I pay $1000 for a 3 bed 2 bath with a garage and small yard! Originally paid $925 but it has increased over 2 years. The place isn’t bad, but just a bit old

sharkeylove16

Whhhat wow! 3 bed to bath for 1,000 that’s awesome. New Orleans is 2,000 or more for a 3 bedroom. I wish I could move back to EP

WutUpWutUp1

Yeah same here, it’s $925 with a $25 online fee to pay on the website. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a decent sized yard. Home is just older

Plus_Wrongdoer_4409

Is it in Central?

Shoddy_Blacksmith329

Nooo it’s off Montana and Yarbrough

franksal125

Where? I need this deal lol

Shoddy_Blacksmith329

The townhomes/condos around frisco burger

Legitimate-Piglet803

What are they called?

Key-Affect9622

Also would like to know what they're called

Latter-Examination71

Curious but how did you find it? I'm paying more than that for a two bedroom apartment that is not in the best condition. They raised my rent a lot in the last three years.

Shoddy_Blacksmith329

I found it on the century21 website! I was looking for months for somewhere to live because my place before was roach infested. I think it just happened to be luck! I needed somewhere with a yard for my dog so I focused on searching up duplexes which led to townhomes/condos.

Latter-Examination71

Thanks!

SayJose

I rent a studio in a house in central w water and split elec for about $520 it used to be about $$375 when I first moved but that was like 7 years ago

GroundbreakingAd523

$20 increase roughly every year for the past seven years. That’s honestly not bad.

schxtzi

comments making me realize im being overcharged.

nextkevamob2

Pics would help though, there’s tons of older neighborhood homes that haven’t updated since the sixties for rent, the numbers are arbitrary.

TravelingButt

$1500 for a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house with a small backyard.

GroundbreakingAd523

That’s not bad, the price seems to be good for that size of home

GroundbreakingAd523

I’ve lived in El Paso for most of my life, I remember my first apartment being roughly 750 to 800 with all utilities included. It was on the East side. “Yarbrough n Montwood”. Many years later, I still live in the general area, but I roughly pay 1,000 a month. Two bedroom, one bath, allocated water, and I have to pay the electricity. Roughly 1200 square feet. The place I have lived here for about five years, it has increased about maybe 250, over the course of five years. The overall cost of living in ELP seems to be fair at least on the east side

louisXIVsleg

$1125/mo for a 2-bedroom, 2 bath duplex with a washer and dryer, a yard and 2 parking spaces :)

Plus_Wrongdoer_4409

Is it an apartment complex?

louisXIVsleg

Sorry for the late response! But nope, it’s a duplex in a little neighborhood so I have neighbors directly next to me and that’s it ☺️

rubrent

I was curious to see this question about El Paso prices. I’m living in Denver (suburbs) now and I pay $2430 for two bed/2.5 bath townhome with a one car garage….

ashcrstl

Holy cow

Major-Butterfly-6082

Damn. I may be renting out my 5 year old 3 bed 2 bath home with 2 car garage on the west side and here I thought charging $1700 to cover the mortgage was bad. lol

rubrent

In El Paso at that price you may have to cover utilities…Good luck!…

Major-Butterfly-6082

Yeah it may just be best to sell lol I’m in between. Thanks!!

bludsnlove

i pay $600 for rent but i also pay about $150 for water and gas

ashcrstl

Not bad

Odd_Buy_9664

WHETE

Odd_Buy_9664

Where?!

bludsnlove

near sierra providence!

pharmaCmayb

1 bedroom apartment 1800

ashcrstl

Damn. It must be nice.

pharmaCmayb

It’s overpriced I’d say, for the same amount I was living on the river walk in downtown San Antonio. Almost out of here lol

Vlish36

I pay about $1200 for a one bed apartment, not including utilities on the west side. It would be a tid bit cheaper if I didn't also have two dogs.

ashcrstl

I have a doggo too to consider

Vlish36

I live at The Pointe Apartments. There are apartments that are a tad bit smaller and cheaper. Plus, a little bit cheaper on the pet rent.

ashcrstl

Thanks I'll look into them

NoExtreme7539

$2100 for 3 bed/2 bath house, 2 car garage Cimarron area of west side.

ashcrstl

Damn that place looks cool. Twice as much out of my price range tho lol

alienofmymind

😂 too much my friend. Too much.

RelaxedSun

898 base rent before utilities at album park by yarbrough, single bedroom and they keep raising the rents. they gotta be colluding on these rents right?

naked_as_a_jaybird

$900 + utilities, which averages around $150/month. Evap, not A/C. Central, 2BR/1BA.

TeamTraining5783

I pay 925 plus utilities for a 1 bedroom/ 1 Bath with washer/dryer in unit. I live in downtown.

ashcrstl

That's not too bad either.

vjuice83

$1,620 3bd 2 bath apartment. West side

Purple-Daikon3337

Which ones?

SilverbackApeRetard

I stay in Katy TX, would love EP prices & some Chicos Tacos, $2000 3 bedroom 2 bath double car garage

NoExtreme7539

Don’t be fooled, we moved from Houston last year where we paid $2300 for a 4 bedroom 2 bath house and we now pay $2100 for a 3/2 house here with similar amenities. And groceries are way more expensive here. BUT we don’t have to worry about hurricane season so I guess that’s nice.

SilverbackApeRetard

I guess it's just financially tough every where, groceries can be cheap if you know how to shop between Aldis, Food Club, Fiesta etc...over here in Houston

Major-Butterfly-6082

I always laugh when people say everything is cheap here lol. My groceries were cheaper in Georgia, Florida, and Kansas than they are here.

Think_Point2102

$1600 a month, 3 bed/2bath 2 car garage,newer home with a large landscaped backyard

cupcakes_and_chaos

915, 60 water, free internet for 2 bedroom 1 bath. $100 electric with refrigerated air. Paid 1200 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath plus $80 water, 100 electric, $50 wifi. Both on the Westside and not as bad as other apartments, normal annoyances.

atiraim

I paid $90,000 for a three bedroom, one bathroom, two level house in early 2020. It's 100+ years but was in great shape with a medium sized fenced in yard. I've spent about $20,000 working on it to make it glorious and add a second bathroom. With equity from my last house and savings from my house we paid it off in a few months. It's in Central so not the best, but not too bad.

Simple-Travel4018

Last year I was paying $1300 for a 3 bed and 2 bath unit with a garage and a small backyard. It was close to montecillo so it was an amazing deal.

extra_calories

i paid $600 at vista sol on the west side but it was a horrible experience. i moved to silver city recently.

extra_calories

it was a studio, forgot to mention that

Bbears78

I rent a 3 bedroom garage dirt yard for $1075. It has evaporated cooling. Get refrigerator ac (regular AC) in NO if you can

OfficerandagentMD

Currently renting a 3 bed 2 bath in the northeast for 1350. Been in the house for 4 years and rent has gone up 1 time a year ago from 1250 and is going up in January to 1500. House is older but in great shape

ElRetardoSupreme

$1025 base rent for a 2 bed 1 bath apartment. With pet rent, water, internet and garbage through the property, the total is usually around $1130

Impressive-Screen-83

1700 for a 3/2 brand new home on the east

ashcrstl

That's awesome! Congratulations!

JoelPonce1911

750$ 1 BR walking distance from UTEP

SquiirtleZ

1450 for owning my place in the west side. Utilities not included tho but at least I don’t deal with nasty landlords here in ep. Too many headaches for them to fix a simple fridge and too many issues to even keep renting

gheezer123

350

Danny_flores69

3 bedroom and 2 baths, older home with big back yard, front yard, 5 car drive way and a detached garage for $850 plus utilities.

Plus_Wrongdoer_4409

Woah?!! That's unreal!

ashcrstl

hayeahok

Mc_flurry_m00

Rent is $1,100 for a townhouse style apartment that has 2.5 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. Has two floors

Plus_Wrongdoer_4409

I'm interested in something similar, how much is utilities?

OkTheme9001

It all depends in what part of town. NW, West, Utep area, Central, NE, East, Far East.

wyccad452

$1100. 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath. Attached garage and big backyard. Northeast.

BekaRenee

I’m in a 1600 sqr ft 3 bed, 2 bath house, built in 1998, that has refrigerated air for $1550

this_wasamistake

West side, 2bd/2bth apartment no hookups 1100/mo, water allocated, internet included. Location is great and it’s pretty quiet but just way too expensive.

CrymeariverChairman

Illustrious_Movie_39

I pay 715 for a 2 bed apt. A bit old but its ok for the money. And its in a good area. Im looking at 1000$/ month with bills/internet/phone.

not4daipad

As a young adult who has just purchased a home a year ago in El Paso here is what I can tell you…. Try and buy a new house if you can afford it and get LOTS of concessions from the builder with a FHA you can get them to contribute up to 6% and then only have to pay the downpayment (3.5%). Example on a 250k house that’s only $8.75k. You also get a warranty and some other new home stuff. Also buying right now while interest rates are high means you don’t have to compete with so many other people like during Covid historically low rates. That drove the prices of houses up. If you can afford to buy now do it. You can always refinance later when rates drop. Super tip- but when your income is relatively low, because with seller concessions and govt downpayment assistance grants and programs you can literally move in with almost $0 down. I made the mistake of waiting until I thought I could “afford” a house and I didn’t qualify for any assistance. Which sucks. The bad of buying- prop taxes out here are criminally high. I bought a house for $311k and my monthly mortgage with prop taxes is 2700/month principal is $1800 and roughly $900 goes towards taxes 😢 So for some people if you don’t plan to stay in El Paso- which I recommend unless you’re retiring. Renting is better. It will save you in the long run. Just for me the roughly $9k I pay in taxes is offset by the savings I get for not paying state income tax haha. You just have to look at the entire picture. Because in some situations a $800 apartment makes soo much more sense thank a mortgage 2-3x more

ashcrstl

What are concessions?

not4daipad

Think of them like freebies the seller gives to entice uou to purchase their house/product. Usually they’ll give you a 5k check to buy a fridge or some laundry machines. Sometimes it’s a $10k landscaping credit to fix your yard etc

Affectionate-Ice5766

I paid $1500 in rent in an apartment on the westside. 3 bedroom 2 baths with living room kitchen and dinning room. Also a laundry room.

Zumaakk

$850 for a 2 bed, 1 bath duplex. 1 car garage and private backyard

Technical_Dig_7706

$1,700 in Juarez for a beautiful gated private community with 24/7 security and a nice park in front of my house. Two private parking spaces. It's a two-story home that comes with a small front yard and backyard with a grill it has four rooms and two bathrooms and a home gym. My house is brand new and I'm the first person to rent it. If I was living in El Paso or Santa Teresa this place would cost me an arm and a leg it's also a 5-minute drive from the bridge so I cross over back and forth every day fairly quickly.

Waynesermanid

west side 1 bed 1 bath about $600 (if I'm remembering correctly) but that's because the apartments are older, the newer apartments for 1 bed 1 bath (albeit more sqft.) is about $900

itsthatgirl001

$950 for rent and water and gas. I pay electric separate and it's around $130 a month 😭

itsthatgirl001

Oops forgot to include. It's a 1 bed room and 1 bath

Independent-Damage85

Westside : We pay about $1200 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with laundry room

Evilest_

Enough… But seriously my old place was 657 and increased about $100 over the last couple of years.

GroundbreakingAd523

If it is a one bedroom one bathroom apartment, you’re still paying relatively fair price.

Specialist-War6587

Don't buy for another 5 years. Just rent. Wait it out

Big_Technology3654

People were saying the same thing three years ago. It's never a bad time to buy especially if you're looking long-term. Of course it's not ideal to buy with such a high interest rate but neither of us had a crystal ball so prices could keep going up over the next 5 years.

ashcrstl

That's true too

DiscombobulatedWavy

Honestly people were saying this in 2015 too.

Big_Technology3654

People were saying it in 2010 also at the bottom bottom..... I remember I was trying to figure out how to buy as many houses as I could and Warren Buffett was also. I only managed to buy one lol. Real smart kid I was on Craigslist trying to find investors with the article from Warren Buffett as my pitch. Looking back I should have went to the country club and just rubbed elbows with the right people but hindsight's 20/20.

DiscombobulatedWavy

Yes. I mean the point of what you and are saying is that it always seems like a bad time to buy. But you can’t time the market. Just buy if you’re ready and able to. And that’s about it.

DiscombobulatedWavy

This is terrible advice. People should buy when they’re ready. Can’t time the market.

ashcrstl

I agree with you. My family is pressuring me to buy a house. I've been on my own before but at one point I couldn't afford it anymore so I moved back in with my mom. Now I'm more financially stable. I could probably buy a house if I wanted to put in the work but I'm just ready to move out.

DiscombobulatedWavy

To put this into context, I was living in Austin in 2015 and people told me I was fucking crazy for buying a 4 bed, 2 bath (1500 sq ft) for about 240K. It sucked for the first two years (house poor) and taxes and constant home maintenance will always find a way to screw you, but look at what happened in the time since. Of course I never predicted a global pandemic or an asshat like Joe Rogan moving there would make everyone want to move there but here we are. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you’re ready and feel like you’re financially stable enough to do so, then it’s ok to buy. As I said above, you can’t time the market, and if I had waiting until 2020 (5 years time as the person I’m responding to suggested), then I would’ve been completely cooked. I just offer my anecdotal experience but ymmv.

ashcrstl

Bet

chantel102

I just don’t understand renting, throwing away that kind of money when it could go towards owning a house. Just me I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ashcrstl

Not everyone has that opportunity.

Latter-Examination71

Not all people qualify and the mortgage payment can be way more than rent. Giving a hefty down payment is not practical for a lot of people too.

whoisthedave

$1395 for a 3 bed, 2 bath house off Pebble Hills with a 2 car garage and a decent sized backyard.

drivera1210

The quick math, it's about a $1 per sq ft.

ExcitementUseful7244

1,300 for Duplex 3 Bd 2 full baths. But houses are old now. Built in the 70s. Been looking to buy asap, & our neighbor became a very bitter person over the years so i gtg

VastTomorrow4958

2 bedroom 1 bath apartment $830 base but i pay for pet and other stuff so $905 plus utility so its like $1020 a month

ParappaTheWrapperr

basically nothing 1st apartment - 2 bed room by Yarbrough in a super nice area, perfect neighbors in the literal definition peace, only left because I wanted a bigger place $825 (plus an additional $30-50 for sewage + water) 2nd apartment - 2 bed room in Ysleta in a super shit area, crack heads everywhere, uncivilized place, not even worthy to shit in district of el paso, we could lose that entire portion of the lower valley(area not the people except like 45% of them) and it would make the city a better place. I have never witnessed so much crime in my life than my time living there from car theft to murder, it was a literal GTA server $880 (plus an additional $30-50 for sewage + water) 1st house rental - 3 bed room 2 bath in a super perfect area in Clint super nice house, newer build, and my neighbors are normal, nice community with lots of events throughout the year, I could see myself buying land and building house here if my house buying hunt doesn't show me what I want. I could really not say enough good about Clint, the Clint and Horizon area is without a doubt the best part of El Paso. $950 flat

Cmon_Merc_F1

Horizon is blowing up with construction and traffic though 🫠😳😲 🚨🚗

Key-Affect9622

Can you share what rental company you rent from? I'm looking to rent a house in the horizon area, clint would be fine too

ParappaTheWrapperr

I’m renting directly through the home owner he doesn’t use a company. I can ask him if he has other homes for rent if you’d like

Key-Affect9622

Yes please
