Yup. Money is funny in this game. I literally got interdicted as a noob by a random squadron... thought I was gonna die, then they came and shared several hundred million credit worth of quests with me.
I flew off to the nearest shipyard to out fit myself an Anaconda, then my daughter promptly crashed it into a planet an hour later.
Not just money, the ED community is a strange creature, I got picked up by a group of the loveliest bastards in the game, now we go do piracy missions and screw with the Fed's.

I did, but it made me super paranoid with landing on a world.
The only funny outcome was right before I died, I end up earning several hundred credit of bounties from crushing some combatants that was raiding the said facility on foot.
Then of course the Insurance man took that :(
I joined my squadron because a fashionable fellow with nice sunglasses and a glorious beard said I was joining. After that I got promoted against my will, shot some allies while drunk, and acquired my name of Waffle. Strange times. Now I interdict newbie pilots and give them gold!

Maybe that could make a cool video. Buy all 40 ships, strip them down to the nude, and fly them 1 by 1 into that system and count how long they live.
