How are they getting increases when a lot of their talent is struggling? SAG actors can’t pay for medical insurance or food but David Zaslav and his cronies get million dollar salary increases feels like playing in their faces. Pay your talent and executives shouldn’t get increases if they are not managing their sector appropriately.
They pay the A listers well but majority of actors aren’t A listers. Most of SAG is comprised of characters actors and journeymen actors who go from project to project. They underpay the vast majority of those talents, and they can’t afford basic necessities.
I work in the industry, I know how it works. I’m in the middle of it, because I hear what you’re saying, but on the other hand, if you worked one time for 2 weeks out of the whole year - do you think you deserve full benefits? Most these people are just regular contractors who chose this career. They can go wait tables if they need the extra money. It’s entitlement to the extreme.
I’m sure most actors do work other jobs but if they work certain hours and days they should be compensated fairly, if that means a little less pay for A listers and CEO’s then that needs to happen. If actors worked on a whole series and the show ends up on streamers why shouldn’t they get their residuals?
Elizabeth Warren is right. David Zaslav tossing finished art to the side for the tax cut, laying off staff and getting such a significant raise is absurd. Those same execs making millions of the backs of people they were wiling to let starve and go homeless during the strikes is wild. EAT THE RICH!

They're all old/middle aged white men raking in millions of dollars while making creatively bad/lazy choices. Hollywood is in a rut right now, changes need to be made at the top in order to move forward.

It’s so disingenuous to not add Jassy’s stock-based pay to this. He got a $210MM stock award in 2021, 3/4 of which would have vested by now.
