Cinco de Mayo celebrates the victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla - it’s not really celebrated in Mexico (outside of the traditions in that region)
However, it’s a very Americanized holiday - for the purpose of drinking and capitalism. I haven’t seen huge celebration or many events here in the past. A huge Mexican population doesn’t necessarily mean a huge party scene on cinco de mayo.
It's sad how many will think it's 'Mexican independence day' or flat out admit that they don't know.
But they sure as he'll stock up on Coronas and seven bone cuts.
