I’m not fully clear(I don’t think anyone is, really) on how much was her being forced by the greater will, and how opposed to it she really was. It seems she rebelled against the elden beast/greater will by the events of the game, but how much was because she couldn’t abide by its darker actions and how much was just because she didn’t want to be controlled by it? Either way, we get plenty of evidence of her being a pretty bad parent. Mohg is…Mohg. When someone’s even in the running for worst person alive in a dark fantasy setting, I think not wanting that someone to be your parent is pretty self explanatory…

1. Rennala- She seems to have been a good mom judging by how Raanni cares for her even after she's gone senile. Radahn turned out to be a great man, and Rykard seems to have been a case of ambition run amok. 2. Malenia- I get the feeling she was a bit of an absentee mom, but not because she wanted to. I think she was unconscious when she gave birth to her kids? Either way, assuming that she was capable of being there, she seems like a good person given the causes she puts her blade to and I'd like to think that might extend to her parenting. 3.Marika- The reason I've focused on whether or not the people on this list would be *good* moms rather than other things begins here. Marika was a pretty awful person and the odds that I end up on the wrong side of one of her plots and cursed for life or doomed to die a horrible death are too fucking high. I don't think she was an intentional danger to her kids, but her plans often led to those children being hurt really badly. 4. Tanith- I don't know about you but if the only reason I was born was so my mom could fulfill some fucked up ultra evil heresy secret plot, I'd like to know and the fact that she's willing to have total strangers drug her kids so that she can gaslight gatekeep girlboss them more effectively isn't helping. Maybe just tell me that my birth was an act of sin against life, yeah? 5. Mohg- I am not interested in being raised by a pedophile.
