There’s alot of things to consider though in order to rank them. Each Eternal has an obvious strength and an added bonus on top of it that is unique to them. Kinda reminds me of Pokemon in which they all have strengths and weaknesses that cancel out one another. I like this change for the movies vs the comics in which they all can do what each can but with affinities. Yet this change makes the idea of them as a team more important - separate them and they can be good but together, they’re a force. Ikaris is the most well rounded of all the Eternals (strength, power, skill, speed) which makes him the mightiest. While Thena might not compare in strength but is defo absolutely more skilled, faster, deadlier and unpredictable than him. No doubt Makkari is the fastest of them all, faster than both Thena and Ikaris but may not compare in the strength and the skills department, the attacks she can execute that comes from her speed is an advantage special to her. Like Ikaris’ eye beams and Thena’s weapon constructs. Gilgamesh obviously is the most powerful in terms of raw strength but defo pale in comparison to the other three in speed but is prolly a better close range hand to hand combatant than Ikaris. Kingo is like Gil in terms of power in a way that he is the only one able to use cosmic energy in its purest form but may not be the best and fastest fighter, given that he attacks often from a distance due to the advantage of range. Phastos is one that kinda exists in the grey area, whereby he is a thinker and a fighter. He constructs weapons and uses them to inflict damage. Him having subdued Ikaris is a great example. I wouldn’t wanna fuck with him but in a ranking, where does he sit? For abilities alone, Sersi will place first. Her transmutation seem limitless and the rate they take place is super impressive…but with other aspects considered, where can she be placed? She lacks strength and speed but has a skill that the others do not have, she also absolutely have alot of power from this skill. There’s also things we do not know for sure, for instance can Ajak use her cosmic healing in other ways? Can she reverse it to get the opposite effect? Can she heal mental ailments? We know she heals Eternals but can she heal humans? These questions need answers in order to rank her. Sprite creates convincing illusions but can she impact the other senses such as smell? Sensations? Or is it purely visual and sound? Druig suggested that he could control the minds of every human on earth at the same time, sure he put Thena to “sleep” once but given eternals are highly advanced machines, what does that mean exactly? seems like he can’t fix Mahd Wyry cz its more of tech prob but can he actually fully override the mind of another Eternal like he does with humans? What happens to a mind that he has controlled? Also how long can he maintain a control for? The amazonian village suggests he can do it for a long time. What else can he do with his mind control powers? Can he erase memories? plant fake ones?

The fact that Sersi can kill (or transform) with a single touch, effectively, makes her just way more powerful, despite her deficiencies as an athlete so to speak. At least, that’s how I think of it. It’s just a trump card. I do agree with you that I like this change for the films. That every one of these characters have real strengths and weaknesses and have to work together to optimize their efforts. Also the fact that they have real weaknesses — like the fact that Sersi can’t just run up and do hand to hand combat — makes these eternal alien robots almost more grounded than many human heroes in the MCU

TheJack0fDiamonds

Agreed. I do believe Sersi is going to pick up hand to hand in the future. It’s almost a given that she’s joining the Avengers and will cross paths with heroes like Shang Chi. I’d love for her to learn from the master himself. Can you imagine how DEADLY she’d be if she can fight along with her transmutation powers? People will be thankful that she is gentle, sensitive and kind but piss her off and it’s a wrap if she lays a hand on you! One of my fave scenes is the Babylon flashback where they tag team tf outta that poor deviant lmao. They were going at him from every direction. He did not have a single chance. It just shows how deadly the Eternals are as a team and that’s without the thinkers in the field who obviously.m can contribute to a fight if need be. The film had them leaderless and fighting one another, which was a big tell as to how important it is for the 10 to be together in order to be strong. I really hope the sequel will further emphasize on this and give us more team moments. I dont want a single Eternal from our original 10 left out.

Yeah I love that scene too. And I love the way it was shot

Sersi Phastos Ikiris Makarri Thena Gilgamesh Druig (technically can mind control most super heroes so could be #1) Kingo Ajak Sprite

I’m really suprised by all of these rankings. Myself I would put Ikaris at number 1. He is the second fastest (fastest when flying to travel), second strongest, clearly not dumb and has a high battle iq. My second would probably be Phastos because of his showings against Ikaris, with him being the one standing out to me the most.(I’m using Ikaris as a basis as he is by far the most powerful imo). Then probably Thena. She ranks below Phastos because of how utterly outclassed she was against Ikaris comparatively. Yet I believe she would beat the rest I have Sersi at fourth because I see no way for her to actually use her abilities on any of the people above her which would render her harmless Makkari would then go fifth. I do believe she is a closer match for the top dogs than Sersi but loses to them either way. However against Sersi all it takes is one second to use her power and Makkari loses. Then I have Gilgamesh at six. I believe he would lose to both Sersi and Makkari because of his very limited range and his lack of speed. Should be noted that one hit from him should be enough to take them out however. I also believe a clear minded Thena should win this battle I’d place Kingo seventh because we’ve seen Gilgamesh is capable of blocking with his hand which should be able to defend from Kingo. I do see him being able to beat Sersi but only because it’s a good matchup for him. Next I have Druig. One problem for me is the lack of knowledge about his limits. We are told he put Thena to sleep but we don’t know if he had to do anything special to do so, like touching her. His ranking is heavily dependent but considering he didn’t just put Ikaris to sleep I’m assuming there was a reason. We also see him get absolutely destroyed by Ikaris Then I have Ajax. The only ability we see her use is healing and although great in general would not be good in a fight where she could never heal in time. Last is Sprite. Shows almost no offensive ability. If Sersi kept running what would she have done? This is my first time visiting this sub but it seems like Ikaris is heavily downplayed here. Kingo said so himself. Even with his help it wouldn’t matter because it’s Ikaris. They can’t beat him.

zoecornelia

Respectfully disagree, regarding Druig I think he didn't put Ikaris to sleep because of plot convenience, the plot needed Ikaris to take out Druig coz the writers knew Druig is the biggest threat so they made Druig suddenly forgot he could control minds - it happens all the time in the MCU but the fact is Druig is the most powerful Eternal, he could instantly turn all of them into his puppets if he wanted to and none of them have any defense against that. I also think Ikaris is a very overrated, Phastos was not bloodlusted when he battled Ikaris, he was just trying to keep him restrained for Sersi to complete the transmutation, but if he were bloodlusted there is no way he'd lose to Ikaris, he has way too much range of things he can do to Ikaris, so I always rank Phastos above him. Even Sersi ranks above him as she could just turn his lasers into air and all she'll feel is a cool breeze, if Ikaris gets close he gets turned into tree - instantly.

dogdrawn

Honestly- the Thinkers I view as more powerful than the fighters. Druig Sprite Phastos Sersi Makkari Ikaris Thena/Kingo (can thena produce projectile weapons? Those seem more effective than hand to hand in most situations) Gilgamesh And Ajax is kind of on her own I think if the Thinkers are creative with their powers it’s hard to beat many of them.

zoecornelia

>Honestly- the Thinkers I view as more powerful than the fighters Absolutely true, Druig alone could make all the Eternals his puppets so I hate how they always underestimate him. I think the writers are gonna have a hard time with Druig in future movies coz he's ridiculously OP.

dogdrawn

The Druig bit-that depends on whether or not the other Eternals can block him. Even if they can’t, Telepaths are dangerous. There’s a reason Professor X is dangerous with a capital D if he wants to be.

RockHandsGrimiore

Tl:dr Ikkari, Gilgamesh, Thena, Makkari, Phastos, Sersi, Kingo, Druig Ajax, Sprite (or Sprite, Ajax idc) I could have put Sersi higher, idk. Druig is weird to rank, we know he put Thena to sleep one time but it's just not clear how capable he is with overpowering them mentally or even if he could mind control them. We know Ikaris is highest (high level all rounder) and Ajax and Sprite are probably the lowest. Gilgamesh probably right below Ikaris though he's stronger and more durable he can be worn down. Athena under Gilgamesh, I know she killed him but that's only cause he didn't want to hurt her badly. Makkari then Phastos then Sersi then Kingo. When Phastos trapped Ikkaris I think that showed the potential he had. Also Sersi was able to turn a deviant into a tree which showed her power. Edit: Wow opinions are very different from mine. Phastos has a lot of potential but I think his thing is more his ingenuity which is why he got Ikaris. Also the fact he caught him off guard, we just didn't see any of Druig's capabilities against the other Eternals. Besides again that one of story with Thena. If he can't mind control them only other humans then he's pretty much just as low as I put him

zoecornelia

I'm not going to go with the way the writers chose to depict these characters on scree because there was a lot of plot convenience going on, my list is strictly based on the characters abilities and what they could do with them. 1. **Druig -** This should be a no-brainer (pun intended! lol) no but seriously, the power to take control of several minds at once is insanely OP, and he doesn't even have to be close or even in the same room as you to take control of your mind. The movie underutilizes and nerfs him but Druig is literally the most powerful Eternal, none of the others have any counter to instant mind control. 2. **Sersi -** I was kinda nervous on where to put Sersi coz as a fighter she's essentially useless, but those hands of her are extremely dangerous. She can turn any on-coming attacks into anything else and it's so instant that she can block several attacks at the same time. Even if she gets wounded, she could arguably transmute her own flesh to restore it back to normal, plus she could turn the air around her into anything else, perhaps a fire for example to protect herself, she another character who's powers were underutilized in the movie. 3. **Phastos -** This is my favorite Eternal and his powers are ridiculously OP like the writers seriously nerfed him. In the world of science fiction, there exists a device for probably any and everything anyone would ever need, and Phastos is a character who can create any of these devices out of thin air and that makes him crazy powerful, he could come up with a device for practically any function. 4. **Makkari -** She may not have any blast powers, but her speed makes her OP, she could take down an entire army before they have have a chance to draw their weapons, and being a character who runs on cosmic energy she never gets tired so it'll be extremely difficult to take her down, 5. **Ikaris -** Being the only Eternal able to fly gives him a huge advantage over the others, plus being able to attack from a distance is another bonus. He's also supposedly the most durable so it'll be pretty hard to take him down, 6. **Kingo -** Another character with a skill for distance attacks, still not as powerful as Ikaris but those blasts of his are quite effective and he could arguably grow/charge them to bigger sizes than what we saw which would make for even more damage. 7. **Gilgamesh -** He's been called the strongest Eternal but he can only really demonstrate that power if he's up close to his opponents as he cannot attack from a distance, which leave shim at a disadvantage for opponents who can attack him from a distance. 8. **Thena -** She's a powerful and skilled warrior but has to be up close to be useful in a fight as she can't attack from a distance. Still a very useful warrior, having a shield gives her an advantage for incoming attacks. 9. **Ajak -** Pretty much useless in a fight other than the fact that she cna just keep healign herself, but sometimes even that isn't enough. Still I think did better than Sprite in a fight. 10. **Sprite -** Oh well, creating illusions is great but what else? So you've blinded your opponents and now they can't see anything - then what? She doesn't have any fighting skills, and even if she tries to attack while blinding her opponent, her attacks are usually so light that the opponent would easily brush it off then finish off Sprite. I think Sprite works better in a team, she could be in charge of blinding the opponents while the actual fighter sin the team take them down more easily. Her power is cool but not much more.

Sersi Phastos Ikaris Thena Druig Makkari Ajak Sprite Kingo this is just a first draft, of sorts

Confident_Target8330

1.) Ilaris 2.) Druig 3.) Makari 4.) Sersi 5.) Gilgamesh 6.) Thena 7.) Phastos 8.) Kingo 9.) Ajak 10.) Sprite

Synoxter

1-Ikaris 2-Sersi 3-Phastos 4-Makkari 5-Gılgamesh 6-Thena 7-Kingo 8-Druig 9-Ajax 10-Sprite You can say everythink 'bout this list but all of them can admit that ikaris is the most powerful eternal

zoecornelia

Lol there's so much disregard for Druig in these comments, but if we're being honest I think it's obvious that the writers specifically nerfed Druig in that beach scene because the plot needed Ikaris to sort of be the last man standing. Consider this, if America Chavez beats Scarlet Witch it doesn't mean America Chavez is more powerful, it means the plot needed America to win so the writers specifically write it that way. Same principle applies in this movie, Druig is definitely the most powerful Eternal, but the plot needed Ikaris to seem more powerful that's why they had to nerf Druig and remove him from the scene.

tigerstorm2022

Would Ikaris beat Kal-El? Ikaris does not appear to have an obvious physical weakness such as sensitivities to Kriptonite.

dogdrawn

No. Superman has more power behind him, more strength, more speed and more invulnerability. Realistically Ikaris is more like a flying higher every thing Cyclops, at least how they’re portrayed in MCU. Ikaris flew too close to the sun (into the sun - just wanted the pun lol) and died, Superman flies into the sun and gets more powerful

tigerstorm2022

I’d like to find out 😄

They all suck and rank zero among all Marvel Characters
