If Ronaldo is gone and they don't sign a new ST then Martial might become a viable option. The only problem I see with it is that he is Martial.
With that said, I have him in my team atm and I will regret that after the first GW
martial has played as the cf with the first xi in both preseason matches so far. rashford spent some time there in the second (with the second unit) but has played more as a left winger
I don't care what anyone says, if you put a put a gun to me head and made me pick between Martial or Rashford up top, I'm going with Martial every time.
He is far better in that position than Rashford, certainly a much better finisher, if he didn't have such a lazy feckin attitude he would be a top class player.
Not as a striker no, he isn't ruthless enough for me. I think he is better coming in from the left running at defenders, cutting in and shooting.
It's a make or break season for him though, if Ten Hag can't get him back to how he was a few seasons ago then I don't think there is any hope for him
Martial is a better finisher than Rashford, especially 1-on-1. I like Rashford and would love to see him as ST but I imagine he would need to improve finishing before ETH trusted him in that role.
If Ronaldo leaves then Rashford, Sancho and Martial are all ridiculously good options for their price. Although Sancho and Rashford are good options regardless if he leaves too.
With the Ronaldo debacle he's been given a chance to fight for his place in the team under a new manager. He's actually been pressing and playing with confidence, and has had a goal in each of our last three matches. It is pre season at the end of the day so I'm not getting him in my team, but it does look like something has changed.
Ings might not start and has been off-form, Jimenez might go back to his old self and be a viable player that scores once pretty much every game, but he's not himself after the injury. Mitrovic plays for Fulham, they will not be able to dominate games as they did in the championship and will have to change playstyle, which might affect Mitrovic.
My second forward is Mitrovic though, which should make my arguments invalid, but I'm more of a feeling player, even if I know that I might make the wrong decision. Objectively, Mitro seems kinda average, but I have a feeling and that's enough for me.
Ings may not be a starter, Jimi hasn't looked his best since the injury.
Mitro I like and am looking at him for early WC draft as the opening fixtures definitely couldn't be better (in b4 he wipes Liverpool cs in gw1)
Has been really questionable since returning from his head injury. His output has dropped significantly - which is made worse by wolves struggling to create chances. The seasons before he would score nearly half his goals with his head - and he’s struggled to and hasn’t scored a goal with his head since the injury.
I've staked up a few star players and everyone else has come in at 4.5/5. I'm seriously reconsidering my dependency on star players.
Trent is 7.5
Salah is 13
Kane is 11.5
Jesus is 8
You're left with 60 and need 11 more players. Leaves you an average allowance of 5.455 per player. I guess it's really a choice of what you prefer at the end.
He just might because according to his profile he can play left or right fwd and winger/attacking midfielder. He's more versatile than someone like Haarland who is pretty much solely a striker.
I’m going with Johnson at Forest.
Mitrovic scored more Championship goals but Johnson was the more impressive player. Didn’t look out of place against Premiership opposition in the cups. Cooper is a proper manager and Johnson will start every week. Think he’s the most likely on that list to chip in with both goals and assists. I think there will be talk of him moving for serious money by the time we get to the World Cup.
Not suggesting he’s a fantasy lock, but at 6.0 I like him a lot more than anyone else on that list and more than a few above him.
Glad to see someone mention Johnson. He’s taken a few penalties, not many. Do you know if he is the main or secondary penalty taker for them?
Will probably have a 6.0’er slot for him, Solanke, Awoniyi, Daka or one of the many 5.5 options (time will tell which are decent).
I’m not too sure about it even against the bottom quarter tbh, I really don’t think he’s up to premier league standard. I could be proved wrong however.
A price point that has not been discussed much. Obviously many of these players are not viable assets but some might turn out to be shrewd picks. What do you think?
I have Mbuemo and Wilson. Mbuemo actually have slightly better numbers without Eriksen, and will definitely play… I like him at 6 even if he’s on my bench
Be cautious of Toney, with Ericksen leaving we can expect to see BRE numbers to drop off.
Undav (only 5.5 but worth mentioning I think) looks promising but no rush to get him, opening 3 aren’t the best fixtures but after that he has a good run so gives us a chance to look at him before committing.
Mitrovic and Solanke are both talisman and should be aiming for 10 to maybe 15 goals over a season. That said the fixtures to start are not great but they both have a nice run around GW8 so could be good WC targets. Again this gives us a chance to see before we buy.
Martial has potential if Ronaldo goes.
Last time Mitrovic and Solanke were in prem, they scored 3 goals each. What makes you think they can score 10, let alone 15?
They'll be lucky to score 10 goals combined.
Mitrovic has played in 4 seasons in the PL
15/16 he made 34 apps for NEW with 13 g+a
17/18 he and 6 apps due to being out with a injury and then sold to FUL in Jan.
18/19 he made 37 apps and managed 14 g+a
20/21 he was riddled with injures and was not utilised by then manager Scott Parker. Playing in less than 1400 mins
Now under silva who has built Fulham around him we can reasonably expect him to return to the 10-15 g+a territory we have seen before.
As for Solanke, I think he could be an option at times, he made up half of Bournemouth xG last season and scored a 3rd of their goals.
We know BOU will likely finish bottom but we can arguably expect 25 - 30 goals. By that sense we can expect 10-15 goal involvement from Solanke.
Bournemouth when under pressure like to sit deep and stay compact, bit like Burnley used to when they where alright. They then play long balls up to Solanke and Billing.
When winning they also don’t push on they tend to sit back and protect their lead so in the games they do win they are likely to be 1-0 Solanke goal which will mean BPS.
Not a season keeper but one to consider for fixture runs.
i don’t like any of them enough to have over similarly priced defenders (not to mention a few mids). some of them might prove great value as the season goes on but i don’t see anyone worth taking a risk on at the start.
Mitrovic, Solanke and Adams are the only three I would consider if needed. Although better option for me is drop down to Broja once he completes his loan to West Ham
No expert on the club but I always thought he was a stop gap and was better utilised in different positions
Edit: according to wiki he prefers to play as a winger…. So must be true /s
My FWD line until my planned WC after GW 8 will most likely be Haaland, Wilson and Greenwood bar any injuries or emerging 4.5 alternative. At that point, we should have a vetter picture of the players and the fixtures turn a bit.
Fixtures and proven, but not sexy: Jimenez, Toney, Mbeumo
Interesting, but wait for fixture swing: Mitrovic, Solanke, Adams, Awoniyi
Potential gold if more minutes: Iheanacho, Daka, Martial, Ings, Alvarez
Probably crap: Nketiah, Welbeck, Maupay, Wood, Johnson
Conclusion: Probably won’t use this price point, but think Toney is the most tempting atm
Patson Daka has the best shot of any of those. Vardy is gone and will only be an impact sub so Daka should be starting most games with a decent midfield and gameplan.
I’ve gone for Jimenez, partly because I have a feeling his form will pick up, but also because it’s easy to downgrade if I’m wrong. If he turns out to be bang average again, I’ll cash in £0.5-1m and get somebody cheaper and bang average.
Last year every forward playing for the promoted team scored minimum of 10 goals (Dennis, Pukki and Toney). And that was even though Norwich and Watford weren't clearly Premiership level. I'm taking a punt with Solanke. His 29 goals last season aren't talked about as much as all eyes are on Mitrovic.
They don't seem to be worth it IMO. Mostly just seem like a bunch of consistent 2 point players. I thought about Toney, but he only really seemed to take off a bit after Eriksen came last season. With Eriksen gone I'm not confident in their chance creating this season
Martial and Mitro. Mitro will score at least 10 goals no cap. But if Ronaldo leave and United failed to sign new striker, Martial will be good option to use, and what if he reborn his same form like 3 seasons ago when he scored 17 goals for United.
Toney, Awoniyi and Solanke are the options that interest me as they're all likely nailed and had good goal records last year. Won't be getting any in for GW1 but will be keeping tabs on their early performances for sure.
The emerging pattern is to have max 2 strikers: Kane or Haaland and Jesus - I would not spend 6-7m on 3rd forward when it appears that the value is with similar priced defenders. Unless Haaland, Kane and all premium defenders do not return at same time (GW1-GW4), I don't see many managers paying attention to above forwards before GW3. Who would you rather have (or start with in GW1): Chilwell/James/Cancelo/Dias/Laporte/Perisic/Robertson/VVD or above options?
EDIT: I understand this is not what OP has asked but I'm just saying we need a course correction and look elsewhere for points (if getting maximum points is the objective).
I think the 6.0m-7.0m forward represent some of the best value in the game, and I can't see beyond going three up front for that reason.
Toney and Mitrovic seem extremely well priced for their likely returns and will almost certainly make my starting lineup. I don't really buy the argument that Toney will stop scoring because Eriksen left, given Eriksen only ever played 11 games for Brentford in the PL. Solanke also looks potentially extremely good at 6.0m after the City (A) and Liverpool (A) in first four gameweeks. Mbeumo and Awoniyi are potentially good options too. Apparently Mbeumo has looked good preseason.
If Ronaldo is gone and they don't sign a new ST then Martial might become a viable option. The only problem I see with it is that he is Martial. With that said, I have him in my team atm and I will regret that after the first GW
He's a decent price if he is starting. Like a few United players.
If that's the case, won't Rashford become more of a viable option than Martial?
martial has played as the cf with the first xi in both preseason matches so far. rashford spent some time there in the second (with the second unit) but has played more as a left winger
Ah interesting !thanks
!thanks

So, you don't like Rashford?
Not as a striker no, he isn't ruthless enough for me. I think he is better coming in from the left running at defenders, cutting in and shooting. It's a make or break season for him though, if Ten Hag can't get him back to how he was a few seasons ago then I don't think there is any hope for him
He was good in the 19-20 season I think.
Bruno at 10m becomes a really good option if Ronaldo leaves too
I disagree. I think eriksen will either take a fair chunk of minutes from him or push him into a deeper role than the 10 he's used to.
Bruno at 10m becomes essential if Ronnie is gone imo
I can't believe anyone is considering Martial? Has he had a personality transplant this summer?
With the Ronaldo debacle he's been given a chance to fight for his place in the team under a new manager. He's actually been pressing and playing with confidence, and has had a goal in each of our last three matches. It is pre season at the end of the day so I'm not getting him in my team, but it does look like something has changed.
Fair enough, still a wait and see for me though, I've been burned putting too much faith in pre season before!
he's been looking confident in pre-season and Ronaldo is shopping around for a new club. it's not as ridiculous a thought as you make it out to be
What makes him better than Ings, Jimenez, or Mitrovic + 0.5? Don't you think one of those three will have a resurgence this season?
Wolves scored 38 goals for whole prev. season. I think only defenders and Sa is good picks
Better safe than sorry... He is a wait and see isn't he?

I insist on 2 FWDs and they're Kane and Jesus
Where's the money for both of them considering you have Salah/Son and Trent ?
it's not hard to fit taa / salah / kane / jesus
I've staked up a few star players and everyone else has come in at 4.5/5. I'm seriously reconsidering my dependency on star players. Trent is 7.5 Salah is 13 Kane is 11.5 Jesus is 8 You're left with 60 and need 11 more players. Leaves you an average allowance of 5.455 per player. No Son, though I have KDB
F*ck Toney, kill Mitrovic, marry Welbeck
Now tell me why?
Imagine if Alvarez gets serious game time. It’s not unthinkable.
He just might because according to his profile he can play left or right fwd and winger/attacking midfielder. He's more versatile than someone like Haarland who is pretty much solely a striker.
Lol
If haaland gets injured he’s straight in my team
Alvarez is the guy I’m desperately waiting for, he is exactly the kind of player that would thrive in a Pep team
How about Wilson at 7.5m ? Looked promising at the end of last season under Howe ...
He always starts the season well, I have him in my team right now
Brace GW1, injured by GW4
I have him for the first two gameweeks, as a placeholder for Toney from gw3.
I'm starting with him. Reckon Newcastle will be strong this year and he's on pens too!
The problem with him is that he's always crocked.
Fortunately you can just sell him if he gets injured
He will get injured at some point though, it will probably be for a long time too. It happens every season.
Score 2 goals, people brought him in, blank twice, people held, got injured for 6 weeks.
no pukki, no party
I’m going with Johnson at Forest. Mitrovic scored more Championship goals but Johnson was the more impressive player. Didn’t look out of place against Premiership opposition in the cups. Cooper is a proper manager and Johnson will start every week. Think he’s the most likely on that list to chip in with both goals and assists. I think Awoniyi will be on pens but it isn’t crystal clear yet.
Thanks, yes I suppose there’s a good chance he gets it.
Only solanke on my radar but I'll do a wait and see on this crowd...all have significant question marks and the discount isn't big enough to 8m mids
Solanke, really ? I feel like he will be terrible tbh. Just like he was last time he was in the prem
He'll be fine in fixtures against the bottom quarter of the league, but it will be very obvious that he is out of his depth otherwise.
I’m not too sure about it even against the bottom quarter tbh, I really don’t think he’s up to premier league standard. I could be proved wrong however.
My thoughts are that they all look dog shit
A price point that has not been discussed much. Obviously many of these players are not viable assets but some might turn out to be shrewd picks. What do you think?
For some reason I have Mbeumo.
Actually a skilful player but man his finishing is weak
They have kinda good fixtures, Toney is too expensive for me
I have Mbuemo and Wilson. Mbuemo actually have slightly better numbers without Eriksen, and will definitely play… I like him at 6 even if he’s on my bench
Thats why I like him, he will play, score sometimes and Brentford isnt actually that bad.
didn't he hit the post like 8 times last year haha
I had him last year when he was a 5.5 mid playing forward. never again lol
"this will be the week he does something....this will be the week he does something.....this will be the week....."
this for 10GWs... somehow he prefers hitting the posted instead of scoring a goal
And Ivan Toney doing fuck all but getting a yellow card and then getting a price rise the same night
Fair enough
Is Undav likely to start consistently?
That’s what we need to see before we consider him.
If Broja goes to West Ham he could be better than the lot. I think Mitrovic will be in more peoples teams at some point (just a random prediction).
Where does Broja fit into the West Ham XI?
at striker
Are you saying he's replacing Antonio or West Ham changing into 2 strikers formation (if so, who is Broja taking spot from)?
i don’t like any of them enough to have over similarly priced defenders (not to mention a few mids). some of them might prove great value as the season goes on but i don’t see anyone worth taking a risk on at the start.

Seen people say Archer is a better £4.5m than Greenwood eventhough neither are starters.
Mitrovic is either a trap or this season's Toney. I have no idea which it is
It’s a trap
It is every year
Awoniyi, brennan Johnson if he doesn’t leave, and mitrovic are the only options here.
Fixtures and proven, but not sexy: Jimenez, Toney, Mbeumo Interesting, but wait for fixture swing: Mitrovic, Solanke, Adams, Awoniyi Potential gold if more minutes: Iheanacho, Daka, Martial, Ings, Alvarez Probably crap: Nketiah, Welbeck, Maupay, Wood, Johnson Conclusion: Probably won’t use this price point, but think Toney is the most tempting atm
think you should move nketiah to the third category, but otherwise agree
Patson Daka has the best shot of any of those. Vardy is gone and will only be an impact sub so Daka should be starting most games with a decent midfield and gameplan.
Don’t need none of them.
Shit.
Awoniyi is mine as long as FPL_Salah has him.
Honeatly they’re all trash. The only one worth monitoring is Martial.
Tell me you have never had a top 100k finish in FPL without telling me you never had a top 100k finish in FPL...
Tell me you jump to conclusions about strangers without telling me you jump to conclusions about strangers.
Tony Marshall at 7 is one to look at, Ronnie is good as gone so if United don't sign anyone he's slotting right in.
Chris Wood is the only one i'd consider, but he's not going to get the game time with Wilson fully fit. Ings should be a 6.0 then he'd be an option.
They are just too much money to think about when you have cheaper defenders that'll outscored them. And midfielders.
Not touching a single one of them until WC1
Broja if he's fit and gets some game time with West Ham in preseason
at least mbeumo should be good for my anti-fpl
Trash. Toney only good option.
Shitp
No go
Martial has already trapped me.
I would love to have a fwd from that price point but right now I don't want anyone from that garbage bin. Wait and see if someone pops out.
I’ve gone for Jimenez, partly because I have a feeling his form will pick up, but also because it’s easy to downgrade if I’m wrong. If he turns out to be bang average again, I’ll cash in £0.5-1m and get somebody cheaper and bang average.

You’ve cut out my favorite sleeper at 7.0 — Barnesy
Solanke all day long
Johnson is a shout for a cheaper option forward.
Not much.
Toney or Martial (seeing he’s in form in pre season.
Martial and Mitro. Mitro will score at least 10 goals no cap. But if Ronaldo leave and United failed to sign new striker, Martial will be good option to use, and what if he reborn his same form like 3 seasons ago when he scored 17 goals for United.
I know he's 7.5, but is anyone considering Bamford at that price? Or just not worth it?
Mitrovic for sure.
Mbuemo, Jimenez, Toney would be my pick.
I’m tempted for Toney out of those.
I think the 6.0m-7.0m forward represent some of the best value in the game, and I can't see beyond going three up front for that reason. Toney and Mitrovic seem extremely well priced for their likely returns and will almost certainly make my starting lineup. Apparently Mbeumo has looked good preseason.
None of them, better of with a 4.5 bench warmer and spend the money elsewhere. 5.5 for undav if you need a player
In that case who are some good 6-7m midfielders?
Martinelli, Neto, Rashford, Ward Prowse
Get a premium defender instead.
I'm confident Nketiah will be boosted by Jesus assists, both too and from. Hoping he will be the real bargain. Thoughts?
Where will he play on the pitch?
Jesus made it abundantly clear he intends to play as left forward, and nketiah, who has the iconic shirt number, will play centre.
The only one that intrigues me is mitrovic and I’m still unsure on what to expect from him
If Haaland gets injured, Alvarez is a shout but the rest of them are red flags.
UNDAV
