4.0 goalie.
This gives full flexibility for rest of your squad. You don’t want to commit to a premium who might get injured or misses 2/3 games due to covid. This would be the safest option.
Likely to be TAA, his price point is just nice and rarely ever gets injured. Can't do fodders as would need to use BB at one point and would love to have 15 starters when my TV gets higher.
Well i finished 20k last year, there are 9 million players. And i've finished around here 4 seasons now.
By logic, just off of last season, i am superior to 99.9978% of you.
Not quite in reality because there are people with multiple accounts and stuff, but you get the idea.
Simple statistics
If you have to start them then JWP; really cheap for the amount of points he will get; the reason he’s not in more teams is that it’s near impossible to know where these points would be collected, he’s almost just as likely to get points against the top teams as the bottom.
Rashford. Because Ive only been burned by United players 6 years in a row, and damnit if I wont make it 7.
No hes got "potential" to be very good value, top10 midfielders. High probability he wont, but then he will only cost 2m (above the 4.5 min). So if injured it wont be a big loss, like Salah would be.
Probably a cheap keeper like Sanchez or Raya.
Keepers do not get injured a lot and if they do they can be your second keeper.
Possibly risk it on Pereira to waste a midfield slot if injured.
Player: Gazzaniga Reason: Smart & hate fun
You're going to want a bench keeper for BB at some point though
Yeah, not getting those 2 points gonna hurt so bad :(
Didn't Foster get like 10 points in the big DGW last season as a 4.0?
Even if the keeper gets 15 points, having an injured player in another position is going to hurt a lot worse over the course of the season.
Andreas. I can live with a 4.5mid on the bench if he's injured but if salah gets injured I've just lost 8.5m
It has to be Salah…top scorer year on year and no World Cup for him this winter
OTOH if he gets injured you have a 13m player taking up space.
He has a pretty decent injury record. Besides, if we were playing it safe you’d just go for pedro neto or something and that’s no fun
Pretty decent ? Lol Hes missed 3 games in 5 seasons due to injury. Id say its impeccable.
I thought so, but I didnt feel like doing the research and didn’t want someone to come for me lol
He's sAlah. He never gets injured.
*cries in Kyivian*
The lack of a world cup means he shouldn't get fatigued like he did last season, but a dead month in the middle of the season isn't ideal either.
I’d rather a dead month than 10 more months of non stop football for him. We saw how he suffered towards the back end of last season
It would be smarter to go for a 4.0 keeper because if Salah gets injured then you are screwed
I’m afraid my balls are simply too big to be playing the game that way. Top 2 finish or bust baby
4.0 goalie. This gives full flexibility for rest of your squad. You don’t want to commit to a premium who might get injured or misses 2/3 games due to covid. This would be the safest option.
This is the only correct answer
maybe if he played the same game but on draft mode it would encourage more risk
You loose a bench boost player. But this might be the right answer
Likely to be TAA, his price point is just nice and rarely ever gets injured. Can't do fodders as would need to use BB at one point and would love to have 15 starters when my TV gets higher.
Phil Jones Utd never got rid of him, who am I to question such a philosophy
Unironically in my draft right now
The answer is obvious: A 4.0 defender that likely will play a lot, i.e. Neco Williams, or a 4.0 backup GK.
Not really plenty of people are going 5 at the back
The narrative in the summer is often «big at the back» and 5ATB. Reality in GW3 is usually 3 or 4 ATB.
Dont know what reality you're from i see plenty of top players going 5ATB, definitely havent seen one with 3
He's saying people always say 5ATB but as soon as the season starts, it drops to 3 or 4. That's true
What rank is this
It's this sub (and the wider fpl commuity) every single year.
Ahh i only check ownership stats for top10k Why would you take advice from an average player?
Link to stats that say the majority of top 10K go 5ATB for the season?
No, plenty 4-5 ATB towards the end of the season Nobody goes 5 premium defenders at the start man, top players all went Tsimikas to start last season
That's such a strange reply. You're acting like you're superior but you're definitely just... wrong.

Be Salah for me, I'll be upgrading the fodder for BB later on in the season
Ederson. If Cancelo gets stuck with Pep Roulette he could outscore all there defenders.
The issue with goalkeeper value is more about comparative value for similar points.
Yeah. The PPG last year between Raya and Ederson is a real consideration. Even more so with the early wildcard option.
If you have to start them then JWP; really cheap for the amount of points he will get; the reason he’s not in more teams is that it’s near impossible to know where these points would be collected, he’s almost just as likely to get points against the top teams as the bottom.
Son
Cheers
Dad? Is that you? We need milk.
I want Son but just can't fit him in 😭
Probably TAA
TAA. He's going to haul as long as he's healthy.
I think OP needs to put some caveats in to make this more fun. Like a minimum price for this player..
Could definitely make it more fun by making it a player you have to start on your field each GW they are fit and must be between x price and y price
Yep. And to make it more fun, player can't be a GK, outfield players only. Otherwise it'll probably be Allison/Ederson that everyone picks..
Can get real nasty and make it have to be a defender from a promoted team
Ederson, because my cover is Lloris. Yeah, I'm going for a City/Spurs GK rotation. Fortune favours the stupid.
You must be trolling
Nope, with a bit of luck I'm going to squeeze 30CS out of that.
Cheap fodder of your preference
TAA he’s solid set and forget

Salah
Kane - he has a potentially historic season loading IMO.
based opinion - Pope - better team, really high save percentage - basically a consistent martinez
Probably a cheap keeper like Sanchez or Raya. Keepers do not get injured a lot and if they do they can be your second keeper. Possibly risk it on Pereira to waste a midfield slot if injured.
Raya missed 4 months through injury last season.....
Kane is a set and forget.
My £4.5m forward. Last season my £4.5m forward got sold mid season and was in my team all along. Doesn’t affect you at all.
Balcombe - bench warmer - never bother transferring him anyway - free to do what I want with other players
trent, i don't think i'm gonna sell him
Salah Rested all summer and no World Cup
Got to be Salah
Son. Consistent.
Trent or Cancelo/Laporte
TAA. No good reason to NOT have his 200 points at 7.5 mil.
Trent
Trent
That one play is Salah. He's not injury prone, not going to world cup and he's always one of the golden boot contender.
Salah because he's Salah
KWP - cheap, 150+pts guaranteed,
Your Mum
