I had these rails and still went and bought the gulfcoast y axis if that tells you anything.
Factory y axis beam had a twist and ramp to it that I could never get rid of so my bed was trammed very funny because of it. I wouldn't recommend these rails as they won't improve anything due to that beam. Also very difficult to get all lined up.
I'll give a +1 for GulfCoast. I added rails to X, Y, and Z on my S1 Pro. I can print much faster, but I rarely do. It has added to the reliability, and it is quieter. However, I mainly did it for the tinker factor.
I was having terrible reliability with the POM wheels on the y-axis on my S1 Pro. They would wear excessively even though I would tweak the tension to within a tiny fraction of a turn of the eccentric nut, until they were just barely tight enough to remove play, and they would be worn down in a few days and be loose again. Reliability and consistency were horrible. I installed this kit and the difference is like night and day. Like others have said, print quality won't necessarily be improved, this upgrade is all about reliability.
I also installed linear rails on the z axis and belts to replace wobbly lead screws and that improved z-banding dramatically. I believe that kit was from the same company as this y-axis kit. Install klipper and an adxl345 and do input shaping, for flawless, beautiful prints.
I bought this kit yesterday so I haven't tested it yet. But the reason I bought it is not an improvement in print quality but in print reliability. When printing every day, for example for an Etsy shop you will soon run into issues because you have to change and adjust the V- groove wheels all the time. Linear rails solve this problem and make the printer more reliable.
I recommend this Y linear rail if you want a cheaper option. https://a.co/d/at8cnEq I've been using it for about a year with no issues and it comes with a new Y extrusion. Just make sure to clean the factory oils off and after it dries add a few drops of PTFE lube to the bearings.
I’ve been using this exact same kit on my S1 pro for last couple of months and I must say it’s a huge improvement over POM wheels. Would definitely recommend it.

Ty so much 🙏🏻
One simple question. Are you currently having any problem at all with the machine? If it is printing fine. Leave it alone.
I wish someone had told me this before I put so many random upgrades on my Ender lol.
You can never have enough upgrades.

If you're using Klipper, or an Accelerometer, yes
My max acceleration tests on klipper went up by a lot

I have this kit. It has been working well for a few hundred hours so far.
Imagine paying $120 on a piece of linear rail and a mounting bracket. Just get linear rails from aliexpress
but then the Chinese know where you live, your credit card number, and what you like.
Great, so then i can buy things i actually like. Without paying overprice just because some middleman is making profits. Everything is made in china
middleman is making profits from personalised adds, your credit card, and selling your data
I was talking about your average ebay guy thst sells aliexpress stuff.
i am caught between the gcr set or the creality set for half the price.
The 2 s1 printers I have seen with rails had alot of vibration and ringing in the prints
Well I would say to use klipper (sonic pad), but I recognize your account and noticed you are a little stubborn and never change your view.
your assessment of me is only partially correct but You did well. I ordered the sonic last week and just have been too sick to fiddle, soon tho
get well soon!
