Never seen anyone using demi humans before. I'm surprised they lasted that long

strikerRT

Demi human is too barbaric, I like to call them the spirit gang

C_umputer

A small tip if you missed, Demi human summons are stronger at night.

Lower_Establishment5

That's new to me :o thank you

Pure_Ad_7385

Had no idea

Loud-Pianist483

The only downside is that they won't follow you around, they'll just wander around the area you spawned them in and kill anything they see, luckily the areas you can spawn them in are super small anyways

RitterAlbrecht

Spirit lads pull up and wreck a lot of things, love my demifriends

allnimblybimbIy

As someone who goes from like… Wolves… Lattena… Mirror Tears every run this has me in stitches

therumham123

Perfumer is underrated

Careless_Ad_4004

Tish always I am betting on Tish….

Swog5Ovor

Tiche is pretty stronk, dodges better than probably any spirit ash, even over mimic with bloodhound step.

bagemann1

the bois

JFZX

#🗣️✋”BOOOOOOIS” *ding ding*

bagemann1

Yes, this

WonderfulWarden

Read that in Jerma’s voice, always makes me laugh

lynxerious

a good god is a dead god

Numerous-Arrival210

If you summon them at night time they get a rage buff

The-Mechanic2091

Fucking right they do, I tackled the weeping peninsula at night just to show em who’s boss

Killing_Laugh

The amount of time my 'shield boiz' have helped me in a boss fight

thedustydresser

I think they should be renamed to the “Uunga Bunga Squad” with the way they’re swinging them clubs.

Local-Priority-1309

You should check a catacomb near one of the Big trees in the south peninsula, you can find an awesome Spirit Ash there, way better than the Demi humans If you Will still use them you should know that if you use them at night time they actually become stronger you can know its working because their eyes Will be red

MizoPeach

What ash?

Local-Priority-1309

Lhutel the headless, she's such a good Spirit Ash, she has a lot of health to tank so much, pretty good damage, close and Range attacks and can even teleport to Dodge hits all this while being very aggressive

myrd13

All this time Luthel is a "she"... huh I guess you learn something new every day

Yellow90Flash

my favourite is oleg but yeah, she is good as well

Impressive_Head_2668

She will carry you to end game

nifemi_o

If you like rolling with gangs you should try the greatshield soldiers when/if you get them. IMO the best group summons in the game because they don't do too much damage and steal your fun, but they're ridiculously tanky and aggressive so they take a long time to die and make a great distraction.

Hanz_Q

Go go goblin army!

stealthmodedirt

Mighty morphin goblin army 🎶🎶

Hanz_Q

Goblins gonna get you Goblin power

renatakiuzumaki

Goblin Attack Squad comes to mind.

EdEvans_HotSandwich

Spirit gang is good. My squad is the greatshield bros. Those guys can take a POUNDING!

Time-Difference-7381

Calm down seluvis

Finchypoo

Skeletal Militia is an excellent early game summon. the enemy AI doesn't know how to hit them to stop them from reviving, so they just keep coming back over and over again.

SaintBenjamino

Heck yeah! I typically keep them the entire run, since they hypothetically have infinite health. Also, the time that it takes them to respawn switches the aggro back over to me, letting me have some proper combat untill they show up and we gank the boss again. Brings a fantastic rhythm to the fights

Can_O_Murica

Level 10 demi humans are a lot of fun. Super chaotic

stathow

there are probably one of the most used early game summons, though if you need them, most would wait for night when they get buffed

emelem66

They are awesome, especially at night.

Exciting-Possible773

I think the fight will be easier if you fight at night.

Dangerous_Rip1699

Bump ‘em to +9. They bring the big goons in the pack.

Noble1296

For early game, I love using the demi humans. For me, their damage output and survivability is just good enough up until you get Lhutel

aNascentOptimist

That’s my main summon!

badaboomxx

I use them depending on the boss. Found that sometimes the boss is focused on me, and they can chip damage. Other times I use the wolves for the same reason.

therumham123

Rats are surprisingly good

Zeus_fan33

They are better at night

DarthGoss

Loved watching this, reminded me of my first play through … good job man, you’ll only get better and better from here !

axeax

Not in my case; I either kept constant or got worse and worse

GotDaOs

you don’t realise it, but start a NG, you’ll play much better than your first playthrough once you mend the elden ring once, you realise it wasn’t your tarnished who levelled up on the journey, it was you

lolkoala67

I can’t beat the fucking Elden beast

SokkieJr

Had this same struggle. I was a str/faith build. Just respecced to pure strength and beat him with oure ohysical weapons

axeax

This. I was stuck for 1.5 years, then some days ago I decided to try the only remaining option: pure strength with brick hammer, and it worked. I couldn't believe it. But it was also thanks to mimic tear tanking all the golden attacks for me (still, with magic, they would have all reached me instead)

DromadTrader

Hahaha I remember the first time I beat the first dungeon and Margit it felt so hard. I thought for sure that most have been a huge chunk of the game (lol). This month I suddenly decided to do a second ER playthrough without Ashes after beating DS1 and Margit was sooo easy. PD: the great thing about having a bad memory is that it all feels so fresh and awestriking again :)

therumham123

Margit is just a really quality boss fight. His true form later in the game is also great one of my favorite fights of all time

Glad_Raisin3130

(Chuckles nervously) Next purchase Margits shackle

Ezrahadon

I'm still bad at the game after a run, but it surprised me how less I strugled with him. Refused to summon any spirits or Rogier too this time (not NG+ run either). Seeing how much I still improved since the first run did make me feel a lot better about it though. I have ascended and finally understand the 'git gud'

ObungusOverlord

I would give my life’s savings to have elden ring wiped from my memory so I could play for the first time again, what a masterpiece

Valhalla_Atcha_Boi

Came to read all the hate comments, left pleasantly surprised.

ominous_raspberry

Ah thy flame is not so meager after all

strikerRT

It died years ago, but now it has lit again

LEG0_Crusader

Someone must extinguish thy flame

Internal-Ordinary-70

Let it be Margitt the Fell

ezio1452

The dialogue goes SO HARD

KeenEyeVP_

THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT, PEOPLE! Learning and trying different things! Sticking to it and never giving up! Well done, mate 😃 👍🏻 You'll be the Elden Lord before you know it!

vortex30-the-2nd

Took me 22 hours to beat Margit (I did side-track myself to the South first to get better + level a bit because Margit was destroying me at first, plus I had no idea how to use Spirit Summons or the other NPC summons like Rogier, I try not to over-use my spirits though, usually try a boss at least a few times without and for many I am fine without them, nowadays lol, but if I start to hit a wall I don't mind using them at all to take agro off me). 35-40 hours later I'm done Godrick, Rennala, Ranni's whole quest-line including Radahn of course but the other crazy weird dragon fly kinda boss made of glass orbs? lol (Astel or something? found it way harder than Radahn) I've cleared all of South Limgrave, most of Caelid, most of Liurnia, basically ready to move on to Altus Plateau which I have been too already but got side-tracked with Ranni's quest and Nokron and Nokstella and the Moonlight Plateau or whatever it is called. Also I got to Altus Plateau the harder way by beating that Wyrm guy. Crazy how crazy hard and slow my first 20 hours were but my next 40 achieved so much and just can't put the game down now! When I say "cleared" or "mostly cleared" an area, I just mean exploring all of the interesting things that are visible on the map itself, I haven't found secret areas nor have I scoured literally everything of course not. I don't follow any guides except for Ranni's questline I followed some basic instructions because I really wanted to finish it and get to that Moonlight Plateau place because after I beat Goderick I spent like an hour trying to find a way up there lol. And I have watched a few videos that have helped explain to me like how to use spirit summons and how to apply ashes of war. Oh and it took me like 25 hours (so, after Margit) to realize I can have more than 3 health flasks + 1 FP flask, I didn't realize you could add more + upgrade them LOL, so when I saw someone in a video with like 8 health flasks I had to figure that out and I went from 3 + 1 with no upgrades to 6 + 2 with I think a +3 or +4 because I had been exploring so much I had tons of the seeds and such saved up lol. I just got Goderick's Rune activated last night also like 35 hours after getting it, had no idea what Rune Arcs were for nor the great runes... I have like 25 Rune Arcs saved up so that'll come in handy now as well. Such an incredible game. First Souls-like / FromSoft game for me so this stuff is all mostly new / unknown to me. I can't believe I've had this game for nearly 2 years now in my back-log just sitting there whilst I played such trash in comparison instead. My friend kept telling me to play and to push through the difficulty and I was like ya, ya, later, not in the mood for extreme challenge right now... And I seriously was close to rage-quitting at Margit, but the beautiful world and incredible exploration + seeking out better gear and runes/level upgrades and fighting some really fun lesser bosses that were tough but do-able kept me going and I'm so glad I didn't rage-quit. Now I'm almost further in the game than my buddy, lol.

Tony_Lacorona

This was my exact experience. I had a friend help me through Stormveil, and now I realize to hit first, run later when dealing with unknown enemies. Ever since then, I’ve been breezing through, and doing my minimal grinding to keep things going.

WonderfulChapter4421

I’m like 60% sure you have moonviel and rivers of blood in your future

Dr-yeetmas

this is moonveil and rivers build in infancy

vvavez

this made me laugh harder than it should have lmfao

v4nillaX

katana very bad, str very good

naruto_bist

i get about RoB because of exceptional bleed. But what's so good about moonveil? idk since I've never played with that sword.

Lyzern

I have it on my first mage character. Iirc it has amazing stats for int users and its special is devastating

WatermelonWithAFlute

op intelligence sword, is weaker than it used to be but from what i know it's still strong. Also is strong in pvp.

Micah_Bell_is_dead

It's ash of war I believe

karljh

Surprisingly not the most OP weapons anymore. They got hit hard by nerfs lol

Fuckerofgnomes

Mf rly said go go power rangers

std_colector

the speed rolling away is so real

hfscfc

One of the most difficult bosses tbh. As a first timer you are never prepared for this battle and it will take many so tries before you give up and free roam to level up or actually win it. I enjoyed watching this.

HaskellHystericMonad

Margit has attack holding, and at this point in the game, holding attacks is really fucking cruel for anybody new. Fortunately even the asshole bosses like Red Wolf of Radagon aren't such pricks with variable length holds. It's not Dark Souls 3 bad with Iudex having multiple holds, as the bloody first boss, but it's pretty close. Honestly, attack holding is just bullshit cruelty to force more than one attempt at a boss.

-Aizen_Sosuke

>Red Wolf of Radagon aren't such pricks with variable length holds. That mutt has magic AND melee attacks that work at the same time. It does not need delayed attacks to make us suffer.

Jizzmasmiracle

maybe I misrember it, but the attack holds werent as bad in DS3 were they? And even if there were some in my memory they were telegraphed more clearly which made dodging easier. But maybe Im wrong. Elden Rings hold attacks are just everywhere and even as someone who played all the popular fromsoft games I struggled a lot with those in particular

Holyburd

Compared to Margit Iudex is cakewalk and barely has any mixups on attack patterns

Fai93

I was so determined to defeat him when my husband sent me there at lvl 12 Hero class. I had a +1 weapon and killed him in 20? tries. Maaaan I was soooo pleased but it wasn't a clean fight LMAO. I baited his jump attack most times since was easiest to punish. But hey I did it with no summons at lvl 12 as first time ER player (I'm DS player though)

Cool-Adjacent

The game isnt unfair, use what you need to beat it, they are there for a reason. But the game is not unfair at all

DiamondSentinel

Yeah. Huge proponent of “if it’s in the game it’s fair game”. But the game isn’t unfair, at least definitely not at this point. There are only a couple bosses I say are even hedging on “unfair”, and Morgott definitely isn’t one. Probably mainly Melania, Fire Giant, and both final boss phases, and even then, I wouldn’t say unfair so much as “not terribly engaging designs, just frustrating” (or just that 80% resistance is too much for mainline bosses).

Rabidpikachuuu

First off, Just getting started.

Mindctrlr

GJ! Keep the good work going!

TheHolyPapaum

Good jame indeed

Delicious_Arm3188

A win is a win. Also you bought the game so play it however you’d like. It might be worth looking up how builds work. Not because you should follow them, but because bad stat allocation is the number 1 cause of weak players. This game rewards specialization and gimps jacks of all.

strikerRT

Yeah Every stat I have in the game is in 13-15 or something (except faith, which is 7)

I-Stratos-I

Yeah that's a "mistake" many new players make. You don't spread out your lvls (normally ofc, play like you want). It's best to focus on vitality and endurance + either dex/str/int/faith depending on your weapon/spell of choice. You can respec your stats multiple times already fairly early into the game so try to experiment and find a playstile you enjoy. The problem with spreading out lvls is that you can only profit from a few at a time while the rest doesn't contribute to anything.

Delicious_Arm3188

Unless your spell casting you want most of your weapon damage to come from upgrading the weapon instead of leveling up your damage stats. Leveling up your weapon also increases your ash of war damage. That way your free spend your level on more health, mana, and endurance for better armor. Edit: cheers on your win BTW

OppaaHajima

I wouldn’t say you took the cowards way, but I take issue with the notion that the game is unfair. This game is one of the fairest you’ll ever play. It provides plenty of legitimate mechanics and techniques to beat pretty much everything in a multitude of different ways. Summons are one of those mechanics, but everything is also doable 100% solo with enough practice.

FullMetalKaiju

there definitely are things that feel unfair, lots of tracking attacks, Chris Kyle Lobsters, Waterfowel, but Margit doesn't fit unfair imo. When I first tried to do him I got smacked because I followed the grace and went there almost instantly. But he wasnt so bad once I was level 35 or so

Tiny_Tim1956

That's the intended experience for new players. He even says "put these foolish ambitions to rest" while he literally gatekeeps. The grace shows you the path and the game tells you "no". You can try to learn him then and there if you want a very hard (completely fair) fight, but really the intended experience seems to be to do all of limgrave and weeping peninsula first.

Fuckerofgnomes

Enter erdtree burial watchdog duo:

OppaaHajima

I just took those guys down solo three-shotting each of them with my fist weapon build. But pure int was harder, of course. But that’s another great thing about this game: there’s no single ‘best’ build. Every benefit has its tradeoff, so each run is a new challenge.

Fuckerofgnomes

My weapon (don’t remember it exactly) was slow and undelivered so I just Brute forced it lol

dudeondacouch

Throw crystal darts at them, and they’ll malfunction and attack each other. There’s ALWAYS a way.

Fuckerofgnomes

I knew lol, i just wanted to unga, so therefore I bunga.

OkAccountant7442

nothing about this boss is unfair. not trying to be a dick here but you didn‘t learn any of his attacks. every time he did an attack you just spam rolled backwards which is basically the exact opposite of what you should do

turtlebear787

We're you trying to make it hard for yourself? Like why your vigor so low? Have you not explored anywhere?

Stary_Vesemir

New players moment

MysteryCredit

i think the most worrisome is he using the reduvia and sorcery

Zealousideal-Fee8423

Yeah this guy has a super weird build

VegetaFan1337

He's levelled all stats to 13-15

RedRoses711

Took 4 days and yall had to jump him ma boy margit tough

Big_Noodle1103

I'm not trying to invalidate your victory, a win is a win. But it's hard to take you saying the game is "unfair" seriously while watching you do nothing but panic roll and not manage your fp/stamina bars at all. Play however you want but imo you should really learn how to properly dodge and position yourself. Even if you fully intend to play "unfairly" as you describe it, some bosses will require you to learn one way or another.

RitterAlbrecht

Sorry, you used summons, victory invalid /s It's funny, I always get Margie's shackle every playthrough, but I've used it solely to turn off traps (fire columns) for so long that I forgot it has a use in this fight.

strikerRT

I mean, this is a core aspect of the game. Some people aren't as good as people who played the dark souls series

RitterAlbrecht

/s means I'm not being serious, don't worry lol

strikerRT

Thank you for the information

lynxerious

Rodgier is so useless, you might as well not use him and nothing changes Nepheli on the other hand, feel like she can solo Godrick

jl_theprofessor

She can at least go halfway I think. She carried me hard my first playthrough (had never played a Fromsoft game before). I did find a no-summons playthrough more rewarding but only in the context of the fact that I'd learned the basics of this style of game thanks to the first playthrough.

Zealousideal-Bit-892

…you. can use that on. fire blasters?

Lopoetve

It can turn off traps??

heavisidepiece

Yes, it can also clear illusory walls

--Dolorem--

I dont think the game is unfair, you just didn't git gud

Ahoonternusthoont

Bro Brought an entire army to beat him up 😂. Good Job tho 👍🏻

OsamaSukhon

Learn how to roll on time instead of panic rolling

Educational-Work6263

The game is certainly not unfair with Margit. Don't bullshit yourself.

MrEmorse

4 days to beat Margit with a summon and spirit ashes and a shackle?? My friend..... I mean this in the most respectful way! You are in for a looooong ride! Enjoy it!

kollib

Good job, now pump vigor up to about 30 before anything else

nikolaa_z

Bro summoned my entire bloodline for the first boss💀

ZLBuddha

Congrats on your first boss, but you're going to have to learn enemy movesets going forward or you're not going to get very far. Bosses only have a certain amount of attacks, and every time they do a specific attack it hits the exact same way at the exact same speed. You're gonna have to get good at reacting or predicting attack timings if you don't want to spend four days on every boss.

jo0cyfr0ot

The game isn’t unfair.

RagingSteel

I don't agree with the amount of praise you're getting, like good for you for beating the boss, but actually watching the footage you spent 4 days and learned none of his moves. Most of the time when he even looks at you you spam roll away, and the attacks he did target you with you didn't dodge any, you'd face tank one and then spam roll away. If you're not willing to learn boss move sets you're not gonna get anywhere in this game dude, especially when you reach bosses who are immune to Bleed which your Reduvia relies on. Learn fights instead of just saying they're unfair, bc 90% of fights in this game are fair aside from a few Duo Bosses, and it's why as a community we love this game so much.

Lupowan

Your damage is absolutely abysmal you should fix your stats asap

Prevay

Sire i commend your victory, but margit being 'unfair' is like the least unfair thing in the game lmao

Financial-Aspect-826

Good job but i don't wanna lie, it was atrocious to watch lmao

Loud-Concentrate5585

Bro take the “cowards way” who cares you are free to play the game in anyway you like, but to call the game “unfair” and then thats your reasoning for using “cowards way” is actually pretty cowardly, you know? There are people who beat Margit with a naked level 10 wretch, so It’s obviously fair

ASPDarksRider

The one thing this game is not is unfair. It is hard, but it is fair.

[deleted]

The game’s not unfair. The DS series is all about git gud 😂. Just have to practice

NarvPlusExtra1

You wouldn't have to resort to summons if you actually did any damage lol. You gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers in this racket.

NarvPlusExtra1

I love how it took him 4 days to cheese Margit, like what? 4 days and you didn't even fight the dude, what were you doing the whole time?

eLCeenor

Solid stuff! Quick tip: you splitting between magic (glintstone pebble) and bleed (reduvia) is extremely suboptimal. If you want to stick with magic, level Vigor and Intelligence with a side of Mind + Endurance. If you want to stick with bleed, level Vigor and Arcane with a side of Dexterity + Endurance. By this I mean - put at least 2 points in the main stats for every 1 you put in the side stats. Splitting between magic and bleed will just ensure that you're doing everything extremely suboptimally.

MsMinte

The main problem is that it seems all of his stuff is unupgraded. At low level upgrades do far more work than stat scaling (however yes if he keeps on going by investing in every stat except faith, by his own admission, he's going to struggle hard).

Easy-Guava6658

🤣 win is a win. I cheesed him with the deathbird sword. What summon is that?

strikerRT

Demi human ashes

Lawfulness420

What is your level?

dreotti

4 days to win a 7v1 is crazy

DRAGUNNYUOOOH

All of this just to kill Margit is INSANE what has bro been doing 😭😭😭

strikerRT

Grinding

Film_LaBrava

Grinding what, your teeth?

SwimmingHurry8503

The rapid rolling is making me want to kill Kale. AHHHHHHH

AndForeverNow

We defeated the first boss /s

Magic-potato-man

Erm /s🤓

Aggravating_Pop_2986

We await your Malenia battle with great interest

LeninCakeTV

Bro pulled up on Margit with the whole damn Scooby gang. Gj bro

s_p_t_x

ill avenge you by one shotting margit

ziggadala

You need summons to beat this easy boss?

Impressive-Safe-1084

You defeated… or did the booooois

Stilldre_gaming

Toxic positivity gang is working overtime in the comments

FormerPerformance457

Shambles ahh build 😂 staff + reduvia is wild to me

Ashamed_Cranberry_83

“We have rahdon festival at home”

Ravenouscandycane

That was some elden lord shit bro well done You should head to the southern part of the map to castle morne before you proceed past this dude

Uncaas59

why a 1vs1 is unfair?

sentfrom8

I'm not sure if I saw this right, at 2:06 did the glintstone pebble and margits knife collide and cancel each other out? It's insane if that can happen

sentfrom8

Nvm just watched it again, the knife breaks a spear on the ground, the pebble still hits. Would be cool though

JoshLmoa

Haha, I thought the exact same thing and was like "of all my time playing and watching videos, I have never heard of this, there's no way" so I instantly rewatched to see what happened.

Rand0mBoyo

You've got several ways of playing to choose from for a reason. Some might say it's less respectable and stuff, but it's your playthrough, not their

Della__

Well done tarnished, thou are of passable skill

FadiTheChadi

Elden ring is probably the most fair game on earth lol

young_pickle96

The games not unfair, just gotta watch, learn, be patient and git gud. Margit is prolly one of the most fair bosses in the game. Also you're panic rolling quite a bit, wait just before the strike then roll, But hey you're learning, a wins a win good job.

Charming_Ad_794

you should have gotten more sumons

IsThisASnakeInMyBoot

The game is fair if you're not trying to bum rush the bosses without upgrading weapons and levelling up lmao

chuuhaan

Lets freakin go my dude!

Waste-Instruction287

Just keep it going bro, once you finish the game you can always restart and play in different ways! I did like 6-7 runs with different builds…

Conquestriclaus

you will soon realise that the game is actually very fair.

Oledian

Bro just CANCELLED that 2nd holy bolt with his glintstone pebble! I've NEVER seen that before.

DJ_Church

Did you guys know spells could collide like that knife did at the beginning of the video?

talking-2-me

Who gave you the helmet? Cause there are two places to get that helmet. And there's no way you survived Ohio without upgrades. Speaking of which, I recommend going and getting smithing stones to upgrade your weapons. Makes fights like this a lot easier. That being said, good job. First hurdle conquered.

Dallay

You should try the LT/L2 with just Reduvia. It has one of the best abilities in the game

Chochahair

Dawg, if u struggled with first boss, good luck with rest of game 😂

Curd_Shilling

magic or reduvia but not both...Bleed is better in imo.

suchayeparagon

Chad bleed weapon/spirit summon user

DeGozaruNyan

Well, I'd say thou are of passing skill.

strudelp

Thou art of passing skill, sir! Anyway, I would advise you to try slot your health and mana potions into the pouch instead of the equipment wheel, I see you struggle a little trying to rotate all the stuff you have in there. Go into in-game menu and on the right side there is your pouch.

AKUMA_GIN

Apes, together, strong.

3n3rgy2

Reduvia was mind blowing the first time I used it. Halfway thru the game, there is going to be a katana version you may be pleased to discover! Good stuff, you will become Elden Lord in no time!

9999eachhit

Hey! congratulations! well done! :)

mrhypnobear14

After 4 days, we* defeated the first boss

RelativeMundane9045

Little tip to make life easier, hold the down button and it will go back to item #1 so you don't have to search for them healing flasks.

KXrocketman

the panic rolling is real with this one lol Reminded me of my first playthrough of souls games..

DaSwirlyPoo32

How after 4 days have you not learnt the timing of a single attack? The whole time you are just spam rolling

Artistic-While-5094

I am very sure you’ll be happy if I tell you that I now realized I’m not that bad at this game.

UnXpectedPrequelMeme

What level are you? Your hits are doing close to nothing

optyp

Not you, some "Rogier" did

Embarrassed-Friend43

Hold tf up, you can block his knives with another missile type spell?!

Sebboschreck

The boys

BLM4442

You’re not doing much damage, have you upgraded your weapons at all?

Past-Link-2088

Fight as if your life depends on it, because the bosses sure do. Congrats on winning the first skill check!

life_badoo

This is how you have fun in the game, great job

Human-Ad-7709

My brother in Christ you're allowed to level up

Ser_Mouse

Kaiden armour bros

Lucid-Design

How do you have Reduvia already? I thought that was a later game weapon? I don’t really remember where you get it

the-barbarian998

It took me 4 days too i did it about half an hour ago, this stuff gets fluid when you get the hand of it

Mr-Powder

Great job! Way to go. I play on pc, and if you ever need a hand toss me a message.
