Right, I just know they do something similar when there’s a snake or small creature nearby. I don’t know if they’re one of the animals that has been documented having fun or not. And honestly I don’t know what their intelligence is like or if they’re primitively instinct-driven like chickens, the classic backyard dinos.
Yeah, they have claws. Normally they move around in small groups and if there is a small animal like a snake around they will stomp the shit out of it and claw it. Sometimes they’re just messing about but this one looks like it’s trying to stomp the ball
It's so great how every animal on earth loves a ball. I don't know what it means but it's something we all have in common. Cows, goats, sheep, turkeys, seals, humans, emus, snakes, dolphins, octopuses, turtles...do lizards like balls? I bet they do!
I have a slight phobia which I caught off someone else, a pigeon shat on me once, and several times birds have almost flown into me. They're just pretty inconsiderate. Treat the world like it's their playground!
Let’s not demonize a bird that actually only has a few confirmed kills on record and the vast majority of attacks caused by humans trying to feed or take photos with them. Most people don’t call bears or lions evil, but boy do folks really like to make a big deal about the perils of cassowaries. Just show all wild animals respect and don’t be a fucking dumbass lol
Emu happy dances are the best!
Do you know the reason behind it? Instinctual emu defense mechanism?
No idea but this interaction looks playful. The emu has no wings, he’s basically a mini-dinosaur, so all he can really do is jump around and peck.
And oh boy can they peck
They also carry a lot of ammo.
Don’t forget they won against Australia!
The Emu War will never not be incredibly amusing to me. Only slightly less foolish than launching a land war in Asia is taking on emus.
Emu ammo.
Because emu *are* large avian dinosaurs Birbasaurs are lit
Along with the beautiful and terrifying Cassowary! Totally lit!
Geese make more sense when you think of them as violent dinosaurs
I'd sooner take on emus than cassowaries. Emus can't disembowel me with a single kick.

Now I'm imagining a Jurassic Park T-Rex doing an emu happy dance
Animals, too, have the capacity to just do dumb shit because why not
I like to think he’s just having fun.

That’s what I figured! But I’m still not sure
Every time I see it I wonder if non avian theropods behaved similarly
I sincerely hope so
That dog fucking sucks at fetch.
They’re confused, but they got the spirit.
I needed this in my life today. Thank you lol
Beautiful moment to capture. It gives us a good vibes.
r/tippytaps or maybe even r/slammywhammies Possibly a bit of both
r/zoomies
He's probably like "omg, why are you throwing that egg around?!?""
**IT DIDN'T BREAK!!!?!!! IT'S RIGHT HERE!!**
I love Emu so much. They are so weird and curious and fun to play with!
Happy dino!
It's so heart-warming. Not so long ago we were at war and now look at them.
The scars of war really do heal with time 🥹
Oh my god, that is the cutest thing ever. The little dance!
That is a very excited dinosaur.

So much fun!
I really hope we can clone dinosaurs some day and discover that they all just want to play and do tippy-taps
as long as they don't turn out to be a bunch of kevins
Australias one true enemy.
Tbf - It's the closest thing (phenotypically) we have to a velociraptor.
That's the cassowary. Even more of a threat to life and limb than the emu.
Happy chocobo!
my brother is still very much afraid of Emus
For good reason tbh. Wild emus are not to be fucked with
he was afraid of one’s on a farm he worked part time at, he did not care for the sounds they made or the fact that they’d sneak up on him
Still better than rheas. "Hey look, it's Kevin!" # \*THUD\*
Dino chicken has the zoomies!
>Dino chicken 😂
I don't really like birds but this made my day!
What did birds ever do to you
I have a slight phobia which I caught off someone else, a pigeon shat on me once, and several times birds have almost flown into me. They're just pretty inconsiderate. Treat the world like it's their playground!
lol
Made me laugh
Love when someone put animated arms to these birds videos.
Doesn't know if it wants to catch it or hatch it
He’s on trot
It even makes dinosaur sounds
Emu: No my egg!!!!
Definitely not a lab mix
Okay, someone needs to seriously do this up for r/birdswitharms!
Liberty bibberty?
Def my first thought too lol
Had to double take, thought that was a cassowary because dark plumage. Those things are fucking evil.

It's so weird to me that people keep pet dinosaurs ... and let their kids play with them.
Now playing outfield, Oscar the ostrich.
Looks like the Chocobo of Final Fantasy
You can't fool me that's a dinosaur playing fetch
I mean… literally yes. But it ain’t too great at the fetching part
What a dope. I love him!
