I'm certain that your maps will be saved, one by one, and slowly pop up again in obscure places. In several years random members of the fandom will find one or more and use them as foundations for lore arguments.
Like we had recently when someone presented a map that had been fan-made like ten years ago for their homebrew tabletop game. It hadn't been meant as canon at all. There was some big BoS steel empire in Texas and Chicago, an unfamiliar faction based in Florida, and something with the Minutemen and BoS across the whole northeast. It ignited some interesting arguments and controversy until it's creator appeared and explained the origin.
In ten years we'll witness somebody arguing that they had evidence of Caesar claiming Hawaii so he could flank NCR or something.
