Dude I get it. When I finally came back after leveling my tree more and getting new spells he was easy. I loved how hard he was for a dragon fight myself. That and his mangled body looks cool as hell.
Just beat him myself on 16th attempt, Blessing level 7.
Think it's my favourite Elden Ring boss full stop. Intensity continually ramping up and everything getting chaotic, Igon screaming in the background while desperately scrambling for enough space to get a flask off. Fantastic.

Oh he was my favorite for sure. Reminded me of a way of Gale from DS3, it was punishing but you knew if you times it right you'd kick his ass.
