Play! has been development for almost as long as Pcsx2 or Nethersx2 yet it is nowhere near. It's a single dev passion project and ps2 is an extremely complex architecture and all but it is unlikely it will get anywhere near in this decade.
I wonder why he never asked for assistance or atleast collaboration with other developers. The project is good and has potential.

I've downloaded it from [ApkMirror](https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/aethersx2/aethersx2/aethersx2-v1-5-4248-release/aethersx2-v1-5-4248-android-apk-download/) a while ago, and my experience with harder to run games was smooth so far.
Tahlreth was a control freak who just HAD to be in control of everything Aethersx2; from lead developer to community manager...I'm sure being the sole guy who toppled DamonPS2 out of their barely-living high horse meant there would've been a LOT of volunteers who were willing to manage his own discord for him, but he consistently refused.
And Tahlreth just HAD to give EVERYONE a piece of his mind, which trolls ended up taking advantage of with constant death threats until he snapped. It was terrible for people who wanted to ask simple questions too since he stopped at nothing to shit on them as hard as possible (This subreddit was like a cult back then where Tahlreth got constantly upvoted for doing this shit).
Despite this; his heart was in the right place...he developed the emulator without any paywall, made sure everyone got the memo by guiding people through each and every setting and warn users the risks of changing them (through the app, not in person), and back when he set up his patreon (through popular demand), he outright told anyone who pledged aren't going to steer development and actively DISCOURAGED people from pledging unless they really just wanted to give him money.
Speaking of; people turned on him the moment he put ads in Aethersx2 (this happened at least a week AFTER he called it quits). But that was more because he (IIRC) closed his patreon as soon as he called quits...and I suspect if he still hadn't quit, he would've been a lot richer.
So the takeaway is; he was a good guy who wanted to do the right thing, but that didn't stop him from being a twat and he brought the negative pressure on himself. He also didn't release the source code to his emulator the moment he snapped and stopped development (he outright promised to release it the moment he stopped development), which sets back PS2 emulation on Android for a few years...and I suspect that's why people are REALLY upset at him.

If it's so minimal why was tahlreth the only one who could do it? He most likely wrote all of PCSX2 himself as well. Barely anyone could even do what eggNS or damonPS did and they both stole all their code
That's the point, they are the same, read carefully before typing. Stenzek is NOT the founder of PCSX2. PCSX2 has been around since way before Stenzek started emu dev. Stenzek is in the emu dev scene since 2016 with Dolphin being his first project
even so from what i read stenzek was by far the biggest contributor to PCSX2. he was the lead dev in dolphin and probably made duckstation himself as well.

Some good fellas have posted the procedure to make your own NetherSX2 apk and even a link to download it. Use the search feature in the sub, Aether/Nether is way better than that
My aether sx2 lags like hell with audio stutter and stuff while playing just cause 1 , can anyone help on how to set it up, i have infinix GT 10 pro 8+8 , MDk dimensity 8050
I am seeing Aethersx2 as PS2 popular emulator and said to be the best in ps2 emulation, but it was not available in the Playstore anymore. Just have no idea where to get it legitimately.

He did not. PCSX2 has been around and playing games like Shadow of The Colossus before Tahlreth started Emu Dev

I use AetherSX2 as well and play TimeSplitters trilogy on it, but same not sure about this Play! Emu.
