomorrow. I'm confident they can, but anything can happen
[удалено]
Hey man, they could be rolling around with ebola and I'd still cheer them on. You're right that the only evidence I have to claim that they're all sick is Nuge being out and mcdavids nose partly stuffed. Perhaps this 2 day break is getting to me.
[удалено]
Not sure what the comparison is there. I'm having lighthearted fun. That's what these forums are for. I'm going through my own shit storm in life and hockey is my escapism. Not sure why that's an issue.
You are right. I am so sorry I was hard on you, that was completely uncalled for. Have an amazing, incredible time tonight and again, big apologies.
It's all good. No offense taken. No big apology needed!
Nah he sounded normal
Where do you hear mcdacid sounding sick?
The interview with him and drai. He's definitely sounding stuffy.
He didn’t sound stuffy to me
I thought that after the Dallas series. But it was just because he was so happy and was yelling. He’s probably been doing that for last 3 games.
I thought he sound like that after game 6 too. Hopefully he’s on the tail end if it is something. In any case it would slow him down maybe 2% if anything
He's been going FUCK YEAH BOYS
Edmonton is a 6 hour drive from me.. I’m almost tempted to drive up just for it
According to the internet 1. The name Draisaitl is of German origin and means "Three strings". 2. A user from Canada says the name Draisaitl means "Meaning". 3. According to a user from Illinois, U.S., the name Draisaitl means "Definition". Anyone else have an opinion?
My opinion is that it mean saucer pass. It’s not an educated opinion tho.
Bought a bouchard away jersey, fly out in 3 hours, 5 hour layover in Vegas. OILERS BY A MILLION
I B E L I E V E
Thank goodness I booked off on Tuesday at the start of the series.
I already let my team at work know that I'm going to be useless on Tuesday, lol
Anyone else in Chicago tomorrow? I’d love to find some Oilers fans to watch the game with
Guesses for the Sportsnet intro song tomorrow?
Who Wants to Live Forever, if they're going full Canada.
Has to be Savin' Me, this intro has become iconic: https://youtu.be/wIgY29Y_uig?si=idk7QLfElql-6iY4
Shakedown Street
Lose yourself Eminem, or savin me Nickelback
Eminem not afraid
Saving me would be incredible but also lose yourself would make me go wild and hype me up too.
The first thing that came to mind was Lose Yourself, but it might be too fast-paced and antagonistic for the intro packages.
Not too high. Not too low. Until we win, then get real high.

not yet.
Tony Brar tweeted: Mark Spector: “Bob Stauffer’s become the most handsome man in your traveling party.” Leon Draisaitl: “Obviously.”
Draisaitl would get all pissy for even be questioned about it in the first place
Dumb question- but do fans still meet teams at the airport when they return?
They do
Do they not get off at a private terminal? And also if they do use the regular terminal I have to go. That would be incredible. Any way to find out?
I might actually join if people are planning on
Tell me how!! Me too. It would mean the world to them I'd be at the fence waving like a nut
holy, its nuge's 13th year anniversary as an Oiler TOMORROW
That’s so cool. Apparently he’s under the weather and missed today’s practice. Sending best vibes and energy and healing everything to Nugey.
Worries me the team could be dealing with some kind of bug...
Ooh, just saw that Knobber said it was just a maintenance day. 🙏🏼
🫶
Yes it very well may be
Like Stu said it's been real fun. Enjoy these times soak in the SUN [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgJ9XPG2JDg&t=329s&ab\_channel=EdmontonOilers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgJ9XPG2JDg&t=329s&ab_channel=EdmontonOilers)
I can’t wait for tomorrow’s nsfw show. 2 Connor’s 1 cup.
Tomorrows game plan: Arrive to Mosspit line by 9/10am. Have a water bottle, few snacks and sunscreen.
The thing that tickles me is at the draft next weekend, Calgary’s GM will have to congratulate us on our win
Go Oilers!
