I just came across a crossover (more of a fusion) between *Madoka Magica* and Queensrÿche's rock opera *Operation: Mindcrime*, and it was really compelling and well written. Definitely not a crossover I ever would've considered.
Calvin grows up and travels to Atlantis (Stargate) with Hobbes. A fun, light-hearted read. [\[Link\]](https://archiveofourown.org/works/7464159)
Another Stargate crossover, this time they cross paths with a lost Zuko and Toph from Avatar, the Last Airbender. Great story telling. [\[Link\]](https://archiveofourown.org/works/6211903/chapters/14231311)
Because of a magical summoning, Itachi (from Naruto) ends up in Gotham with the Batfam. Completely unexpected combination. [\[Link\]](https://archiveofourown.org/works/45072139/chapters/113383801)
I did a one shot crossover between percy jackson and kancole. It sounded ridiculous and took some finagling but I made it work really well. Didn’t really know either fandom well enough to make it a full length fic but I time skipped all over the first book to see it through so it at least felt self contained. Still hoping someone will adopt it and write it full out.
Moon Haired Hunter is A crossover of Is it wrong to pick up girls in the dungeon and Bloodborn the Author handles it incredibly well especially considering it’s a combination between a series where the main character is basically set up to become a hero to the point where his very soul is one of the unique and pure one in 1000 years and a series based off lovecraft
Young Justice/Warhammer 40k. The two have nothing in common. One is an animated PG teenage superhero setting, and the other one coined the term grimdark.
Very different themes, atmosphere, very different settings, but somehow they work together and have about 20 fics on ffn.
Any and all of them. The idea that opposites don't make the best results has been philosophically disproven for centuries, and it's not a hard thing to spot.
It is a matter of competence, not "compatibility".
The first one that comes to mind is TMNT and my little pony (specifically Equestria girls)
I've loved this crossover for a long time and have even made a few stories with it myself that I've uploaded to YouTube
That Barbie/Dracula fic will always be my example that a talented author can make anything work.
Can I ask for the link?

Where an actor meets the characters they play. I wrote one where Edward Mulhare meets Devon Miles and Daniel Gregg. Link on request.

I read a short Doctor Who and Warhammer 40k fic, where the Doctor and Big E argue about morals.
